Not at all. Vox really understated how left wing she is. Harris was the second-most liberal member of the Senate when she served from 2017 to 2021 (source: DW-NOMINATE). Everything from trillion dollar climate change bills to price caps/rent control. Being a prosecutor does not negate all of that.

she's just an establishment politician; hated by the normal working man but inexplicably loved and supported by the media and corporations.
Basically, she'll just tow the neo-Liberal party line just like the others. You already know her beliefs and policies even without knowing anything about her because they're not her beliefs and policies, they're the beliefs and policies of the establishment and the corporations, media, military and other organisations that work together to form the establishment.
When are people going to realise that it doesn't matter which party or politician is in charge, what actually matters is the establishment AKA "the system". she's identical to every other establishment-chosen Western politician, so no doubt she'll do the bidding of the "Wurld Ekonomic Four-um" (I had to misspell it to avoid censorship) just like every other Western politican.
We need politicians who are of the people, not politicians who are of the establishment.

She keeps her finger in the wind to determine her politics, meaning she is a political operative and cannot be trusted to hold firm when put to the test. A leader is one who LEADS. A president should be a leader and a visionary and principled. A chameleon would be none of these things. Compare her ability to articulate policy positions in comparison to Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders during media interviews. Sanders and Warren are excellent. Harris is yet again like a 10 out of 100 because she DOES NOT know how to speak properly to convey or persuade. But that's because of deliberate underfunding and neglect by successive governments. Though I think it's been particularly pernicious over 14 years of Tory rule in the UK. Conservatives everywhere seek to starve and break any and all social programs. The benefits of a healthy, well educated society is not their priority. They are motivated strictly by self interest and prefer a system that subjugates most people for the benefit of the few, as long as they are part of the few. And the most important thing from their perspective is to consolidate their positions so as to ensure that remains the case.

I agree with you. In Dutch we have a concept we've termed the "rechtstaat" which is considered to be a sort of fundamental state of being for our society possibly best compared with the phrase "a nation of laws" if it must be translated into English. Essentially it means the state is itself bound by law and legal rights and justice are not (supposed to be) subject to political whims and arbitrary despotism.
It's why our courts and judges are not politically appointed and even the public prosecutors are nominally independent from politics and government.
I could sort of understand the appeal of elected public prosecutors in the sense that the people might be deciding what they feel is important to pursue or if they want to show trust in the competence of the prosecutor.
But elected judges seems absurd, especially when they campaign on ideology and values. Generally the law should be their only measure. That being said, I live in one of the many countries that has a codified legal code, and the USA has a hybrid system heavily leaning towards common law which places defining what justice is almost completely with the judge.

I’ve always felt these things about Kamala but never knew how to really put it into proper words. But yes she has a deep conviction but yet has nothing to be convicting for. That’s why it surprised me with how many people are demanding to know what her policies are. She’s just gonna be a continuation of Biden with some minor changes. She’s not very inventive but give her a cause she can rationally get behind and she brings that prosecutor energy. That’s why the campaign has had such momentum right now. In her mind this is primarily “beat Donald Trump” and it’s proving successful for the time being.

I hope our generation becomes the generation that finally does away with the narrative that changing your mind is “flip flopping”, and that flip flopping is bad thing. Flip flopping based on where the body evidence currently sits is a good thing. I wish every politician flip flopped more often. If they did, government policy wouldn’t be so far behind public opinion on basically every issue. Policy lags behind shifting public opinion and leads to issues where there is a large consensus being completely irrelevant to government policy on those issues for like two decades before policy actually changes to meet the consensus of experts and the consensus of the public.

Love how she was appointed the nominee without a single vote at first.

Why would you elect her to fix the current problems when she has been in office for the past 3 years and created these problems? Even if you argue that her policies didnt cause them, why has she not fixed them?

Nobody here rooted for her or knew anything about her before this most recent 15 minutes of fame she’s enjoying.

I'm from the camp that the unbearably long campaign season sifts out the innovators and right now we have one. Crime and poverty are a symptom of a country and society that has de-valued human life and the apathy towards it only perpetuates it. We owe to Americans before us and after us a stake in the success of this country. This society can be conducted with Dignity.
Also, If you're promoted to a position you typically dont do exactly what your predecessor did. Biden and Harris are very different people.
