Like rowdy said the craziest thing is if it was a 7 day meet he could probably win 200im, 400im, 50/100/200 breast, 200/500 free, 100/200 back, 200 fly just crazy
Fly: 47.10 -- 0.9 seconds faster than the next fastest (Gonzalez, 48.00) Back: 52.20 -- 1.14 seconds faster than the next fastest (Kos, 53.34) Breast: 58.59 -- 1.88 seconds faster than the next fastest (Louser, 1:00.47) Free: 50.93 -- only one swimmer was faster, by 0.21 seconds (Gonzalez, 50.72)
Breaking 4:00 doesn’t seem too out of reach when you break down the splits: fly 54 low-mid, back 1:01.0, breast 1:07.0, free 57.anything is a 3:59. Scary. All Phelps was missing was the breaststroke and this guy has arguably the best breaststroke in the world
I definitely think it's possible. Given that Marchand has over a year to train for the olympics, that will be over two years since the world championships, from his 4:04.28. He is fully capable of dropping at least a half second to break MP's world record. I believe he'll have potential to go at least a 4:02, maybe even 4:00. Sub 4:00 would be unreal, and we're all aware the training in LCM is an entirely different ballpark, but given what we're seeing from him already, he'll most likely blow everyone's predictions away.
Bob Bowman has developed the coaching and program at ASU to an extraordinary level. Proof is the extreme progress Leon and others have made in IM. Remember there is a large pro group with a number of Olympic medalists also training at ASU. And the pros spend at least part of their time interacting and swimming with the undergrad team. Where else can a freshman swimmer come and swim with and get advice from an Olympic gold medalist?
Numbers don't lie : US women will still do ok at the World and Olympics (though the Aussies and Canadians will give them a hard time) but the men will struggle. Just look at the NCAA 100 fly : 7 out of the 8 finalists were foreigner (including the top 5) ! And Marchand wasn't even in the race. And remember the best Freestyle swimmer in the world isn't even here. By the end of the Paris Olympics, Popovici could own the WRs in the 50, 100, 200 and 400m. And don't forget the Brit's Armada either, with a least 7 men who will contend for Gold or Silver...
pretty solid 400 medley relay time
not bad yeah it's decent
😂
ayyy kyle
@@kujiyhosu7978it’s more than decent that time almost qualifies for jnats

There is no 50 br at the NCAAs but your point stands
If France could put together competitive relays like the US this guy could win 8 golds

marchand is HIM
that's completely insane... 1:39 in the first half of a 400 IM then 58.5 and 50.0 like wtf....
Will we see a sub 4 LCM this summer????
a sub 4.03 is reasonably in his reach
Sub 4 lcm is crazy bro but i wish

C'est du très très haut niveau Léon ! on a même aperçu les amydales de Bob Bowman tellement la joie et l'exaltation. Bravo Champion 👏👏👏👏👏

Bro 720p in 2023? how much free labor these boys gotta give you before youll splurge on a 4k camera?
Marchand is gonna be the first man to break 4:00 in the 400 IM
Phelps' last long course WR will be destroyed this year...
Your prediction was correct.
How does this not have 1 mil views already 😩😂
Leon is the real deal
How does NCAA championship meet have the worst quality videos in 2023!
Yep, 720p :(

Rowdy's comment about how he may back off the last 100 because of the relay is one of the dumbest things he's said
Ngl bru gone be wayyyy faster than michael phelps 💯dude fr on his way to being a freak! Great swim g

You are delusional if you think popovici can compete in 50m. Popovici is a 200m specialist.
These worlds in men will be a Marchand show. That's it!
