      Baby steps indeed! Start off snorkeling in protected areas and work your way up to the ucluelet lighthouse loop over time! You got it! And no worries, happy people enjoy my videos.

    What a awesome outing though! The camera was good, had to actually turn up my screen resolution, so it was crisper, had some fuzzy moments lol.
    Thanks for going out in that, and giving us an adventure!

    Nice video youngster,the old store behind the shot during the pee story,in 1970 ish,sold us 3 mars bars…lol they had like 5 on the counter at the time and three commercial boats at the dock.ive heard there is an old tug down there by the lighthouse reef in mid east channel.sounds like you understand safety,
    is the juice worth the squeeze…works for everything,stay safe n get old

      Nice dude. I bet it looked much different than it does today. I heard there was an old tug there. And true, it's a balance for sure. I teach occupational safety. My modo, if you get hurt, doing having fun and while enjoying life. Haha. But I wanna see my kids grow old, safety first. Cheers man!

    Hey man! Thanks for the video.
    I did wind up getting an Insta360 Ace pro for christmas based off your reviews a while ago. Took it out for our first recorded dive last friday. Everyone loves the video! Its a little "unstable" lol as my 11 year old filmed it but, thanks man! The thing is killer.

      Awesome man stoked you like it! Recommending products can be stressful. I don't want my viewers to be upset with stuff I suggest. I wouldn't be hyping it up if I didn't believe it's the best action camera for underwater video. Try boosting the stabilization until she gets more comfortable holding the camera. That could help. The downside to stabilization is the image is cropped, but I'd prefer that to shaky footage. Eventually, you can bring the stabilization down a bit with practice. I often render stabilization in post production to further smooth out my footage. Or I'll slow motion it and render stabilization. Slowing down the footage a bit allows you to keep the best few seconds and still get a solid 5-10 seconds of footage to work with. Film in 60fps and you can slow it down by 50% and still have smooth, consistent footage.

      Thanks for the advice! I was wondering what fps to use...
      Did you buy editing software or are you using a free version? There is alot to learn! She noticed how to improve her approach to thi gs she wants to show, so .... next time!
      We are bopefully going on a crab dive this weekend for dungies.

    • @PNWSamson
      @PNWSamson  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Dru338 nice man can't beat fresh crab! I use iMovie. It's free software that comes with apple. Super easy to use. I bought a used 2015 iMac with really good specs back in 2019. 27 inch screen etc. just as important as your editing software is your computer capabilities. Unfortunately I can film in anything greater than 60fps or my computer lags. A lot of people film in 1080p and with a lower bit rate just so their computer can process the files. In the world of editing, you're only as strong as your weakest link.

      Right, my daughter has a laptop we will use. It isnt a mac, but it will have to do. I got a recomendation for free software from the island spearo group i will try. Another part of this is so my daughter can edit and learn and get creative. Its good to know you use free stuff, it gives me an idea of what is possible for free if it all works well. Im not trying to be a youtuber i am trying to give my kid a way to be creative with a thing we can do togeather! This camera is a great adition. Thank you for your help and response!

    Nice video, one of my favorite spots although shore access has decayed over the years. There's some finger reefs off Dionisio which, at least the last time I was there, were absolutely loaded with fish. Not easy to dive there though. Virago Point use to be a super popular SCUBA spot when it was accessible from shore.

    • @PNWSamson
      @PNWSamson  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah, it's a shame that the spot isn't more accessible without a boat. You swing a mile to get there which is very commendable on your part! Porlier is one of my favorites too. We always anchor at the same spot though, I want to explore some different spots next time. I'll keep those locations in mind! Thanks Barrie, hope you had a great time over the holidays.

      @@PNWSamson If the roads were still open I would definitely drive to Porlier and let the fish do the swimming! Sadly both roads are now closed and have been for at least 10 years.

      @ I don’t know what the visibility’s would be like, especially a round the tip of the island, but the sealife is amazing. And we’ve caught halibut in 30 ft of water in places! I’d love to shoot one one day but I think Norway is the place to go to shoot a halibut!

    • @PNWSamson
