      @tltravel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dominickkleinmeyer7009 many people fly into Edmonton before heading out to the mountains, or come into the city for work or other events. Edmonton may not be the top tourist destination in Canada, but that's not to say that there's nothing to do here if you're in town for a day or two 👍

    that weather disclaimer near the beginning... 🤣 I had no idea where the biggest mall (in North America) was, but I never would have guessed Edmonton! The outdoor areas there look beautiful.

    Love edmonton! Underdog in canada still. Our river valley is incredible, downtown and Strathcona are finally building up. Transit is expanding quickly. Sadly, many years of thinking like a small town have hurt us, but the last few councils have really moved us to look more like a city of 1.5mil.
    Great days ahead! And super affordable vs all other major Canadian cities.

      I agree! Definitely more here than meets the eye and it's been so great to watch the city grow :)

    Have you had a chance to produce a video about the accommodation options in Edmonton yet? I've already read up on the 3 you suggested here, and would love to hear about some more!

      Hi Chantelle! I don't have a dedicated video about Edmonton accommodations just yet, but if you're looking for something specific feel free to let me know and maybe I can make a different recommendation for you :)

    Well, Edmonton is a cold city for sure. However, it is not always cold like minus 40 degrees all the time as you mentioned.

    • @tltravel
      @tltravel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly! As I mentioned, it can be anywhere from + 30 to - 40 so for anyone planning a trip in the winter it's always wise to check the weather ❤️

    What can you say about Canora neighborhood? We’re planning to go to Edmonton 😊

    • @tltravel
      @tltravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Canora is nice and close to a lot of great spots. If you're a foodie and in the area closer to Stony Plain, check out El Corazon YEG in Glenora (not too far) and on the 107 Ave side Bliss Baked Goods have some of the best donuts in town (in my opinion haha). You'll be fairly central though so you can get anywhere by transit even if you don't have a car 👍

    i feel bad to comment. but edmonton is pass over city.not much to do, you can make a list of things to and you will get it completed where as other cities like Toronto,van or mon, you will never complete because so much more to offer.Calgary however is a more beautiful real looking city i will say its way better than edmonton in terms of things to do.edmonton needs to invest more into their downtown core which they started to late as they neglected the city for to long.the rogers arena did bring some life, however again they always cheap out on the deigns of the city planning for example their new library that looks like a carcass of a world war 1 sunken vessel . i remember i first moved their i was shock how rundown and dirty and scary their core looked i lived their for about 8 years. i moved back home to Toronto don't miss any of it

    • @tltravel
      @tltravel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No need to feel bad commenting. As a travel consultant, I get a lot of questions about what can be enjoyed in Edmonton on stop-overs before Jasper, Elk Island etc. or on work trips fairly often, so I wanted to share some info. Would I recommend Edmonton as a top Alberta destination? Probably not (and I live here haha) But for those visiting for work or as a stop-over on there way to the mountains, it's nice to have some info. out there so that their time in the city isn't wasted. I will say I do love the river valley and food scene though. I can never get sick of that 💖💖

    Edmonton and the downtown area and connecting to Chinatown the area and buildings are old rundown and decaying, plus a lot of former houses are burnt to the ground, not to mention Edmonton has one of the highest homelessness.

    • @tltravel
      @tltravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is certainly a lot of things that aren't ideal about the city of Edmonton, however this video is specifically to highlight the positives for those who are visiting. Many people stop through for business or on their way to the mountains etc. and often ask for recommendations, but yes - as with many places, we do have elements that need improvement. Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment ❤️

      With a lot of people traveling through Edmonton on their way to Jasper and other areas in the North, I've had a lot of questions about what to do here during those short stays (or business stays). Is it a highly recommended vacation destination? No 🤣🤣 But that doesn't mean it has to be a wasted weekend either.

      Would I recommend it as the #1 holiday destination? No🤣🤣 Buuuuut a lot of people do use Edmonton as a stop-over before and after trips to Jasper and other surrounding parks and attractions, so as a travel consultant I get a shocking number of requests for Edmonton and wanted to share my favorite parts for that reason 💜

    Don't MOVE to Edmonton!! It's literally the worst city in Canada. I was there for a year and it was the biggest mistake of my life moving there. I left last month and i'm so relieved! Homeless people everywhere, druggies everywhere, downtown Edmonton is sooo ugly...nobody even goes there. Horrid infrastructure. The city is so dirty. Plus winter lasts until the end of may!! The economy is also really bad and unstable.... It's just a low quality of life all-around.

      Sounds like the city left quite the negative impression on you. Sorry to hear that. I hope you're much happier where you're living now. Cheers & Best wishes 💖
