Oh, my goodness, yes! I have been devastated that he quit in 2007, Hollywood is a tough business and he got stuck in B movies, never skyrocketed. At the time he quit, he was still so marketable as an actor too. In his last film he did, he would’ve made a great version of Batman and/or a Liam Nielsen “Taken” character type. I’d say he had the most potential as an actor and so many years went to waste.
Johnny and Daniel had their badass moments in this season for sure...but Chozen and Silver outright steal the show. This was truly a clash of the titans.
Chosen had him beat but turned his back for a second bc he heard Johnny is distress and that's what silver needed to cut him down and Barnes saved Johnny's life after being knocked out I'm happy chosen survived that attack from silver and they wrote it that way so Daniel can get his payback
I was just happy he was alive he was my favorite out of Daniel's rival and to see them team up is fantastic and how much he has changed from karate kid 2 to now made me happy
Not really, there was no history between the 2, unlike the rivalry of daniel vs silver.. that endfight was the greatest fight of all cobra kai seasons!

From a perspective of who is the better fighter i can see what you mean, but even then i would say i would go for johnny vs mike.. dont forget daniel won the fight against chozen, chozen was never unbeatable.. he was a pain in the ass that got schooled when it truly mattered. Same goes with terry, his fighying style was too obvious those way too easy to defend all that show lol.. those high kicks where all for show, no efficiency at all.. nah, you had mr miyagi on 1.. and the rest is debateable and not far from eachother.. but yeah ofcourse almost everyone defeated eachother at least once, but whe it really mattered it was daniel who won his death battles..
He really was exceptional in that role and most of these actors haven't done much after the original films. He is my favorite character in this season!
The return of Thomas Ian Griffith's Terry Silver has been one of the best aspects of this show so far, not overly familiar with the actor outside of that character but he's seemed to have grown so much as an actor, really built on that cartoon type villain from Karate Kid 3 to a chewing the scenery, generally disturbed megalomaniac who isn't afraid to put kids in harms way, burn buildings to the ground and even kill to get ahead, he really upped the stakes of this season. Great villain and great performance 👏👏👏
Thomas Ian Griffith's performance in Cobra Kai is even more amazing when you find out that he actually retired from acting 14 years before, and liked the idea of reprising his role as Terry Silver so much that he came out of a long retirement to play the role again!

Also, I now remember him playing the master Vampire Valek in John Carpenter's Vampires though he didn't have much screen time in that one. The massacre at the Motel with him was pretty badass though
Well it's not surprising - I remember seeing him in a DCOM, where he played the father of the main protagonist, and he spoke perfect English. And, not forgetting the fact that he was born in LA, so.... 🤷🏿♂
It’s truly amazing how Terry Silver has gone from over-the-top cartoon villain in Karate Kid III to serious, dangerous 4D chess genius in a Cobra Kai. It’s quite remarkable and just shows you the writing and acting talent on display in this show. And speaking of Karate Kid III, it’s so satisfying to see how legitimized it has become the last two seasons with all the crucial characters and callbacks that have steered the plot forward. Much like Terry Silver’s character, it has gone from a joke and pariah of the series to serious and important.
No season 6 it went full circle great show I loved it but anymore nah it ended on a great note! The next karate kid sucked everyone got props there's no more props to give.

There's Barnes with his furniture store restitution, Krease on the run, Carmen's pregnancy, The International Tournament, Chozen and Kumiko, Stingray's perjury, Kim Da-Eun defending her father's legacy, Kenny's loss of mentor, what will Miyagi-do/Eagle Fang be called on their merger? There's a good notion that when the writers tie off these lose ends, it will be done in a very satisfying way for audiences and fans alike.
Silver is dying btw. That’s why he happened to be at the hospital when he bumped into Johnny at the elevator and why he keeps saying he’s not afraid of dying and wants to pass on his legacy. We will explore this in season 6 and 7.
Man, these guys had PART of a movie back in the 80s and nailed it back then. Now, in long-form, we see their acting chops at full menace! Brilliant writing, legendary acting, timeless story.
As a fan of the Karate Kid franchise, this is so rewarding! Thomas Ian Griffith, William Zabka, Ralph, ect are some of the best men in Hollowood i think! it's also great to see Yuji get to expand and amplify his role as Chozen! They all have great spirits! All of their success is very well deserved!

I think the creators of this show did a fantastic job getting every original cast member together. Even minor ones who was in like 1 scene. Like that little girl Daniel saved in part 2. They could have half assed it and recast that girl but they loved the movies that much.

these two are such great actors it just amazes me that they didnt get more roles in between there Karate Kid movies and Cobra Kai. the writers really kept their characters so damn interesting they are the freakin mvp's of the season especially Chozen....wow its awesome to know that Miyagi Do has a proper ass kicking side that can be as agressive as cobra kai.
Started Karate myself a few years back, just watched the movies for the first time since getting into it, its pretty cool to be able to follow the fight scenes and know whats going on now, Just halfway through kk3 and just realized Thomas Ian Griffith was a savage martial artist, His crescent kicks in the movie are fk'in PERFECT.
Chozen’s story ark over the period of almost 36 years is amazing to see and something I’m sure most of us can relate to. A lot of us did things or acted in a way we regret during our youth but hope that once we are grown we regain our honour. Please let Kumiko return that answer phone message Chozen left her 🙏
Chozen in season 5 was absolutely fantastic (character arc and acting) I was amazed. Super nice quality from all the actors, thank you for such a fun show.
Random fact: Martin Kove (Kreese) goes to the same dry cleaners as me. I ran into him one day, and he stopped what he was doing, went to his car, and came back with an autographed picture personalized to my name.
Random fact: I remember I met Yuji Okumoto literally about 10 years ago when I was in Seattle at a restaurant and my best friend told me do you know who that is? And I was like uhh 🙄 uhh no freaking clue. And he said dude have you ever seen karate kid 2? I was like well yeah duh 🙄 and he said that’s the character who played Chozen the villain and I was like what? And so I walked up to him casually and asked him for an autograph and he looked at me with a smile and said sure in perfect English and I was blown away how super nice he was and even talked to us for like 25 minutes about the filming of the karate kid 2 and how him and Daniel Laruso aka Ralph Macchio became real close like brothers.
Silver is so magnetic man he still generating such an impact as a character...Chosen is such a key to Cobra Kai...its epic story telling at its best! COBRA KAI STRIKES FIRST STRIKES HARD AND HAS NO MERCY FOR OTHER SHOWS IN PRODUCTION...
I'd like to believe that maybe Daniel get heavily injured , and by the end of the series.... Chozen with his balance intact can continue teaching onwards once the show ever ends
Rumor has it that he does get badly injured at the end of the season and the black eye he got in the trailer was way before that! And that's when Julie appears as a cameo. we'll just have to wait and see 🤷🏻♂️

The battle these 2 had was so awesome. I loved the scene in KK3 with Mr Miyagi and Silver, but this one went over another level. I just wished after we found out that Chozen wasn't dead, that they would have given us a surprise with Kumiko, since he confessed his love for after all these years.
Thomas and Yuji are terrific bad guy actors! I cannot believe how good they were and still are at their craft and being such great martial arts experts it is just amazing!!! I loved Karate Kid 1, 2, 3 and now I am so excited about the Cobra Kai series!! Keep up the great work you guys!
I honestly can't even binge watch this show. It's that good and it takes my eyes off my phone for once and glued to the tv. They should probably release each episode per week so we cannot finish it in 1 day. Amazing show with talented young actors too and stranger things too. I felt like I didn't waste money subscribing to netflix. 😅
I know it's incredible! I started watching from season 4 so I'm a little late to the show but that doesn't take away for how good the show is for me. I have my hopes really high for season 6.
In season 5 , you can clearly see that Johnny & Chosen now look up to Daniel because he fought for what he believes in , both of them seeing what he did in the past & both Johnny & Chosen bragging to each other about Daniels accomplishments throughout both of their life’s . I hope if there’s a season 6 hopefully , I hope it brings more people into the fray .
One point that wasn't really touched on that much, is this:Just where will Sensei Kreese fit in? Or will he? He's definitely got it in for Terry Silver, but he's been rejected by Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence. Here's an idea: What if he teams up with Chozen somehow, and he kind of works, from a kind of an off-center position, to destroy what he has seen Cobra Kai become...and then he begins to re-build Cobra Kai his way? Without all of the fancy stuff and gadgets that Terry Silver brought in? He begins to re-build Cobra Kai, the way that he started it, in the first place. No add-ons, no junk... just...true Cobra Kai training, like it was back in the "Good old days"? There's still room and interest, to see what Sensei Kreese will do, now that he's escaped from Prison. If I were him, I'd go into hiding for awhile...kinda let things cool off. Then, he could re-surface elsewhere, and begin again! There's so many things that could happen with his storyline.

Plus both cobra Kai & Miyagi doe are about to perform on a world stage , this is going to be bigger than the both of them now , & if you can remember there was another karate kid movie after karate kid III the next karate kid with Hilary swank & she is Miyagi cannon also so somehow she’s going to come into the fray too & she was on the east coast not California so how’s that going to play in to the series.

Thomas Ian Griffith and Martin Kove are both actors who should have been in more movies. They played their roles so perfectly that the "villains" ended up with loyal followers over the decades - including me. John Kreese is my favorite character with Terry Silver number two - because Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith played their roles so perfectly. One thing that I wish would have been different in the Cobra Kai TV series is that the writers should have made the hair of Terry Silver black like it was in Karate Kid 3. Thomas Ian Griffth looks exactly the way he did in 1989 when Karate Kid 3 was released. So does Martin Kove. The John Kreese character was allowed to die his hair the same color as it was in in the Karate Kid movies, but the Terry Silver character was not. That doesn't seem fair.
Thomas plays a awesome villain that's the skill of a great actor,Yuji becoming the good guy was so great to see in cobra Kai,again another wonderful actor.
I sure hope we can get several more seasons. This is such an awesome show and they are doing everything right. It's my favorite show and I love all the characters. So awesome.
Chozen brought back the philosophical and emotional center that Mr. Miyagi brought from the KK I & II. Silver brought a new layer of Machiavellian darkness. Thomas's take on the absurdity of it all is right on point. I mean, come on, the amount of teen-on-teen violence piled on with adult-on-teen violence is ridiculous. But I felt this season in particular tied a lot of emotional elements together.
Lucasfilm, Marvel and Disney can learn alot from the creators of Cobra Kai about bringing any franchise to today's audiences successfully while still respecting the long time multi-decades fandom! Well done everyone, Cobra Kai rules!
My only issues with this season: 1. Barnes got watered down 2. The master senseis were skilled enough for one to fight Johnny and Chozen at the same time, but in the end Johnny was bulldozing through them on his own
1. Well when he initially came out he was but it was cool he got in a fight with Chozen a matchup we never saw before all due to a missunderstanding but still cool fight then he was done pissed off in the final episode. 2. Johnny Lawrence was going off pure adrenaline like a Grandma pickup a car he would have been able to beat Prime Tyson and Prime Ali the way he was going.
Given how KK3 was criticized for being too derivative, Mike being like a rent-a-bully rehash of Johnny, it makes sense to have more contrast now: Johnny couldn't move on from a high school defeat but Mike got on with life.
I am so grateful that this show is a rare diamond. It is one of three shows (Cobra Kai, The Blacklist, House of the Dragon) I will be watching this fall.
Karate Kid III to me was the most disappointing out of the original trilogy but the inescapable fact is that Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver is the backbone and ultimately the main redeeming feature of that movie. He is by far the real star of that movie, even if he is the bad guy being a highly sophisticated and calculated yet ruthless enemy. It is beyond a dream to see Cobra Kai bringing the original magic back again.
I swear I had the same reaction with Chozens actor speaking as I did with Mr Miyagi's actor speaking. Its insane how well they played their parts to the point of actually sounding "natural" on broken English
That final crane kick was still illegal... but I guess so was all of Terry's actions all throughout the entire season, so yeah... You reap what you sow !
This was a fantastic season!!! This was kind of the Endgame of Karate Kid & Cobra Kai!!! All were great, at the end Laruso, Johnny were amazing!!! But, Chozen and Silver were Legendary Epic !!!

Chozen Toguchi is my current favorite character. Yuji Okumoto is incredible! He really adds a lot to the show.

these two are such great actors it just amazes me that they didnt get more roles in between there Karate Kid movies and Cobra Kai. the writers really kept their characters so damn interesting they are the freakin mvp's of the season especially Chozen....wow its awesome to know that Miyagi Do has a proper ass kicking side that can be as agressive as cobra kai.
Started Karate myself a few years back, just watched the movies for the first time since getting into it, its pretty cool to be able to follow the fight scenes and know whats going on now, Just halfway through kk3 and just realized Thomas Ian Griffith was a savage martial artist, His crescent kicks in the movie are fk'in PERFECT.
Chozen’s story ark over the period of almost 36 years is amazing to see and something I’m sure most of us can relate to. A lot of us did things or acted in a way we regret during our youth but hope that once we are grown we regain our honour. Please let Kumiko return that answer phone message Chozen left her 🙏

Chozen in season 5 was absolutely fantastic (character arc and acting) I was amazed. Super nice quality from all the actors, thank you for such a fun show.
Random fact: Martin Kove (Kreese) goes to the same dry cleaners as me. I ran into him one day, and he stopped what he was doing, went to his car, and came back with an autographed picture personalized to my name.
Random fact: I remember I met Yuji Okumoto literally about 10 years ago when I was in Seattle at a restaurant and my best friend told me do you know who that is? And I was like uhh 🙄 uhh no freaking clue. And he said dude have you ever seen karate kid 2? I was like well yeah duh 🙄 and he said that’s the character who played Chozen the villain and I was like what? And so I walked up to him casually and asked him for an autograph and he looked at me with a smile and said sure in perfect English and I was blown away how super nice he was and even talked to us for like 25 minutes about the filming of the karate kid 2 and how him and Daniel Laruso aka Ralph Macchio became real close like brothers.
I love that Chozen has taken on the Mr Myagi role as it relates to Daniel.
Seeing the face off between Chozen & Terry Silver is going to be dope
Silver is so magnetic man he still generating such an impact as a character...Chosen is such a key to Cobra Kai...its epic story telling at its best! COBRA KAI STRIKES FIRST STRIKES HARD AND HAS NO MERCY FOR OTHER SHOWS IN PRODUCTION...

Chosen had the edge, script-wise. Amanda, Johnny and Stingray also had great dialogue. Daniel and Silver's fight was awesome af!!!

I really hope that, in the coming Kobra Kai seasons, these actors return and stay permanently. They really made season 5 EPIC!!!

Rumor has it that he does get badly injured at the end of the season and the black eye he got in the trailer was way before that! And that's when Julie appears as a cameo. we'll just have to wait and see 🤷🏻♂️

Karate kid was a great show to watch there were so many great actors and actresses on the show
The battle these 2 had was so awesome. I loved the scene in KK3 with Mr Miyagi and Silver, but this one went over another level. I just wished after we found out that Chozen wasn't dead, that they would have given us a surprise with Kumiko, since he confessed his love for after all these years.
Thomas and Yuji are terrific bad guy actors! I cannot believe how good they were and still are at their craft and being such great martial arts experts it is just amazing!!! I loved Karate Kid 1, 2, 3 and now I am so excited about the Cobra Kai series!! Keep up the great work you guys!
I honestly can't even binge watch this show. It's that good and it takes my eyes off my phone for once and glued to the tv. They should probably release each episode per week so we cannot finish it in 1 day.
Amazing show with talented young actors too and stranger things too. I felt like I didn't waste money subscribing to netflix. 😅
I know it's incredible! I started watching from season 4 so I'm a little late to the show but that doesn't take away for how good the show is for me. I have my hopes really high for season 6.
I wish they would do it like disney plus just so we keep it extended and not watch in 1 day then have to sit and wait....
The ultimate finale needs to be a full length feature on the big screen
In season 5 , you can clearly see that Johnny & Chosen now look up to Daniel because he fought for what he believes in , both of them seeing what he did in the past & both Johnny & Chosen bragging to each other about Daniels accomplishments throughout both of their life’s . I hope if there’s a season 6 hopefully , I hope it brings more people into the fray .
One point that wasn't really touched on that much, is this:Just where will Sensei Kreese fit in? Or will he? He's definitely got it in for Terry Silver, but he's been rejected by Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence.
Here's an idea: What if he teams up with Chozen somehow, and he kind of works, from a kind of an off-center position, to destroy what he has seen Cobra Kai become...and then he begins to re-build Cobra Kai his way? Without all of the fancy stuff and gadgets that Terry Silver brought in? He begins to re-build Cobra Kai, the way that he started it, in the first place. No add-ons, no junk... just...true Cobra Kai training, like it was back in the "Good old days"?
There's still room and interest, to see what Sensei Kreese will do, now that he's escaped from Prison. If I were him, I'd go into hiding for awhile...kinda let things cool off.
Then, he could re-surface elsewhere, and begin again!
There's so many things that could happen with his storyline.

Remember now Johnny hates him & Kreese is going to do whatever he can to get back at Johnny & Daniel . Kreese has a score to settle with Daniel because when Daniel paralyzed him . Plus both cobra Kai & Miyagi doe are about to perform on a world stage , this is going to be bigger than the both of them now , & if you can remember there was another karate kid movie after karate kid III the next karate kid with Hilary swank & she is Miyagi cannon also so somehow she’s going to come into the fray too & she was on the east coast not California so how’s that going to play in to the series.

I never knew i needed to see Chozen face off against Terry Silver. Then Cobra Kai comes along.
Thomas Ian Griffith and Martin Kove are both actors who should have been in more movies. They played their roles so perfectly that the "villains" ended up with loyal followers over the decades - including me. John Kreese is my favorite character with Terry Silver number two - because Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith played their roles so perfectly. One thing that I wish would have been different in the Cobra Kai TV series is that the writers should have made the hair of Terry Silver black like it was in Karate Kid 3. Thomas Ian Griffth looks exactly the way he did in 1989 when Karate Kid 3 was released. So does Martin Kove. The John Kreese character was allowed to die his hair the same color as it was in in the Karate Kid movies, but the Terry Silver character was not. That doesn't seem fair.
Cobra Kai is just getting better and better every season with character development and awesome plot.
I never got to see Sting vs Undertaker...But all these years later I finally got to see Silver/Chozen. Well worth the wait

I sure hope we can get several more seasons. This is such an awesome show and they are doing everything right. It's my favorite show and I love all the characters. So awesome.

Loved seeing the expansion of the original characters i would like to say thank you to the cast for a job well done on season 5.
Chozen brought back the philosophical and emotional center that Mr. Miyagi brought from the KK I & II. Silver brought a new layer of Machiavellian darkness. Thomas's take on the absurdity of it all is right on point. I mean, come on, the amount of teen-on-teen violence piled on with adult-on-teen violence is ridiculous. But I felt this season in particular tied a lot of emotional elements together.
This finale was the absolute BEST ONE YET besides season 2 & 1!!!!

My only issues with this season:
1. Barnes got watered down
2. The master senseis were skilled enough for one to fight Johnny and Chozen at the same time, but in the end Johnny was bulldozing through them on his own
1. Well when he initially came out he was but it was cool he got in a fight with Chozen a matchup we never saw before all due to a missunderstanding but still cool fight then he was done pissed off in the final episode. 2. Johnny Lawrence was going off pure adrenaline like a Grandma pickup a car he would have been able to beat Prime Tyson and Prime Ali the way he was going.

Given how KK3 was criticized for being too derivative, Mike being like a rent-a-bully rehash of Johnny, it makes sense to have more contrast now: Johnny couldn't move on from a high school defeat but Mike got on with life.

The MVPs of the season .
Karate Kid III to me was the most disappointing out of the original trilogy but the inescapable fact is that Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver is the backbone and ultimately the main redeeming feature of that movie. He is by far the real star of that movie, even if he is the bad guy being a highly sophisticated and calculated yet ruthless enemy.
It is beyond a dream to see Cobra Kai bringing the original magic back again.
