I have had a united cutlery Bowie knife and it has held up great, I have had it for years, the hatchet on the other hand has chipped, and was poor quality out of the box :(
I love that knife for real! I honestly think it is as good as any Benchmade or other high end knife I own. In my opinion it's definitely worth getting if you're thinking about it. It's a really solid knife.

I'm not about to tell you that you're wrong, because you're not. The reason I keep this box is first so I can do the unboxing and make fun of it. Believe it or not it's fun. But every once in a while there's one cool item or diamond in the rough to discover, you know? It's exciting to have no idea what's in the box and then open it up and see. But trust me, I have no illusion here - 98% of this stuff is just throw away. I give most of it to guys I work with for fun and games and stuff.
I don't understand teh whole paper test with a knife/dagger/anything bigger, It's not supposed to be a scalpel, yes I can see why you;d do that with a knife, but with a dagger or something else, they're weapons, not soemthing for everyday tasks, no matter how good or bad soemthing cuts paper, it still can kill someone/something , sorry for bad spelling of things
It's a simple test to see how well something comes out of the factory. Think of it as just a quick look at how well finished it is. In reality, we can put a razor's edge on any blade, regardless of how it comes from the factory, right? But the paper test is just a measure of how well a company sends out it's product.
