One of my friend who was a Nurse at UWI told me sometimes the hospital would have 1 Doctor on staff. She also said this is why the death rate at hospitals in Jamaica is so high. All of her colleagues left Jamaican hospitals and got contracts in American hospital. Americans should 100% avoid Jamaica because if they do get sick while on vacation, I feel sorry for them. Don't know about Jamaica, haven't visited that one yet or learned of it, but that country the Bahamas is a good example that immigration must be controlled. A study was once done showing that seventy five percent of the crimes committed in the Bahamas was not done by Bahamians. And in the other twenty five percent, the crimes were partly done by people born to people who came there from other Caribbean nations. The country has suffered for decades under the weight of other nations coming there and bringing their own culture. Watch out for people who say they are Bahamians, because many people there and abroad say that they are Bahamians and are not. Many are born to people who came there many years ago. It's a very sad situation there, because the world hears the name of this country, but do not know the truth. The question there is, who are committing these crimes.

Many are born to people who came there many years ago" [end quote]. So, my question to you is this: What do you call the children born in the Bahamas of "people who came there many years ago?" In fact, what do you call the children born in America of the European Whites who came to America long ago? By your reasoning, no White person nor persons of other races and ethnicities born in America - except the Native Indians - would be American, since their family members all came to America years ago.

      @evaeves8569 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@dakg8034 Well, you ignored the rest and picked out what suits you. But if you read my comment clearly you will see it is about the effect of some different cultures, and about crime. Not about anything else. The 'many are born to people who came,' is just stating factually about a percentage of people and still talking about culture and crime. Yes, they are born there and are from the country, but are not being taught the country. Factually, now is not the same as the past. Europeans and other races in the past accepted the country they came, not bring their own. And I met a few people abroad not born there in the Bahamas, but made people think they are. There was once even a Caribbean guy who was being arrested in the US that said he was from the Bahamas, and they found out was not. This is serious stuff.

    • @dakg8034
      @dakg8034 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@evaeves8569 Not so at all. I did not pick out what suits me. I merely pointed out the absurdity of the argument you made. Your entire comment can be summed up in two main points:
      (a) Immigration of foreigners needs to be controlled by the host country because immigrants bring their culture - a culture that involves crimes.
      (b) crime in the Bahamas is committed by people claiming to be Bahamians but who are not truly Bahamians.
      To be clear, I do not disagree that migrants bring their culture - even criminal behaviors to host countries. That is an undeniable truth worldwide in every country. The Bahamas is no exception.
      However, you then cited a study, and further said, [quote] "Watch out for people who say they are Bahamians, because many people there and abroad say that they are Bahamians and are not. Many are born to people who came there many years ago [end quote].
      That is where you lost me in your reasoning, because the comment implies that crime is the Bahamas is mainly the doing of people who came from elsewhere or were born of migrants who came to the Bahamas. That is completely false and is just as equally discriminatory in nature. Being born in the Bahamas of parents who came there from abroad many years ago, DOES NOT make those persons any less Bahamian. So, to heap them into the same category as those who came from outside, is blatant bias against them. That is the point my comment was meant to convey.

Did you see the video where gang members in Montego Bay on hipstrip had a shoot out in broad day light. Gang war is no longer in the ghetto. Jamaica have alot of scammers and are involve in cocaine dealing. This allows them to afford to be in tourist areas, when they meet up, the war happens. I cannot agree where the US Embassy stated that, "Local police often do not respond effectively to serious criminal incidents." That is a stretch and not reflective of the efforts, strides and comparative successes made in the fight against crime. The fact that murders and violent crimes are down double digits (percentage) compared to the corresponding period last year (2023), cannot honestly be said to be more alarming, and that leads me to wonder why the risk level is increased.

    My advice to anyone traveling to the Bahamas especially Nassau is simple, Stay in the tourist areas, don't go wandering over the islands, renting a scooter and wondering over the island is a bad idea, first off the traffic is horrendous. Take an island tour instead, the crime and violence is basically among the natives there, Th Bahamas government does not tolerate crimes against tourist, that is their bread and butter. however if you go wondering into the interior you are looking for trouble, you will become an easy mark! stay in the bay street area, paradise island area, cable beach area, major hotel areas, if you get on a jitney (public transportation), stay on the bus, do not get off until it brings you back to Bay street, if you get lost find a buss stop, all jitneys will eventually end on bay street! or flag down a cop! visit, enjoy, have fun be safe!
