Just to think that engines and automobiles have really come this far....so far to the point where vehicles can be so powerful that they can almost lift off into the air from sheer torque, horsepower and speed. Engines are a work of art and have come such a long way. 1100 horsepower even 50 years ago was unthinkable in a car, and 50 years is absolutely nothing. That is just unbelievable.
In 500 years we've gone from swords and wooden boats to spaceships and unmanned planes dropping intelligent missiles on enemies. 50 years is a lot for mankind, especially with the tools we got now.

One day a 10 second car will have burnout box time included. Second gear burnout is cool. Fighting for grip on the track. I wouldn't want this tune for the street and I love it spicy.
When you push an engine to redline (or close to), lifting off the throttle can cause a large amount of pressure buildup in the block. Some older engines can blow if you rev it out and let off. It's just better for the engine to upshift when letting off a hard pull and will help the engine live longer. I'm no engine tech I just did street racing for ~3 years with a tuned Z.
Switchable AWD? Or rwd convert? Just wondering cause did a nice burnout at the start but then you had AWD like traction at launch and you did seem to press some buttons before launching.
I think the brake bias is modified so that only the front tyres get blocked when you step on the pedal, so he can do a burnout easily. And if I remember correctly there is a differential between the front and rear wheels so it wont break anything.
@@domonkosludvig3314 After his burnout when he was lining up, he flipped some switches. Maybe that was it? I dunno. People dyno AWD cars on RWD dynos so
I have a question. I have only recently began to learn more about cars in the past few months during quarantine. Right now, I have no job and not making any money, unfortunately. I don't even have the money to tune and turbo my 2016 Genesis Coupe. I wasted ten years going to school for a pointless bachelor's degree. Anyway, on to my question. I started learning paddle shifters a few months ago after I discovered my car has it. I only use that now. I never learn to drive manual with clutch growing up. Do sequential gearboxes made it easier for automatic drivers to use? For example, is it simply pull the stick back and push it forward, or is there clutch with the foot involved? I ask this because if I somehow magically became rich someday, I wouldn't mind finding a 1990s JDM or 1960s muscle car and having a good shop install the sequential transmission. Simply pushing it and pulling the stick is easy. What I never learned was the clutch and everything else. I was too busy wasting my life in school and never getting anywhere in life. It would also be cheaper to get an older car and have it tuned, unless I am wrong.
no, a sequential gearbox is simply like you stated "pull the stick back and push it forward" to switch gears. Very expensive but it shifts a lot quicker than a manual.
It’s more akin to manual than auto. For around town driving and downshifting you still use the clutch. Clutchless shifting is reserved for flat out driving.
I've always wondered how drag cars do burnouts like that. They're obviously looking for maximum grip so how do they light up the tyres so easily?! Even if it is rwd surely the brakes can't hold it completely still?!
@@alexk-1535 that's alright, not annoying at all. I didn't know that - I'm surprised pads and discs can hold back 1100hp. I suppose that is the only way.
