    I am an electronics engineering technician. For less than $20.00 you will love your tractor, B2601. All that is needed is on the main power wire to the third function buttons install a single pole single throw switch. The added switch will stop the diverted valve from operating and restore normal functions to your loader when not using third function. I have a 2021 B2601 TLB with Kubota third function and mine has a shut off switch built in. If you need any help feel free to ask. I live in Ohio, if not too far I am willing to help you. Bob

    A couple of things that might help you, and works for me. I have an L4701(love it) with a Land Pride 3rd funtion(i installed myself). I orriented my buttons for the 3rd function at the 8 o'clock postion and use my thumb to operate them. That keeps ME from inadvetenly hitting either button when using the stick for up and down and curling. And it's pretty easy to wire in a toggle switch on or at the the console panel to turn on or off the 3rd function buttons. Also, the suggestion for lowering the RPM level when using the loader helps tremendously with the jerking when operating the loader and or grapple. 2500 RPMs or even down to 2000(when appropriate) smooths things out. Obviously, a little higher depending on the heaviness of the load. No need to run at 540 level, when using the loader or grapple, normally. Play around with that to see the differences in smoothness. Good luck. And enjoy your tractor.

    Good vid. I have had my B2601 since 2020 with zero issues. Really love the tractor and wishing I added a third function for a grapple upon acquisition…my first tractor so very tractor ignorant at the time. So far about 120 hours on the B2601 and my loader and hydraulics are very smooth. If I run the rpms high, the hydraulics get super jerky so I lower the rpms to smooth things out. Love your add-ons and I would consider a new third function kit before trading your baby in-you’ll really miss her. I’m currently shopping for a new larger tractor for land clearing but it will have to be an addition to my B2601; I don’t think I can let her go. Cheers and keep the vids coming.

    I can sense your frustration. Don’t blame you at all. I would be the same way. I believe there is a problem with the install of the land pride 3rd function or a bad one. Nice Lamar trailer! I just picked up a Lamar 7x14 dump. Awesome trailers. 👍🏻👍🏻-TOA

    Like GP I too had a B2601 and it was a great tractor. Wanted a bit mor and bought a L2501. I spent a lot of time looking into soft cabs but with the great trade in and resale values after about 200 hours on the L2501 I traded for an LX2610 cab model for our Michigan weather. Love it.

      I will have a cab some day. I see Kubota is updating the Cab tractors again. LX3520 and LX4020 coming out in 2023. Pretty sure they will come out with a LX2620 in 2024. They chances they are making are big. New transmission the does whine so bad, wider front tire stance for better stability and the load gets beefed up. Worth waiting for IMO.

    As far as loader smoothness goes look at the physics when you compare the LX and your loader handle . There is so much more leverage involved on your handle which could be some of the problem. Just a thought

    I have a 2021 B2601 that I ordered in March and received in May, It now has 200 hours on it and have never had any issues but it don't have the 3rd function. This is my third B-series all purchased New, A B-2100, B-7610 and now the B-2601, never had any problems at all with any of them. I would change joy stick to a 3 button so it could be turned off when not in use.

    Would a mechanical leveler affect the way the loader lifts and "deadheads" at the same time? I assumed this is sort of what a mechanical leveler does, lifts and curls the bucket at the same time.

  • @kevinsigmund7739

    Regarding smoothness - I actually sold my RK 24 to buy a b2601. One reason was to get a smoother loader since I lift big logs over the side of a dump trailer, and you don't want that jerking around with the loader raised and a big load. I have an sud5640, and that loader is extremely smooth, but I struggled a bit with the b2601. What I found, however, is that it can be smooth. You're on to something when you mentioned the long stick in a previous video - since it flexes a decent amount before activating the valve, you lose a sense of connection - kinda like steering a car with a lot of slop in the steering wheel. What I found helped me a lot was to plant my elbow on the right arm rest, and use my wrist to control the loader as much as I can. This GREATLY improved the smoothness with which I could operate the loader on the b2601, and I was able to learn how to control it smooth enough to feel safe when dumping in the trailer. Never had to mess with that on my larger tractor. If you haven't already tried that out, give it a shot and see if it helps you too (of course this goes out the window if something really is wrong with your tractor). Regardless of if you wind up trading the tractor in, or fixing the issues, I'm sure this is frustrating. Good luck, and thanks for your videos.

    • @timbertimeoutdoors9836
      @timbertimeoutdoors9836  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great tip. I will for sure try this. It sure seems like when I grab the stick down on the shaft, I have better control but then you can’t run the 3rd function. I will try the wrist control method you have suggested.

      @@timbertimeoutdoors9836 I like to wrap my ring finger and pinky around the stick below the buttons and use those mostly for pulling it around when I'm using the grapple, but I haven't really operated it with gloves. I actually turned my buttons INTO the orientation you have yours because it felt more natural. If your loader is operating correctly, I think you may be able to get used to the flex in the stick before the valve opens. Takes concentration at first, but once you get it, you get it. I was actually thinking I was going to have to come up with a way to stiffen the base of the control stick before I really tried to get used to it (maybe a good aftermarket business opportunity!). Again, probably only applies if you don't have a fundamental issue with your unit. Good luck. Interested to see how things work out for you.

    My LX loader is not smooth unless I finesse the stick, it is powerful though and I need to add weight to the tractor, LX feels very lightweight but the ground clearance is great and it is very maneuverable. I love this tracker but my property doesn't. I have very hard soil with rock. I would suggest maybe getting a l3560 if I was to buy again. great video thanks for sharing the knowledge.

    • @timbertimeoutdoors9836
      @timbertimeoutdoors9836  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback and advice. Do you have a cab or open station? I love the L3560 but it’s pretty big for my small property. I like the size of the LX and I have heard that the loader on the cab version is a little smoother than the ROPS version or at least a little easier to control due to the ergonomics of the joystick. I can’t test drive one at the moment because dealers just don’t have them on the lots with loaders on them. No supply.

    Maybe air in the system?? While the tractor is running, turn the wheels all the way to the right and hold a few seconds then all the way to the left and hold a few seconds. Do this 4 to 5 times to bleed air out of system.

    Dave - this is quite awhile after the fact for you - I inadvertently didn’t put the power beyond connection together improperly when i was taking the backhoe off my 2022 b2601 and i immediately got what you are describing - going up was fine but going down had this huge jerk starting or didn’t work. I couldn’t get the loader going down smooth. I went and checked the hydraulic hoses and found the bad connection on the backhoe power beyond - plugged it in and i got smooth going down. I wonder if there isn’t something about your third function that’s messing things up?

    I see you frustration, did you do the install on the land pride third function valve, and did you operate your tractor loader functions before the install of the third function valve? Dealerships have an out when non oem materials are installed on new tractors with warranties when function problems arise. I'm sensing that is what the dealership is telling you. I own a BX with a summit hydraulics third function valve and add-a-grapple and can use the grab and lift and curl all at the same time, it is slow but it does work. A good buddy of mine bought the same tractor as you and installed a Summit Hydraulics third function kit on his and then a grapple. No issues like you have. I'm thinking there are times your third function valve is bleeding (bypassing)hydraulic fluid back to the hydraulic tank and starving the fluid pressure while lifting the bucket. My theory only but does make sense if you think about it. If your lift ceases, that means you dont have the hydraulic pressure to raise your bucket. Are you hearing any additional sounds when your bucket ceases to move up? I'm putting my bet on a faulty third function valve, and believe there is nothing wrong with the tractor.

    I recommend loosening the retaining screw securing the 3rd function controller on the top of the hydraulic stick and rotating it counterclockwise to face the seat. The red buttons should face the left. When installed properly the red buttons will be in alignment with the thumb of your hand. Even with gloves, you will be less likely to inadvertently depress the 3rd function buttons.

  • @darrenmoyer269

    I think its a good possibility that the 3rd function is plumbed improperly to the power beyod causing your issue. Also land pride 3rd functions are a true 3rd function not a diverter valve, meaning you should, in theory, be able to use the 3rd function along with operating the loader at the same time. the kubota 3rd function valve for the bx is a diverter valve in which you press the button then operate the loder handle to use the 3rd function. I manage a kubota dealership, If you would like me to send you the install manual for your 3rd function, shoot me a pm, and I'll see what i can do to help you out.

    Looks to be a dealer issue, not being able to get to the root of the issue. Like a software developer when someone reports a bug - “Well it works on my machine”. Sounds like that machine has an issue in the hydraulic system that needs to be resolved. You would think they could put pressure gages on the lines to see the flow rate and pressure. Call Messicks to see if they can help determine the issue. Good luck.

    Unplug the third function at the solinoids on the valve both sides . If the loader won’t act up anymore it’s the valves coming on . If it still does it then it’s the loader control valve .
