This was SO helpful! I've played the game 2 times now and both times I was confused about the exact rules. I'm someone who learns more when watching instead of reading, so this was the best solution to figure out the small mistakes I made! Also a compliment to the editing skills! I noticed how much work was put into it.
KimDahl77 I have two more done and ready to go once the publisher allows me to. Then in the next few months I have Kanban EV, Gates of Mara, Import Export, Tokyo Metro, Merv, Venice, Lost Ruins of Arnak, and Under Falling Skies. Oh dear. That’s a lot... no sleep for me then :)
i really like the look of this unusual to see a euro with this much art and colour. the components look unique.... and sooo many yodas... Great Video Paul! Stay Hexy!
Hey Paul. A bit of math nitpicking here (apologies in advance). When you say that you can use any two resources (A and B), as a wild one (noted G), then the notation should be "A + B => G", instead of "A + B = G". The latter, being an equality, kinda suggest that you can trade Gold for any two resources, which may confuse some square-headed people like myself hehe. Thanks for the great video!
Fantastic and helpful as always! Really helped solidify the stuff from the rulebook and caught some things I missed! Now to work on some solo plays!:) Thanks Paul!
Absolutely superb how to play. A complex game presented in an excellent way 👍 Seriously impressed with the video edit too.... If you keep this up it's bye bye Rodney! 😁 (nothing personal rodders 😉)
Just came back after couple of games of Bonfire and caught two rules I forgot: 1) you can take path tile blind from the stack 2)first move of bonfire can be pointing at any space Maybe I will help someone, feels like it can be easily forgotten.
Thank you for the excellent tutorial Paul. Iàm waiting for my copy! I have a question. may a move a Guardian backwards? Assuming there is no Guardians in the previous Path Tiles.
Is the end of the game triggered as soon as they required number of novices are placed on the high council? Or does the round end first and then the countdown tiles are used? For example, in a two-player game where seven novices need to be placed out, if player one places out the 7th novice, does it skip player two's turn and start the countdown tiles with player one again?
Thx for the learningvideo. I have 1 question and i hope you or the designer can help me. In the rulebook: Bonus action "You may perform the bonus action any number of times on your turn in addition to your normal action" Can i do my normal action and use the bonus after that? Or will the normalaction end my turn and i have to wait until next turn? So i have to use the bonusaction before
I have a quick question about common tasks...are they only a bonus option IF you ignite (flip a task) a bonfire? Or are they available any time you’re equipped to do so? Thank you! I’m reading the rulebook and can’t quite nail that one down.
It’s a really nice video, and I like it very much. If you don’t mind, I’d like to ask your permission to share this video to the other website in China for the embarrassing reason that TH-cam is blocked from accessing in China. Of course, I’ll give sources of the original website. Thank you very much!
Hi William. Thanks for the comments. I prefer to keep all my videos in one place, but I didn't realise it was blocked in China. Could you send me an email with some details (I don't know what "the other website" is). Thanks. gaming-rules@outlook.com
Thanks for another great video Paul! I was playing a fake 2p game the other day to learn the rules, and I wondered; does the first player start passing the 5 token after their turn if *they* place the final gnome on that turn? Or would the countdown start after their next turn? There seems to be a it more fiddliness in this one than other Felds. 😳
according to the rules [page 11], the '5' counter is added when a novice is placed in the high council and the correct number is reached. The counter is passed at the end of the start player's turn. So, if the start player adds the final novice, they would pass the token at the end of that turn.
Played it today with my wife, she ran out of fate tiles!!! She coulnd`t do anything and i only had 1 left also. Did we played it wrong or is the game broken?
Question: you said that you score points for each common task you've completed during the game. However, there doesn't seem to be a marker to place or some other kind of means of tracking which ones you've done. Is each player supposed to remember which common tasks they've completed at the end of the game?
Ok, I just looked up the common tasks. They all involve things that you add to your board, such as portals and gnomes, which can be checked at the end of the game. Not a problem after all!

You're very welcome!
This was essential wathcing, without which I would've missed some very essential rules. Thanks for taking the time. Your video is so well edited!
Thanks. Took me about 30 hours to create. I pride myself on the editing :)
Amazing video! I really needed this. Thanks a lot:)
As always, your "How to Play" videos are top notch! Thank you!
We need more how to play videos! You are the best at this :)

Thanks for this excellent learning video... The burning candles immediately put us in the right mood.
So helpful. Short, easy to grasp and consistent. Thanks a lot!
Just picked up my copy today so thank you Paul for this excellent and timely video
Great explanation. Especially for a game so complex! The visuals went well with the verbal instructions.
Preordered this one and can not wait for it! Great video as always!
Feld is going to have a great Christmas! Can't wait to give this a go. Thanks for the video.
Absolutely stellar how-to-play video. I'm ready to teach it tomorrow and play (in masks).
This has just arrived on my doorstep, so thank you Paul for making this excellent rules vid for it!
sorry for the delay in replying. Just seen this. How did you get on with it?
I can't wait to receive my copy. This one feels like a S-tier Feld to me. We'll see
Thank you very much for the clear overview. I might play this game tonight on Tabletopia, so your video comes in handy
once again the best "how to play" video on TH-cam. Thanks!

Thanks, good point.
Really helpful for me to learn the rules today, thanks!
You're very welcome!
Another Feld for my collection. Soon I'll need to expand it to an additional shelf!
Thanks Paul, as always a great video. Not a game for me, but still enjoyed watching the rules.
Thank you for yet another amazingly clear explanation.
Perfectly clear as usual, thank you so much!
Great video as always, thanks for your work on this! Yet another Feld that I will have to buy.. or hopefully win!
Well paced and concisely explained - thanks for your effort! :-)
Such a great game, cant wait for the official release.
Excellent teach. Thankyou Paul. Looking forward to playing this!
Punched it last night, understood it this morning (thanks to this tutorial). Good work Paul.
Excellent video as always
Fantastic and helpful as always! Really helped solidify the stuff from the rulebook and caught some things I missed! Now to work on some solo plays!:) Thanks Paul!
Another stellar video, Paul. I really like the sounds of this one.
Great video - thanks! It's a lot to take in, but at least I have an idea and it will make the rulebook easier.
Great review!! Thanks a lot!!!!
Great and clear instructions.
Love the candle effect!
Excellent presentation, thanks.
Great video! Your explanation will make it so much easier to learn :)
You are amazing Paul thank you for the video! Im so hype for this game as a Feld lover!!!!
Perfectly explained! Awesome! :)
Gonna take this one in place of Castle of Tuscany as the Feld for this year!
Yeah, Castles of Tuscany was a bit of a waste to me. Redundant game.
Watching your videos is way better than reading! :)
Absolutely superb how to play. A complex game presented in an excellent way 👍
Seriously impressed with the video edit too....

Personally, I start with the bonfire OFF the board. The first player to use it chooses a starting position. That prevents the problem :)
Wow, this was extremely well done
Thanks for the video, really good explanation of the game! 🙂👍🏻
Thank you for the excellent tutorial Paul. Iàm waiting for my copy! I have a question. may a move a Guardian backwards? Assuming there is no Guardians in the previous Path Tiles.
Nope. Although one of the Gnomes special powers does allow you to move back.
Thank you Paul!
@@GamingRulesVideos ... and this special power even allows you to jump over other Guardians, too.
Fantastic explanation! Thankyou... looks like a great game🙂
Looks very convoluted.
Grat video Paul... Thank you

Those candles look like a fire hazard. Bonfire indeed.
not real :)

any time I think
@@GamingRulesVideos thank you! Looking forward to playing. We all appreciate your hard work.
Amazing video! Thank you Paul!
thanks again for this, now I'm off to play!
Is it more heavy than Trojan and Bora Bora? I wonder?

Why do the little dudes look like yoda's? 😂
I thought exactly the same thing!
@@GamingRulesVideos Because they are Gnomes! It's not our fault that Yoda looks like a Gnome, too ... ;-)
Why the extra apostrophe, though? Yodas!
There are sticker packs to DL/print...they look even more Yoda-y. Or...maybe they look like Yogurt from Spaceballs.. 🤷♂️
