    Thanks for testing the P2! I love my LR RWD SM and have done 14,000 km road tripping around Australia since getting it three months ago. It has fantastic range and is very efficient and amazing to drive. The Google planner always seems to overestimate consumption and then I get there with at least 10 per cent more charge!

      Why didnt he check how the battery preheat works before departure is a big amateur error.Its common sense to preheat battery before a long drive during winter.This car got that option when setting departure time.

    Live in Oslo now, but go back to Hemsedal atleast every few months. Our current Q4 can make the trip one way, but not the return. Next car will have to be able to do it with the return so we don't have to charge when we arrive, but that's probably not for another 2-3 years before we switch. Going to be exciting to see what kind of ranges we'll get by then.

    Hi Bjorn! Regarding the Tesla's summer/winter battery capacity - I have some stats of my Model 3 LR 2020 in Tessie and it usually drops during winter to around 69.5 kWh and in summer it grows up to around 73 kWh, so temperature definitely affects the capacity of Tesla batteries too.

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's not what I get when I test many different Teslas. In recent test now, I got 74.6 kWh from 100 % to 0 % in Highland. And this was in -9°C.

    • @petrkocandrle3779
      @petrkocandrle3779 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@bjornnyland It might be because you park the car in the garage, so the battery is soaked with heat and you also preaheat it. I park outside in freezing cold temperatures and almost never preheat the car.

    • @nelcomm
      @nelcomm 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@petrkocandrle3779That will certainly impact the capacity. If you preheat the car/battery, it will be closer in summer and winter, but if you dont preheat it, then the weather conditions can impact it.

    There is a good difference in road speeds in Norway compared to Sweden. As you say in the video, the road allows 80 km/h, but the Norwegians still insist on driving at 60 km/h. It really goes mostly at 60 km/h on the roads in Norway.

  • @renebergqvist599
    @renebergqvist599 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    The impedance of the battery is temperature dependent - so unless you pre-heat the battery you will have ohmic losses with a cold battery. In addition there is a cut-off voltage which will be hit at less discharged Ah. This further limits the usable energy.

    The polestar seems to have quite aggressive climate control on auto, putting it on eco mode saves quite a bit of energy. The only time it doesn't work well is when it rains outside, or there is high humidity, because then the windows will fog up. This EV looks so old by now. The real reason why they using an old tablet with huge bezels from 2014 is because the CMA platform started production in 2014. The poorly planned interior was also unchanged from the 2016 Volvo concept car.

    I'm 35 and really no surprise old people love this as their first EV. Thats usually who I see driving them too. The bland color choices are indicative of the target market. No fresh colors or styling. Just a plain looking hatchback sedan that sits too high.

      Your point? Even the model 3 has been out since 2017, and the Highland? Not exactly a big change on the outside. Most brands cycle their models every 8 to 9 years. The Polestar 2 has been out since 2021. If you want latest, you might consider a SEA based model 4. A bit expensive? Then you’re going to have to consider used. Oh, driving your Dad or Grandad’s car! How can you live with yourself? Well, it just so happens that the Polestar 2 is pretty decent to drive and if your friends think it’s gross, perhaps they should walk!

    Too bad it looks so plain. That black plastic cladding looks so cheap. I thought they would upgrade that cheap looking interior and that hideous tablet with huge bezels from 2015. No wonder why used 2022's are selling for under $30k now, This old dated CMA platform is aging so poorly.

    • @wonderboy75
      @wonderboy75 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the cladding looks good. Even the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo has that type of cladding. Better than having the paint chip and peel off your rocker panel like the Model 3.

      @wonderboy75 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If I could get a 2022 for under 30k in Norway it would be a steal. The prices of used PS2's seems to hold up better than Model 3s.

    • @davidcottrell570
      @davidcottrell570 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Try driving one. The ‘old’ CMA platform is built like a tank and should hold up well. When it comes to spending your money, that matters. It’s all very well to critique a 3 year old design against new models coming off the assembly line like the Polestar 3 or Highland, but every 2024/25 model will look dated after 3 years of ownership, and with resale values, we’re all likely to be keeping cars longer.
