Yes. 3400+ hits, career .310 hitter, over 2600 games played at shortstop, 14 time All-Star, 5 time World Series Champion. Hall of Famer to the core, all accomplished with grace, class, and dignity under the bright lights and big stage of Yankee Stadium. Well done.

I am an A's fan and I was there ... it was not fun that he forced a Game 5 and my team lost but it was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. At the yard it appeared that he practically appeared out of nowhere like - magic! But that is kind of how Jeter always was in any big game or big moment. i'm a huge fan. #Re2pect! I'm actually a huge fan of the late 90's Yankees - love the Core Four (should have been something "Five" because Bernie Williams is my favorite and it just seems like he needs to be included!! You know what....I'm a lifelong Red Sox fan and I'll never be anything different. Was never in my life more proud of my fellow Fenway Faithful than I was that day and the ovation they gave #2. Very richly deserved too! All Red Sox fans had mad respect for Jeter throughout his career. He was a class act, and a tremendous talent. We all claimed to hate him, but that was because we wanted him wearing our uniform and not the pinstripes. I think every single member of Red Sox Nation secretly wanted him to be on Red Sox so bad. Him and Mo were the class of that era of Yankee baseball and both were thought highly of here in Boston. Just couldn't say it while they were active.

Daniel Barrasso I am a die hard yankee fan, and always will be. As a New Yorker I hate the Red Sox. But I also respect the Red Sox. And looking back on that game it brought a tear to my eye the way Red Sox nation showed their respect for my boy. Yankee/Red Sox is the greatest rivalry in sports and deep down we all have mutual respect for each other. But man, what a 20 year span!! Jester could run for mayor of NYC and win in a landslide! But it does break my heart knowing I’ll never see #2 at the plate again. Thanks for 20 years Captain!!

Capie, you will always be missed. But, never, ever, forgotten. Thank you for 20 yrs of service with our beloved Yankees. You are a class act, and your shoes will be truly hard to fill by the next generation. Enjoy the rest and retirement, O'Captain, my Captain.

I wish I could give this video 1,000 likes. This might be the greatest video I’ve seen on TH-cam. If somebody wrote this script in Hollywood, the movie would never be made. It would seem to far fetched and unbelievable. I miss these days.

I held back tears looking at this, I lost my stepfather this past year, he was from Brooklyn, NY and was literally the most diehard Yankees fan on the planet, and of course Derek Jeter was our favorite athlete period... he taught me everything about the Yankees, and many of those Jeter moments we shared together in the 90's and 2000's... been to plenty of games with him while I was growing as well.. he wore NY Yankees apparel at his funeral, he literally took it to the grave with him... brings back so many memories watching this

What a spectacular video highlighting a career that will never be duplicated. I met Derek in 1997 at the original stadium, where he signed my hat. I still have it to this day and watched him all those years. Thanks for the memories #2. The game will never be the same.
