    Yes, the Chargers played the Colts twice in 3 weeks. In the 28-team days, the 5th-place teams in each conference would play each other twice the next year.

    & 28 years later on this day..... The Bills stunned the Pats 24-21 with the final minute on the drive for Cam "Fake/Scam" Newton fumbles the ball & Bills D recovers it!

    Also the Cowboys beating the Eagles for the first time at home since 1987. Looking at the Packers when they had no running game at 4:54. First 100 yard runner in 3 years. That would change with Edgar Bennett and later Dorsey Levens.

      Up and down season for the Eagles. Star lineman Jerome Brown was killed in a car wreck during the off season. I believe he was the piece that wouldve gotten them over the top. Cunningham returned from a broken leg in 91. He was really solid, but not his old self. Reggie White's last year in Philly. Won a huge wild card game on the road against a really good Saints team, but alas got blown out by Dallas in the divisional. I was 7 years old.... my first year really following the NFL lol

    Its crazy teams not in the same division would still play each other twice a season some times like these two.

    • @SuperUkcats
      @SuperUkcats 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's called the "5th place schedule" formula when they were a 28-team league that first started in 1978 aka the year they expanded the regular season to 16 games.

    • @SuperUkcats
      @SuperUkcats 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What was so horrible about the 28-31 team era was the whole "strength of schedule" garbage (5th place teams fighting each other twice in interdivisional play during the 28 era for example) rather than just rotate of who's next on the list like they did before 1978, let alone the return of it in 2002. There is a good reason why Buffalo had to wait till 2009 for their first home game against Tampa! Not to mention 2009 featured Jacksonville's first (and only) trip to the city of San Francisco, while hosting for the first (and only) time, the city of St. Louis.

    • @SuperUkcats
      @SuperUkcats 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And how about the time the Packers had to play in Dallas/Irving for FOUR straight years!
      1978-79 to 2001-02 scheduling was just horrible.

    • @jaylucien669
      @jaylucien669 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SuperUkcats Cowboys played the Packers in Milwaukee in '78. I don't think they played again until the '82 playoffs. Dallas did get a home field edge on GB from '93-'95 winning 6 straight including the playoffs.

    That Dolphins/Jets game: the Jets met the Dolphins at the right time, and Ken O'Brien always lit that team up, but really, that Jets team had good personnel and should've played more like this throughout the season. Then again, they played their best games in 1992 against divisional opponents, and were lackluster outside of it.
