    To hook up any high-current accessory like a light bar using a rocker switch, you should always use a relay. The keyed accessory positive terminal on the far left of the busbar should only be used to close and open the circuit in the relay via the rocker switch.

    You can add a relay if want your light bar to turn off automatically. With the key. It is very common with adding accessories to any vehicle. 18 xpt dynamix 2 seater owner ;)

    Irritating all those kits come wired up so they only have the option of being wired to a keyed source for all their power. I too burnt out the fuse wiring a lighted whip and light bar off that post. I just switched it over to the battery post and rewired the back of the light so the led only comes on when the switch is on. I do like the idea of being able to turn on the light without the key on tho. Didn't think of wiring the way you suggested.

    Adding lights to my new 2019 Turbo S.....running aux lights key on, and adding a simple 30 amp Bosch relay off the "Key on" hot.....and running that to a 4 gang fuse block....

      Titantramp4u that’s what I eventually ended up doing. I bought a vent racing fuse block and love it.

      Were there any issues when you ran the auxiliary cable to your light switch? And when you ran the hot wire to the battery it will not drain your battery correct?

    • @BryanHansen

      Eddie Castaneda not at all. The switch was relayed.

    Hey again, I commented earlier and you responded. I figured I'd try my luck again. I switched my positive cable off of the left post to the right and it appears to be working, but my switch is staying lit like you said it would. I have a super ATV switch. Is it going to hurt my battery enough if it always stays on? Is there a simple fix?

    • @BryanHansen
      @BryanHansen  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is going to drain your battery and it won’t start. The simple fix is adding a relay like the video states.

  • @brysondouthit1245
    @brysondouthit1245 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wired mine exactly how you said not to because it's how superatv said to in their video and it worked for a couple nights but has now blown a fuse I'm sure and the winch and lightbar don't work. Where is the fuse/ what needs to be done to solve issue for when I rewire it?

    • @BryanHansen

      MrCovain every light bar is different. Mine drew more amps than yours because of make or size or whatever. That being said, it is still a 10 amp fuse. I also have a street legal kit that pulls some amps too. That might be it.

    So what your hookinh into for power in the front do you first need to run wires to that from your battery ??

    • @BryanHansen
      @BryanHansen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to run it one of two ways. The bus bar under the hood has an accessory post and a continuous power post. You need to run a relay that is powered to the switch off the accessory post and then the power off the relay to the continuous power post. If you don't run it to the continuous power post you need to run it direct to the battery, but you still want the switch ran to keyed accessory power.
