  • Is Jamaica Safe?
    In this video, while relaxing my Dead-End Beach, I discuss the recent updated Travel advisory for Jamaica, which was "Reconsider Travel".
    Jamaica has an unfair perception internationally and a time is singled out when its problems also exist elsewhere. Be safe out there guys!

      How is Jamaica moving away from the US? They just accepted $7M USD for safety and security. There's nothing political about a travel warning. If you actually read the warning, it's nothing alarming. It's simply to warn citizens of potential danger. The fact remains there's no decent emergency services and the hospitals are dismal. Jamaica has a strong relationship with the US and it's in Jamaican interest to keep it that way.

China is building so many roads and buildings here changing the face of Jamaica at a rapid rate.....the USA don't like that. Plus we are going to leave the Commonwealth of countries and be The Replic of Jamaica 🇯🇲. Jamaica is many times safer than the US. Why the US don't guh talk about Chicago and parts of Florida with their high crime rates, mass shootings etc.

    I was born and grew up in Jamaica working there for decades and, I want to know which country in the world is crimes free. I would like someone to tell me which country, but the United States is always. Trying to sabotage Jamaica because they are trying to forced certain life styles,on the country and the government rejected to it. Anybody who ever lived in the United States will tell you, that the country social services is very poor. If you don't have any form of instructions, nobody wants to attended to you. When you called the police officers especially in the night times, sometimes it took you up 2 to 3 hours or . No police officers does not turn up at all, because they have less police officers working at night times. So all what they are saying about Jamaica as a very small country comparing to the United States, the services is very poor at times.There is nowhere in the United States is safe, schools, churches, clubs, malls, restaurants, stores you named it. You can leave your house in the United States to go somewhere and, chances are. You don't must return home, because the amount of guns men on the streets.Road rage is the order of the day,if someone bad drives you and. Don't hit you, just keep go , although some of them will follow and shoot you. If you don't have a gun to defend yourself,it is best to continue and say anything. Because you may get killed for simple things,it is like you are living into a war zone,ok

    During the 70s, Jamaica's homicide rate was much lower. In the 70s, most homicides were linked to political gang warfare. The overall trend is an increase in homicides over the years with temporary dips when States of Emergencies and Zones of Special Operations are declared. We need to get the chips off of our shoulders worrying about US travel warnings claiming the US is more dangerous than Jamaica when, statistically, even with the US mass shootings, the US is still safer than Jamaica. What should really concern us is that Jamaica's crime, while mostly gang, hits, scamming, extortion and domestic related, the crime in Jamaica affects the average Jzmaican the most. That is what should concern us. 😮

  • @RaymondDGrant
    @RaymondDGrant 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Jamaica does not "have crime like any other country". Statistically, Jamaica is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for the average poor Jamaican. Videos like your, although well intentioned, they downplay the dangers of crime that the average Jamaican has to face However, tourists who use resorts and who stick to the tourist areas are safe. We need to make Jamaica safe for all - not just tourists

      It is people like you who come on social media and spread falsehoods about Jamaica. Where in Jamaica are there MASS MURDERS in a parade, on 4th of July, in kindergarten, in junior school, in high school, in college, in health centers, in churches, supermarkets, movie theaters, subways, mosque, because you are Black, or Muslim, or Jewish? There is crime EVERYWHERE in this world. I am not condoning criminality, but majority of the crimes in Jamaica are gang related, scammers against scammers, and family disputes.

In my two travels to Paris France we were robbed on one occasion and in another a woman was pushed/fell in front of a train at a subway station. I see tourists walking all over jamaica even in downtown Kingston 80 to 90% of crime in jamaica is gang related jamaica is not more dangerous than say Chicago or Cleveland Ohio jamaica never experienced mass shooting in schools like many countries in the world and even in church in America people praying and being slaughtered in Florida over 50 party goers was slaughtered in a mass shooting and no travel advisory was issued look I live in jamaica and never feel safer jamaicans listen to these media outlets and some leaving the country while the white people them are moving in I have never seen so many white people living in jamaica and want to move here maybe we should take a really deeper look at what's really going on

    Is America safe? they help to destabilize Jamaica by allowing the criminal Jamaicans living there to ship guns to their gang members in Jamaica. The Americans could help by clamping down on the guns coming into the island. Jamaica helped with their war on drugs, but they turn a blind eye to the gun trade. Haiti is in the same position, the island is in crisis because of all the guns coming to their shores from America.

    I've not been to Jamaica yet, but I have been to St. Lucia and Dominica. I have to say that the locals really made me feel like family. The people are lovely. Bring your manners and treat the country like you're in someone else's house, because you are! It's served me well everywhere I travel.
