    • @muddystick
      @muddystick 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ergonomics are a large part of the mini experience, it would lose s lit of appeal for a lot of people that would be buying one of these if they fixed it.
      I agree, I'd much rather a more comfortable set up, but if I had $100k to spend on a car, I wouldn't be buying a mini.

    • @gothops154
      @gothops154 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m sure Gildred put a ton of money into R&D but unfortunately that doesn’t mean a consumer should be paying $100k for this. This is far from a $100k, half that to be completely honest. For $50k I could see it, for a nicely restored and modified classic mini. But $100k is having a laugh or trying to dump all the money you wasted onto the consumer. Very bad buy at $100k and that’s coming from a MINIac

    • @Zanpaa
      @Zanpaa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gothops154 That argument would make sense if it was a series produced car, but it's a one-off build for a client, so of course one person is going to eat all the R&D costs. That's just how it works.

    I feel like this car could have been pretty damn good for Matt-sized drivers and even significantly improved for Zach-sized ones as well, and all the other sizes people come in, with 3 relatively simple mods. Steering hub spacer (and quick release), shifter relocation, and aftermarket pedal box. Considering the price of the car and the extent of the mods it's kinda crazy they didn't do these things, I can only assume the customer specifically wanted an authentic mini experience? Otherwise, with all the modernization and modification why would they skip 3 things that'd turn a wonky uncomfortable novelty car into a true luxury restomod?

    Hey Matt, I’m sorry to hear about your chronic pain! I know your sponsor says there’s no THC so you won’t get high but any “topical” product with THC wouldn’t get you high in the first place if you’re just rubbing it on your skin. Also CBD from non cannabis products is known to be “Hemp Derived” and mass produced (questionable ethically) as opposed to CBD from “Cannabis Derived” which you have to buy at a dispensary which is HEAVILY regulated by the government to make sure there is no heavy metals , mold, etc.
    I work in the cannabis industry so I wanted to clear up any misrepresentation.
    Also, CBD thrives in the “Entourage” setting because your body has receptors for cannabinol/cannabis and is actually the most effective along side THC ! You would benefit more from a product with a little THC. The more you know 💫

    I think most of the pedal problems are caused from being LHD.
    The RHD cars have the brake and clutch pedals in the space between the wheel well and tunnel, the throttle pedal being mounted on the wheel well.
    It was a British car designed for RHD and the LHD market was a secondary concern for Austin in 1959.

    Farah spends the entire video explaining that a classic mini isn't a grand tourer. Lol. Both of them were smiling and laughing the entire drive.... that's the point. That's what this is for.

      The people that actually buy or build cars like this knew that already. Minis are just Minis. Just fun.

    Can’t believe they put a d16 in it. This thing needed a twin cam B series Honda engine.

    Ive been thinking about doing something like this- if I can get a decent old mini. If not- instead using a karmann ghia. This looks so dope though!

    There's nothing like an old Mini, Ezy Power Steering from somewhere in Europe does an electric power steering kit for old Mini's, I don't have one on my panel van, but I know it exists, Rj in Oz

    Great vid.
    Bunch of extra weirdness in this Mini.
    Would be fascinated to see a one/two take of Binky.
    Rather than make it comfortable, make it fast!

    I'm a little over 6ft and around 140kg... I fit in my classic mini just fine. It's all about having the seat set up correctly. Although, I wonder if the left hand drive is an issue? Mine is right hand drive. Those pedals also look oddly offset.

      I find the RHD pedals more offset then the LHD ones.
      Funny they did not notice the steering wheel offset....

    In right hand drive the pedal situation is very different having the throttle next to the wheel arch….. that leads to smashing both the brake and throttle at the same time due to the pedal configuration 🙈😂 oh and the steering with your knees is still a thing 🤷‍♂️ the answer is a deep dish steering wheel🤘😘😂
