You can show me a million miles Lexus, a two million miles Mercedes and Volvo. But you would be hard pressed to show me a 200k mile Jag. I had an S type V8 timing chain issues, it shared the craptastic 5r55w transmission with the Ford Explorer which was rebuilt twice. Then you had the "minor" issues. The car was easily the worst modern car I've owned. It's a shame if I had a better experience I'd buy an f type.
I am on my second Jaguar, very reliable cars. I know someone who owns two with 1/2 million miles between them

The ECR valve as a check engine light will fail emissions inspection in states that check.
As far as performance goes, the EGR does nothing.
Are you able to remove the wires and throw a resistor across it? Or is the EGR more complicated than that?
Daniel Sinnott Can't say for a Jag, but it usually varies between manufacturers how you can bypass them, typically you would have to get the ECU unlocked and then change the required parameters for it so that it expects to valve position sensor to say that it's at a particular point for all engine loads. It's a bit tricky and can really only be done by someone with great experience with the particular make, like a dealer or certified repair center. Also, this requires the ECU to be a rewritable ECU that accepts reprogramming. Not all unlocked ECU's are reprogramable.

Really like the blue center caps. Had a friend with an s type, the coil packs started to go out then the emission sensors, then the ac pump, was getting to be a nightmare. They totaled it and got a new car with the insurance money before most the repairs were completed.. 😁😁
I've had other cars with an EGR code where replacing the gas cap actually fixes that.

Did you try pouring seafoam down the egr inlet tube? That may work better if it's easier to do.

If the EGR system is electrically or mechanically faulty it can pop a code right away but if the passages are just clogged it may not until you get it warmed up and under load. If you were keeping it it might be worthwhile to get it properly diagnosed. If you were in California you would have to fix it before you could sell it. Good luck with the sale

Can you get through yearly inspection with your check engine light on in Florida? Or am I writing this too soon and you are fixing the light in the later part of the video?
There is no auto inspection in Florida.
They have so many of these cars at the auctions !! They sell for super cheap with low miles but hella problems...
Need to check out BlueDriver for code reader. It can do data logging and all types of stuff. All for a hundo! Database is updated everyday also.

You might wanna take the fender liners out and paint them black. The body shop painted them blue. You can tell they didn’t bother masking them off.

Got the same EGR problem with my 2000 Nissan Maxima. The EGR tube gets completely blocked by carbon over time. And they make it next to impossible to get to and remove the tube!
It will sell for around $4,000 plus. It's a good looking car.

I've never liked EGR Valves. My 96' Chevy Beretta my current project car the egr started to stick last year and thankfully its right on top next to the Intake Manifold so was just a matter of buying a new one for 40 dollars.

I had an EGR valve on a Nissan that eventually got so clogged that as soon as the car got warmed up the carbon in it turned gummy and clogged it completely and then the engine would choke and die. It would start just fine when it was cold though and there was a pin hole for air to pass.

It's a Ford sedan of some sort. Probably a Fusion? I dont think the Focuses have a turn signal integrated in the mirror.
Buy a case of RXP and run it through the fuel system. If that doesn't clean the carbon and crud, it's hopeless for that EGR valve
