I really enjoy how fashion pairings come together to become a beautiful outfit. I keep my leftover fabric for little projects like tanks, little toppers, accents, etc. it’s all precious fabric as you say :-)
Thank you for this sew along! It was perfect. I just finished my skirt and love it. You made the parts that I always think are fiddly and difficult, easy!
Great minds think alike! I have this PDF at the printers as I watch this. And I have the Rosie Cardigan by Sinclair, ready to put together! Your videos couldn't be timed better for me. Thank you!
A friend of mine has a lovely skirt that she bought some years ago that has panels of corduroy and tweed. As soon as I saw this pattern, I knew it would be perfect to make my own version of that skirt and came to your channel to check it out. The skirt with your Poas jacket looks so smart and I also love it with the Rosy cardigan (I just bought that pattern yesterday after watching your video).
When I saw this pattern drop in my email I hurried over here in hopes you had sewed this up and had an aff link and I’m not disappointed!! This style is right up my street ! Your version is beautifully made as always!
Hi Karina. Thanks for this great tutorial. I am just wondering if I could line this skirt and how would I do this? Each panel individually or sew up a skirt in the lining fabric then attach to main skirt.
Great video! I'm so glad I found it before sewing my Quebrada. What is the reason for straight stitching and then serging instead of just serging it at the seam allowance?
Only serging is just for knit fabric. A woven left only with the serger only has a 1/4” seam allowance in the end and over time, with the stress of wear, you’ll end up with holes. Wovens need the sewing machine and the serger is only to finish the edges.
Thank you for this! The skirt is beautiful. I have a quick technical question. When you clipped the curve in the waistband seam allowance, did you clip the selvedge tape as well as the fashion fabric? Or just the fashion fabric? Thanks!
Yes but I would not make it with super super stretchy denim. The fit changes. You still need to interface the facing with non stretch to eliminate the stretch there…. Otherwise the skirt would fall off.

Sounds great! have a lot of fun :-)
Beautiful skirt Karina , and like you I too dislike invisible zippers, in fact I never use them !
I have a physical reaction against them lol
Lovely as usual. I have just enough embossed faux leather that has been in my stash for eons that might work.
Thanks!

Thank you Karina. Your finished projects are always so neat. Love your combat shoes too. xxxx
Thank you so much!

Karina, this skirt is so lovely! A perfect style match to your Poas Jacket. I hope you make a long version in a flowy fabric😊

So pretty - love the panels, can we colour-block, or mix in lace (with interfacing) ? The purple set is my fav. - super cool😊

@@LiftingPinsandNeedles Thank you so much! I don't know how I didn't know this! I believe my garments just stepped up.

Just the linen and not the selvedge. It was a small snip :)
Hiya Karina, would a upcycled stretch denim work?
Yes but I would not make it with super super stretchy denim. The fit changes. You still need to interface the facing with non stretch to eliminate the stretch there…. Otherwise the skirt would fall off.
