It's probably the equivalent of a regular house cat getting annoyed with you, they'll hiss at you, or scratch, claw, or bite you because they're irritated or want their alone time. House cats who do that definitely hold back when using their strength against you, they could scratch or bite you harder if they wanted. With a Lynx or a big cat though, even when it's holding back on you, it'll definitely hurt a lot more than a regular house cat lol
The closest thing to an exotic cat I've owned is a Bengal. She was quite a docile grade of Bengal but I wouldn't do it again. She was adorable but at the same time terrifying on a wrong day

Something that has been domesticated for at least a few centuries, and you can find some quick and easy online tutorial guides for. Exotic critters that can potentially unalive you do not come with _For Dummies_ books, because ONLY an idiot buys one.

You don't mock the animal, especially when it's angry. You don't know how they read it or what you may be 'saying' in their minds so don't mock them. It upsets them further and that's how you get hurt. That's why you don't bark back at dogs if they aren't your own; it's very, very upsetting to them. This is no different.
