    Tell me the Derek Jeter just didn't kill the journalism game with the players tribune. From the classical music selections to the great journalism pieces, the players tribune truly is the greatest form of sports reporting out in the modern world today. Derek, you're the captain on the diamond, and forever off of it. Not a Yankees fan, but always a Derek Jeter fan. Re2pect

      Sometimes, it's best to put down your opinion of teams, and just respect the players that play their heart out for the love of the game itself.

      Nah, writing a diary ain't reporting. They're not gonna ask themselves the tough questions, they're nothing but motivational fluff pieces lol.

    Jeter, thank you. For giving us a role model to look up to, for showing us the best example possible. Nothing but class I the best moments and in the worst one's. You will be remembered to many as one of the best ball players, but you will also be remembered a human being with a lot of character. Many of us have said that if we should ever try to be like someone, we should strive to be like you.
    Thank you, The Captain, #2, Derek Jeter.

    Love you DJ .. still a lil weird not seeing u at short in the Bronx. Thanks for all the memories you have given us yankees fans and fans all around the world. Tons of kids and even adults have seen u as a role model not only for skill and passion of the game but with a professionalism that is unmatched . Thank you again Derek Jeter .

      @M Soccer is for the little nerds who couldn't even lift a bat, let alone play the greatest game in the world. That game being baseball. Any sport that has grown men flopping and taking dives is for women and children.

    No Derek, Thank You. It was a privilege watching you all these years. Those teams gave me some of the greatest memories of my childhood and you played a major part in that. My uncle introduced me to the Yankees in the late 80s when the team wasn't so good. Unfortunately he passed away before you came to the team but I know he would've loved watching you play. So again, thank you.

    One of the classiest players ever. I am grateful I had a chance to see him play. A true Yankee and worthy of this honor and the one that will come in a couple of years.
    And this is from a Red Sox fan, but also one who appreciates skill, talent and hard work no matter what the jersey says.

    That era of the Yanks was great... Jeter - Mariano - Bernie - Tino - Paul Oneil - Andy.... Not overloaded with big names... But they had great personality and did what they needed to do every day. The result was 4 rings in 6. Now the Yanks seem to have learned. There will not be another Jeter - but hopefully the team can get back to that type of TEAM!!! Some of those players still live in the NY area - which says a lot.

    If you're all grown up now, time to man up and end this childish feud with ARod. Yanks fans wondering if that's the real reason there was only one title in the bag after 2004 is because too much in-fighting going on.

    • @Amidat
      @Amidat 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Yanks should never have gotten AROD... He was toxic wherever he went. Never performed in the post season. He did once - and the Yanks won. The Yanks would have more rings in recent years if the money tied up in AROD had been spent in other areas.

    • @sammo823
      @sammo823 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So you wanna blame Jeter for the Yankees not winning more when Arod came in, your wrong. We should have NEVER signed Arod, he was a poison to the team and club house. He the reason Torre was let go. He had one good post season for us. 1 in the 13 years he was with us. I tried of all these so called yankees fan saying Arod we love you. Get the F outta here. We could have 30 championships with the money we spent on Aroid.

    OF COURSE HE SAYS THANK YOU TO NEW YORK. HE TRIED NOT TO PAY HIS STATE INCOME TAX . HE IS A PHONY AND A SHAMEFUL PERSON. IF WE HAVE TO PAY OUR TAXES THIS CHARACTER HAS TO DO THE SAME. HE IS ONE DEPLORABLE INDIVIDUAL. THINKING ABOUT WHAT HE TRIED TO DO MAKES ME AND MANY OF HIS FORMER FANS SICK! I REFUSE TO HAVE MY SON EVEN MENTION THE TARNISHED NAME OF JETER.

    You're welcome, Jeter. You are the most overrated player in the history of MLB. Hope you enjoy the rest of your life being praised by those who will remember you as Michael Jordan of baseball..when in fact, you are more of a Dwayne Wade of baseball.
