Thanks for putting this together! I just used this diagram and instructions to create my own wiring harness. It wasn't any cheaper than buying one premade for me because I didn't have any of the wiring or parts on hand, but if I ever need to make another, which I will, I have everything I need! Thanks again!

Know this was posted years ago. I have grounded to the Kawasaki Mule frame. In line fuze continues to blow as soon as it is inserted. All positive and negative wires (14 gauge) are soldered. Relay is used. At a loss. Harness came with LED light bar and two additional spots. Harness was not long enough so used 14 gauge to lengthen.

this guy is great, out of the 5 questions I had pertaining to my jeep (JK, but similarities amount many jeeps) 4 of them were answered so well I was able to do it myself. This most recent one here (wire harness) was great because my LED bar came with two fog lights as well and the wiring harness but the wing harness was cheap and i wanted to run the two fog lights and LED bar separately. Went to Advanced Auto and for $30 bought 3 packs of 14 gauge cable, connects, two fuses and relays and 30 amp fuses and was able to make the wiring harness go where I WANTED it to go as well as hook it up to the rockers I had bought.

An alternative method would be to use a remote starter solenoid for a Jeep or a Ford/Mercury mounted on the inner fender well. Then, get the necessary wire to hook up the circuitry. Use a switch rated at least 25 amps......50amps would be even better and an inline fuse holder that has the matching gauge wire leads for splicing into the current supply wire going to the switch. It wold also be a good idea to put a circuit breaker instead of a fuse, in the heavy gauge wire going from the solenoid to the lights. That way, if the lights were to be wrecked by a limb or some other object, that circuit breaker would cut the heavy current to the light structures.

If you have a switch with only 2 prongs you use the power wire coming from the relay and than you just have to ground it? is that correct? just not 100% sure because the way you showed it you have a 3 wrong switch. thank you.
