These are simple beauty! I love the way that you used the tissue and wire. I made 30 or 40 leaves after watching your earlier video. This is a perfect use for them. Great recycling idea! Last year I pressed some small oak and beech leaves, applied some colourless liquid shoe polish to soften them and then used a smear of gold and copper gilding wax - they would look great on these jars. Thanks for the inspiration!

If mine turned out half as well I would be worried in case they smudged or something later and were spoiled. I really don't bother with sealing anything much... I'm not trying to make art for the ages! Having said that, I have tags that I made years ago and they're all still fine. If you keep Distress Inks in daylight, they will fade, but with a little care in their storage, they'll last a long time.

I hope you caught the leaf-making videos, since you love them so much th-cam.com/video/BJmXvh4a7_4/w-d-xo.html I can certainly have a think about a vignette box - it won't be for some time though... there's a lot going on at the moment. In the meantime, take a look at this one from a couple of years back th-cam.com/video/7gjfr7mbvkc/w-d-xo.html The thing with a vignette box is that you can go as simple or as complicated as you want to. Start with something simple the first time, and then work your way up. Find a frame (mine was a deep photo frame from a dollar store type place), and paint it or cover it with paper. Create a background - mine is stamped with some of my acorn sketches, but again you could use patterned paper... and then just grab a couple of small bits and bobs to put in it. Once you start, you may find yourself gathering more and more. But you do just have to start! Have a great week.

Such a great recycle project d’art! Bravo. I will give them a try and may add the Paper Artsy Mattints for a lovely glow finish. For a holiday vibe, you could even sprinkle some Epsom salts along the jar onto glue of course. I have always wanted to try that. It would create a frosty glow, don’t you think? Thanks.😊

Water-based ink won't be permanent. You'll need to use an Archival or permanent ink. And regular tissue paper will depend on how thick it is. Flimsy paper won't work well with the wet glue to keep your images smooth, but will create quite an interesting textured effect. If it's quite thick, strong tissue paper, you might get it to work okay. The pre-printed collage papers I'm using here are pretty sturdy. On the ones where I've done my own stamping (the cornflowers and the cinnamon/orange/pinecone ones), that's actually tracing paper, not tissue paper. Really, the only way is to try out the supplies you've got and see what results you get... So happy you enjoyed the video and good luck with your playtime!
Love this idea❣, so many options for holidays and birthdays.🥀🌼🌷 One question, will using a real lighted candle create issues with the glue on the glass because of the heat. I will give these with battery candles but family may change them.
As you can see, I use mine with real tealights, and some of them were made over ten years ago. I have used them every year and have never encountered a problem.No battery candle can match the magic of real candlelight, I think, so I hope that helps. Have fun playing.

I can certainly have a think about a vignette box - it won't be for some time though... there's a lot going on at the moment. In the meantime, take a look at this one from a couple of years back th-cam.com/video/7gjfr7mbvkc/w-d-xo.html
The thing with a vignette box is that you can go as simple or as complicated as you want to. Start with something simple the first time, and then work your way up. Find a frame (mine was a deep photo frame from a dollar store type place), and paint it or cover it with paper. Create a background - mine is stamped with some of my acorn sketches, but again you could use patterned paper... and then just grab a couple of small bits and bobs to put in it. Once you start, you may find yourself gathering more and more. But you do just have to start!

Such a great recycle project d’art! Bravo. I will give them a try and may add the Paper Artsy Mattints for a lovely glow finish. For a holiday vibe, you could even sprinkle some Epsom salts along the jar onto glue of course. I have always wanted to try that. It would create a frosty glow, don’t you think? Thanks.😊

Well, first I would have to film one... all of those mixed media ones were made years before I started any filming for TH-cam. That's what I was asking in the video, whether people are interested in that. I guess you are!!

Water-based ink won't be permanent. You'll need to use an Archival or permanent ink.
And regular tissue paper will depend on how thick it is. Flimsy paper won't work well with the wet glue to keep your images smooth, but will create quite an interesting textured effect. If it's quite thick, strong tissue paper, you might get it to work okay. The pre-printed collage papers I'm using here are pretty sturdy. On the ones where I've done my own stamping (the cornflowers and the cinnamon/orange/pinecone ones), that's actually tracing paper, not tissue paper.
Really, the only way is to try out the supplies you've got and see what results you get... So happy you enjoyed the video and good luck with your playtime!

Love this idea❣, so many options for holidays and birthdays.🥀🌼🌷 One question, will using a real lighted candle create issues with the glue on the glass because of the heat. I will give these with battery candles but family may change them.
As you can see, I use mine with real tealights, and some of them were made over ten years ago. I have used them every year and have never encountered a problem.No battery candle can match the magic of real candlelight, I think, so I hope that helps. Have fun playing.
