One reason this show has been so successful is that it seems to everybody working on it...in front of and behind the camera, seem to enjoy working together on its production so much. I sense that everybody involved in the show loves being part of it. There are no BS controversies, ego clashes, etc., and the high quality product that we get on the screen is a reflection of that united purpose. If only all endeavors (both inside and out of show business) could go so well.

Almost 40 years old and I've been a fan of the franchise since I was young. This show hits all the bells and whistles. Nostalgia, Antagonist becoming the Protagonist and working together, fighting styles being described and given a background, ALL the villains coming back and working together. A nice marriage of the old school with the new school. It just works. Thank you for producing a great TV show spinoff. 11/10 stars

the first Cobra Kai glimpse of Thomas Ian Griffith back as Silver was him playing a monstrous, dramatic piano and then the phone buzzes, it's Kreese, hangs up... keeps playing beautifully. That moment set the scene for all of it. He's truly gifted as an actor and the writers just gave him the best stuff to work with!

i use to watch Yuji all the time before Karate Kid 2 because he had small but great parts in "Better Off Dead" and "Real Genius" , and afterwards i mostly remember him in an episode of the short lived series "Vanishing Son" which i really liked and seems impossible to find now.
THANKS for KK movies! we felt in love with, my 3 sons and i. Now i am 78 and in love with CK! So thankful to the creators, so happy all main and loved actors-characters are alive and accepted to be part of CK! It is wonderful to see faces we knew in KK. We honor the stories. We see the characters from KK to grow, change, and continue the saga. We mourn Mr. Pat Morita. Three generations of fans, Mary Rosa, sons Jans, Rodrigo, Daniel, grandchildren Alex and Toni. They just met some actor of CK at Comic Con SLC, Utah, last week! Now we have photos of them! We appreciate ALL people involved in KK and CK!!! Thanks!
It's sad to know that season 6 could or would be the last season, for a show that has brought so much joy and nostalgia for many people, happy times sad times, will come to an end. Well done and god bless all the writers and producers who had a hand in bringing back this great hit frm the 80s, im 53 now and ive loved every episode of it.Thanks
@@3912James to be fair, it's pretty impressive to take up martial arts in your fifties, having not done anything like it since your twenties, especially with the short period of time they have for training. I think anyone would look 'laughably robotic' in that situation. He looks fine to me, but I don't do martial arts. I don't think they are ever going to please everybody - there can't be that many actors who are also accomplished martial artists and it just wouldn't have worked with another actor playing Daniel.
Excellent interviews; I liked how you responded to their answers instead of just responding with "yeah" or "ah." I know sometimes you kinda have to, but it's nice to follow up with a short response that really connects you to the interviewee. Loved season 5 and I can't wait to see what's next for this series!
What's great about Cobra Kai is the show is self aware of how ridiculous the story can be but the cast and the story didn't half-ass themselves to still tell a coherent story. When they used Nostalgia bombing to engage fans, they didn't do so without backing it uo with good storylines like Terry's return and "redemption" only to be the villain again. The easter eggs, the character development and the new actors performance is both exciting and endearing.
Good question about their input on the show, I always wondered about that. So nostalgic to see all these guys again, the villains from the original movies. I see it as a soap opera too, some of the kids storylines get repetitive to me but I can stomach it, they do a good job of balancing it all. Can't wait for Mike Barnes return!
Well, the return of Ian will always lie in the dark, deep shadow of the mess that was the Sequel trilogy, while the return of the amazing Terry has been nothing short of glorious. So, keep doing it guys!

It's good to talk about the show never to attack them in real life because of feelings about a particular character. I.e. attacking iron sheikh because you think he really tries to burn the American flag like pro wrestling fanatics back in the 80s thought.
Who ever came up with the idea and brought Chozen and Terry Silver into cobra kai needs a massive pat on the back this 5th season has been the best and these two have made the prog better that it already is
Its fun to see the actors talk about their role and the fun they have working together I bet there is a lot of camaraderie on the set and lots of friendship. This reminds me of the movie Slap Shot (i met several actors of the movie and even after 45 years they still have fun being together and talk about the fun they had while filming) I bet its like that on Cobra Kai Can’t wait to see the new season but before I do I have a karate kid marathon to do 😉

its interesting cause daniel wants to remember miyagi so much but johnny so wants to forget kreese....i think for the character of johnny it seems that he ultimately wont find peace until he accepts kreese as he is and accept the fact that kreese will always be the way he is....kind of like that drunk obnoxious uncle that just have to accept is your relative...in this case its him accepting that kreese may always be an asshole but is a big part of his development in his karate as well as overall confidence to protect himself.
Johnny's finally done that already. The only way Johnny will find real peace is if he actually starts CARING about his OWN KID, nobody should believe his arc in season 5 because it's forced.
I feel there is something there between Barnes and Silver. Sure enough, Johnny bonds in an unusual way, and then johnny (sarcastically) sells a woke version of the Rembrandt to authors not knowing he was serious, and then becomes indebted to Mike Barnes for getting the store back. Only to discover that Terry stole the Rembandt and wants it back, engaging Mike Banes rescuing Daniel from a house fire. (No one could have known?) Something happens with either Robby or Tory having a change of heart while in jail, Tory knows that Kreese is still alive and is armed with the only knowledge who can end Kreese and Cobra Kai forever, sacrificing one of the kids and a major event. Tory is the only one who has talked with them both and is knowing what they're planning. Terry Silver gets escapes out of prison, and after Daniel, Johnny, and Chozen get tied up in a plot where Kreese are about to kill all three, Terry Silver redeems himself, and attacks on "two fronts"...him directly attacking, while mike barnes has a squad of goons (kim dae soong?) up against him, but karate's bad boy had nothing he couldn't handle. He sets them free, but tells them there is a bomb. Keeps fighting knowing it is the end for him, but 1 year later, it is revealed that one of them survives. Who will it be?

I'm now seeing 1 minute clips of Season 5 on TH-cam....I'm going to PURPOSELY avoid watching those clips until after I watch Season 5 of Cobra Kai.
