  • Partnering with EdmontonsBestHotels.com, we witnessed Alberta's diversity at one of the world's largest celebrations of multiculturalism, got extra special seats to the first game ever of the Edmonton Elks, and ate at one of Edmonton's newest and greatest restaurants.
    This is part 1 of a 3 part series on things to do in Edmonton so make sure you watch the others as they come out.
    As mentioned, we partnered with EDMH for this series so if you're looking for the best hotels in Edmonton, as well as some perks, check out EdmontonsBestHotels.com.

    We’re Matt & Karla, a Canadian couple with two totally different backgrounds.
    Matt is the “quintessentially Canadian”, born under the northern lights in Northern Alberta with family all over the country, whereas Karla is originally from Mexico City, bringing a totally fresh perspective to a country she has fallen in love with.
    Over the past 10 years, we have travelled to 42 countries spanning six continents, which has given us the expertise to plan amazing trips and find memorable experiences.
    In 2017, we decided to explore our own massive backyard with Road to 150, a 150-day #roadtrip across #Canada, witnessing the beauty and diversity of this country and sharing our experiences through video, pictures, social media and articles. Since then, we’ve helped thousands of Canadians and travellers worldwide make the most of every Canadian experience.

    How safe is it to travel to Calgary. I live in Ontario (still in partial lockdown). I see cases are skyrocketing in Alberta and in your videos no one is wearing protective facemasks.

    • @MustDoCanada
      @MustDoCanada  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's so hard to say. We hear that too, but at the same time, we've been travelling Alberta the entire time during the last 1.5 years (wearing a mask, etc) but still don't know anyone in our circle who has had it. We know of people in our circle around the world who have had it, but oddly enough, not here. I think if you're vaccinated, it's fine, but some people still wear masks so it's totally up to you.

    Edmonton Elks?????????????? What a horrible transition. I have always known this beloved Football Team as the Edmonton Eskimos. Was this knucklehead idea politically motivated?

    • @MustDoCanada
      @MustDoCanada  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Who cares. It's a derogitory term that makes no sense anyway. Makes much more sense as the Elks, considering all the Elks around Edmonton. Could have been the Edmonton Rigpigs or something but that probably woulda offended someone too?

      It means man who eats blubber. And to me, it only matters what the Inuit think. And when I travelled with them in Nunavut, they’re the ones who said it was derogatory. Best to ask them no? And in the end, it’s a football team. Who cares.

      @@MustDoCanada You gave a different perspective. As a Canadian of the 50's and 60's, we found the term "Canuck" to be offensive, yet, we now have a Hockey team with that name. Should we change it? Well, regardless, I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.
