Here, plenty of improvements can be made to score a much quicker lap. Many of the corners after the first overpass that wind past the Jeffry statue and into the first hairpin can be taken much faster if you are brave enough to powerslide through them. If you are looking for a safe route, my second lap has a fast grip pass through those corners. After the hairpin, it is important to control your speed through the next few corners near the field with the horses, so simply stay in third gear to limit your speed.
Any time you get to the suspension bridge, try to find an opponent to draft behind or even slingshot past. The computer cars drive very quickly down the bridge, so keep as much speed as you can when entering the bridge to avoid getting left behind. When you get to the sharp right turn down the exit ramp before the space center, don't be afraid and hold the throttle in. Instead of powersliding, it is much faster on this corner to bounce the car off the wall; it will take some practice, but when done properly the car will bounce once, knock down the orange cones, and leave the corner at about 300 km/h. Avoid hitting the wall with the back bumper of the car or bouncing twice or else you will lose a lot of speed.
The corner right before the space shuttle is especially tricky as it decreases in radius in the second half. If you enter too fast, you will hit the wall late in the turn. You can use a visual cue to help slow down at the proper time for the turn: after passing under the checkpoint, look for the 'turn left' signs mounted on the wall. Shift down to second gear between the first and second sign, then shift up to third when the space shuttle comes into view. If you failed to bounce the car down the exit ramp, you will have to shift down immediately after the second sign instead.

In fact, if you want Daytona USA widescreen, there is a patch made only for this game. It's called: Daytona USA ++. You can put: Widescreen, HD textures, and the panoramic attract mode, and a bit more.

Greetings from Indonesia🇮🇩, Southeast Asian. I still Remember this Arcade Game SEGA Daytona USA, one of the BEST 90s Arcade. Very Nostalgic, but.... i was born in 2000, but I am lucky to be able to Play this Game. Because until the mid 2000s, I was a kindergarten and elementary school.... This Arcade is still there, I played it at the Timezone Game Center. And now i have this Game at My ASUS Laptop (PC Version), it look like SEGA Saturn Version.
Plus : I fastest 3'19"89 with Manual-4 Red Car at Expert Course (in SEGA Daytona USA 3 it's call Seaside Street Galaxy).

I'll encourage you to try this on nebula, its an emulator for the Sega Model 2 (that's what the arcade version was on)

The feeling you get when you walk into an arcade and see something like this for the first time, when at the time there was nothing else like it. Young people will never know that feeling, it was very special
We were seeing huge advances in arcade games at a regular pace back then. Look at the difference between Segas Outrun, to Virtua Racing, and then to Daytona USA and Sega Rally Championship. The 4 gear shifting and the Drift /Power slide mechanics of Daytona were just as amazing also.

Before drifting became a popular term we used to call it power sliding. The 90s were also the time when JDM tuning became much more popular. Barely anyone in the US knew of the Nissan Skyline GTR. heck, the Toyota Supra was still affordable because The Fast and Furious movies weren't even in the works yet.
What I always appreciate from the graphic is how the car’s body shakes. It gives an impression of a very edgy car.

Car engine sound is far too loud and conflicts with the stage music and spoils the atmosphere, should have modulated the sound effects volume and toned the engine sound down a bit in the options screen before recording.

Must hold the brake at the max? Still that is the only thing that i need to learn, have you seen how the asians run? Curepunk is one of the best daytona players i've seen in youtube
Well may i not be able to do it i bet, my pedals uses the same axis as the value for the brake is 0 - 32000 and the accel is 32000 - 64000 if i push all the way down the brake and accel i will never rev up to 7k i believe, may i try but i dk if i can do it.
Here in argentina there are lots of places that still have daytona with 8 cabs lol, but no one plays seriously so only taking the pit route at begginer makes you win and in advanced or expert no one plays.
Also here there are scud race and daytona 2 cabs but they are all with their old ver without the challenge course in daytona 2 and the modifications that they made to the drift on scud
