I listened to Stephen Stills as a youngster! everyone is getting old and don't have their voices- same with all the greats. Love em while they are here-
All the folks going after Stephen for the way he sounds need to chill 😂. The man is 79 years old, has been in the music business for 50+ years and he’s just a living legend. Cut him some slack.
Attended CSN show at Greek theater (CA) 2014 and it was sadly apparent back then that his voice was going.....but as already been mentioned - guitar and status still 100% intact!
No doubt. The man is a legend and he has massive hearing issues that have been affecting him for years. It makes me very happy to see him on stage. It's a great thing in my mind especially to see two old friends working together for a good cause and Young helping him through the performance. This was an especially great tune for Stills to do...no help needed he knows this tune like the back of his hand so he could have some fun haha nice job imo.
Love this version brings the words out even clearer and yes for the negative remarkers you write a song like this play it 57 years from now see if it holds weight elvis has left the building
Stills is nearly deaf now. People may think he lost his voice. He hasn't. He lost his hearing. When you go to see him live, you're going to see in person a legend and not a current chart topper at the height of his career.
It is not only the harmonies but the skilled playing not to mention the body of work. I heard him play "Word Games at the Hbg Pa. 1st anniversary of the TMI accident. Not his best times but the writing & message cemented my interest forever!
Stills is practically deaf. Literally. People need to give him a break. At least he isn't pulling a Paul Stanley or a Don Henley and lip-synching. He's giving you what he has, is semi-retired and playing simply for the love of getting out and jamming.
I love it, Neil, Stephen and the band sound incredible. Imagine paying $$$$$$ for tickets to a live concert, only to find out it wasn't live, the band and singers were using pitch correction and backing tracks. Is It Live or Is It Memorex. I can accept the fact that after 50 plus years of performing you might not sound as good as your live Woodstock performance a half century ago.
I saw Stills in a local venue long ago where he joked about his new hit, saying Young just added one guitar lick, and now he has to split the royalties, and shook his head in humorous dismay Of course, these friends agreed beforehand ,
@@AnnetteOjala this benefit was held at the Painted Turtle campgrounds above LA near Lake Hughes 😁. The Painted Turtle is a camp that works with kids with disabilities.
This appears to be a very "lite" setup for the band. Put these guys in a studio or a venue with their regular gear, and they've literally hardly lost a beat.
I’ve always loved Steve Stills, but his time has come and gone. He’s lost his hearing to the point where he simply can’t hear himself anymore. Sad to see him continue to try, but his legacy remains.
@@ChrisLawton66 if you compare this perf to the pace of that on Super Session, you may find little change over the decades. good things are often like that.
What a grape song! "For What It's Worth" was loosely based on "Murder in My Heart for the Judge" by the late Jerry Miller of Moby Grape, whom Steven Stills called "the greatest rock 'n' roll guitarist in the world."
Sorry for saying, I grew up on this music, so I know it as well as any of you, but they need to let it go. Bask in your glory, I absolutely have great memories of all of this but I would rather remember you as it was and not as it falters. I fully expect massive hate for my comments so go for it.
POOR STEPHEN - not like the amazing 2010 Bridge School Buffalo Springfield reunion concert (also with richie furay) - this is so bad vocally and weak on guitar, I guess hearing / age issues - so brave to get up but, glad we saw the real deal.
Jesus...and I thought the dems were going to lose the election when he did it with Billy Porter...that version is actually better than this...and I hated that shit.
Not bad for a 79 year old. Naturally I loved his voice in his younger days, but it's downright inspiring to see him here.
It's more than a song. It's history, our youth, good memories, just a feeling and a vibe that will never be reproduced.
Each event these living legends play now may be the last… What a long, strange trip it’s been! A BEAUTIFUL trip!
Who would have ever thought almost 60 years ago that they’d still be playing this song live today? Absolutely wonderful gift we have.
I listened to Stephen Stills as a youngster! everyone is getting old and don't have their voices- same with all the greats. Love em while they are here-
Stephen’s hanging in there. Even James Taylor is having trouble hitting the high notes these days.
Youngins, we ain't gonna go down quietly, join us for the last part of our ride and keep it going!

As an musician for 30 years , and big fan of these guys. It’s just haters, his singing is not that bad and guitar was great

They didn't have the same diet as Sammy Hagar...js...
It was a nice day for some late 60s rock 'n' roll.
Good to see these two together. Never a bad thing
Excellent job guys. Keep on rocking.
Wow! Stephen Stills and Neil Young doing "For What It's Worth" 57 years later, great!
They can still rock! Especially on the guitar solos.
a real statement that the song is still relevant today. It's no June , croon, spoon, temporary lightweight love song.
@@Baci302 that's the thing music has over sports, one can play better with age.
Astonishing it is
Love this version brings the words out even clearer and yes for the negative remarkers you write a song like this play it 57 years from now see if it holds weight elvis has left the building
Stills has major hearing issues, it’s amazing he can even play, keeping rocking!!!!
A song that holds true in 2024 😢❤✌️
Awesome performance sounds amazing. Rock on 🎸🎶🤘
Wow, legends! I wish I could have been there. Never heard about it. 😢
I wish I could have been there. Looks very relaxed.
Ty for sharing this with everyone ❤
Classic, thanks for sharing this

Yeah, good find need more of this! 🔥🎸
Two of the greatest of all time. Best together. But terribly missing Crosby r.i.p. on rhythm guitar and Nash on piano and harmonies.
✌️&❤ Thanks for filming and uploading this 🙏🙏👍😎
...never too old to rock and roll...well almost😂... I'm older too .. and I m soooo glad...an awesome time in music 🎵🎶🎶

Two rock legends still gettin it done 🎸🎙😁
CSN was the most played trio on L A RADIO back in 70' something...
Yeah Stephen!
Thanks for coming out guys...i know how hot it was....😂

Neil, grab Stills and Nash and go out on tour one more time. Epic!

As far as songs like For What It's Worth, It Won't Go Away and Rockin' In The Free World go,, their time has come, gone and is back again.
Stills kinda sounding like Lou Reed.
If that goes any slower it'll be going backwards
at the rate things are going, a valid alternative.

Toujours envie d'entendre jouer ces guitaristes exceptionnels mais chanter, non😢
Impressive given that Stephen lost most of his hearing and has been battling some illness.
Sorry boys...been with ya since 1971...poor choice to include this on the set list. No more Cros, you NEED GN if ur gonna attempt this...
Pretty dam good, much respect for the old farts
Be cool if they did a medly of RAMONES tunes. They need the energy.

feel free to write and perform better
Stills is shot!. retire already, don't shame your legacy.
his legacy is playing music w/ his friends. no one's forced to endure it.
Give him some slack, a stroke caused this, lucky he can use his arms and legs, strokes are bitches, the worst
Jesus...and I thought the dems were going to lose the election when he did it with Billy Porter...that version is actually better than this...and I hated that shit.
Can’t sing anymore time to retire Steven…
Pitiful...
