    Good info brotha! I’m planning on tackling this job soon, started smelling like oil was burning after I parked. Sure enough it’s the valve cover gasket leaking. Mine is the 2013 2.5L ats . Might have to post up a video on it to help out some people as well. There’s nothing really out there. Again good instructions 👍🏼

    Easier to access the bolt by taking windshield wipers and arm brace watch this vid th-cam.com/video/6N5__vv52y8/w-d-xo.html. till he shows the Vaccum pump gone the bolts are real easy but the third one on the left side I bought a universal joint and used a breaker bar (not tight at all) and put the universal joint along w the 10 mm socket that way you get it in the hole then attach your breaker bar be careful too drop the joint and that it moves out of place when attaching your breaker bar I was trying through the top and w the breaker bar and then I tried it from the bottom got it in like 3 mins. I was stalling on doing this bc of the Vaccum pump thirdbolt but not too bad

    • @TheMixtapeLegend
      @TheMixtapeLegend 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kenobious you have to unbolt the transmission mount, I literally just did it now. Once you do you’ll have enough clearance to take the cover off. Remove the pump from the cover and slide it down and to the right. Just shimmy it through and move the tubes and wire harness out the way

    • @TheMixtapeLegend

      Kenobious yeah literally just now, I had to drop the transmission mount from the frame to get enough clearance!

    • @Kenobious
      @Kenobious 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s what I kind of figured I’m exactly at that point where I have the valve cover loose but I lack the vertical clearance. Which bolts on the bottom did you end up doing exactly. I’m working on a 13 2.0T auto

    • @TheMixtapeLegend
      @TheMixtapeLegend 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kenobious there are 2 bolts on each side of the brace (4 in total). Place the jack under the mount to keep the weight off the bolts, unbolt them and place them aside and then lower the jack. Go to the valve cover and shimmy that out as well but make sure the pump is out and disconnected from the block (from the earlier message) then it should finally come off. It’s the most stupidest fucking design I’ve ever seen in my life, never have I ever had to drop a transmission brace to get the valve cover off but it’s GM and this motor was used in a lot of they’re cars so I suspect they didn’t really plan that out.

    • @Kenobious
      @Kenobious 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I know. It took me forever to get the vacuum pump off and all the stuff leading to the valve cover.

      Oh yea, that was super annoying, i was able to remove the 2 clips on top using a tool i had to buy to remove those. Then, i think i ended up ripping off whatever was holding it down at the bottom because i kinda tugged at it and moved it around from side to side to get it out. • @elborja9544
      @elborja9544  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@aaronscottescobedo the vacuum pump? I used a 10mm deep socket with a 1/4 ratchet. It has 3 screws. The last one is pretty tough, but i found it easier to put my left over the top of the engine and have the ratchet lever on right of the engine. It takes a lot of ratcheting because there isnt enough space, but keep going and it will come off. Once you get all bolts out, there is a plastic clip on the back holding some wire harnes in place, you could try to to get a tool back there to remove it or jus cut the clip. The vacuum pump pulls straight out.
