      Sorry, I missed this comment.
      I’ve never had any issues so far, been bagged on airdemand for over 1.5 years now, I’ve actually heard more bags leaking issue for UAS bags, but now that I have both bags, they’re both good in their own way, UAS is definitely conform and has even more range in terms of how high it can go, and their after sales service would be better than air demand. Airdemand rides fine, a bit sportier, cheaper in price but harder to get a hold of after sales

    1st - GREAT VIDEO! I always wondered and I'm still contemplating doing this to my P3D. You gave me more confidence to get this done one day. You might have a similar twin one day in OC. White on white P3D with Zero-G referral wheels. I'm also getting a body kit from Unplugged Performance (front bumper, unfinished CF side skirts, unfinished CF rear bumper).
    If looking from the front of the car, I noticed that in some of the videos your manifold and compressors are below the tank (in front) and in others they are above it (behind it). Was there a mistake made earlier and you ended up changing it to manifold at the highest point (compressors behind the tank and manifold behind/above)?

    • @TeslaDIY
      @TeslaDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kenneth Jones haha thanks! Yeah if I knew exactly what needs to be done like I’ve shown in my own video, I think I could have had it done much quicker! What you saw in some clips where the manifold sits flat on the platform was how I had it the first 2 weeks. After I got everything dialed in, I re did the platform with MDF board and decided to change the layout because all the hoses through the middle of the tub wasn’t working well. There’s no room for wires and hoses to clearly route through behind it.

      I wish someone would pick up where AccuAir left off and make something like the ENDO-CT 5 gallon air tank again. I have seen this on CJ's Casper ride ( www.casperm3.com ) and it looks so clean and muffles the sound quite a bit for the compressors. It's sad that AccuAir went out of business.

    How is the ride compared to your spring setup? Love your channel man

    • @TeslaDIY
      @TeslaDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      nevergone the ride is noticeably better than when I was on lowering springs. I just did a 1000+ miles road trip from sf Bay Area to San Diego and the ride was very comfort and smooth. For example, I used to get a scary loft on the freeway thru bumps going from a high spot to a low spot, or a nasty bump bottoming out on bumps going from low to high, no issue with the bagged setup, and it’s still 16 ways dampening adjustable AND ride comfort can also be “tuned” by increasing or decreasing bags pressure (but will have to adjust strut housing to extend or shorten strut length to compensate)
      And thanks for watching my videos, I appreciate the support and glad you enjoy the contents!

    Great video, was wondering what was the measurement setting on your struts to set proper ride height? What was the distance you used between the adjustment collars for front and rears? I order my kit and will be installing so looking to get a baseline as I like your settings.

    • @TeslaDIY
      @TeslaDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello and Thank you! I don't have the measurement, but i pretty much maxed out the length and left about 1" of threads in the sleeve for safety measure. I remember all 4 struts were not equal in length however, lets say i had all four struts with 1" left in the housing. the car would sit uneven on each corner when they're all at the same pressure. so then you would take notes of which corner is higher/lower and adjust the strut length accordingly...tedious process..height sensor is another fun calibration

      Thanks buddy,
      On my model 3, I am running the air demand bags with airlift 3H, order from airdemand/airforce directly, via Instagram, it seems sketchy but that’s how everyone order from them, airlift I order from Zevcentric, Rishie is who to talk to.
      For comfort, you probably want to go with UAS bags, which I have on my Model Y, it raises up higher and rides more comfortably.
      My air demand bags are sporty, I actually like it that way, I don’t need it to be comfy.
      I would say either way it’s better than factory, but everyone has difference need and opinions.
      UAS can go 1-2” higher than stock, airdemand seems to bring my front a bit higher than stock, but rear is about as high if not slightly lower than stock

    • @TeslaDIY
      @TeslaDIY  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i think most are using 1/4, 3/8 drops really fast and aggressive, altho i think UAS wants you to run 3/8, but i do have 1/4 on my Model Y with UAS and it works just fine, i do have flow restrictors just to balance out the front and back since the front seems to want to drop first which tilts the car in a way the front spoiler gets a bit too low and scrape the ground

    Does this improves the ride quality, ex: when going over bumps?

    • @TeslaDIY
      @TeslaDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely rides better than stock and some performance coilovers, since "bagged" suspension also has adjustable dampening like coilovers, but instead of the springs (which has a fixed spring rate) we run on air bags, which can be adjusted in pressure (affects ride height and comfort level, less pressure, softer, more pressure, stiffer), you can also adjust the strut bottom sleeve to compensate the ride height to get the best ride air pressure you want in your bags

      Hello, I didn't have a very good set of coilovers, it was a custom setup and was bottoming out often. However, compare to springs, springs were bouncy and "lofty" and scary at high speed bumps. Coilovers would be firm and bumpy, good for performance altho you can probably get a set and dial it in to have a comfort ride as well.
      Air is just overall comfort and practical, you'll never have to worry about riding low (for looks), yet it rides very nicely and comfort, some even track with bags (look up OMG Tesla on IG)

      Kyle assuming you’re referring to the air bag struts since there isn’t aftermarket struts except for the new autocross setup from unplugged performance.
      Universal Air (UAS) is known to be good, local in SoCal, better design and easier to reach for service. $2400+ pricier than other options.
      AirDemand, what I have, ~$1800 a lot more people use them these days since they are cheaper and a lot of users are switching from the next brand that I’m going to mention. Service is slow for some, so far I’m pleased with their service and response time.
      Airtekk, stay away, ~$1600 bad design since the rear bags are intergraded, so avoid this brand.
      Airlift performance MAYBE coming out with their own struts, have to wait for them to announce if anything.

      Justin McMullen I don’t recall what stock ride was like altho I’ve been told by other airdemand users and universal air users that their ride quality is better than stock. But I can compare to my unplugged performance low spring setup and it’s definitely a better ride, especially at higher speed, I used to feel the loft or bounce when I go from a low to high spot. Recently did a 5 hour drive with this setup and it was very easy and there are 16 (I think it’s 16) ways dampening to adjust, as well as the bags pressure can dictate the ride quality (and height, so you would have to adjust your strut length to compensate) as well

      @@phinguyening7610 thanks I appreciate that, however there are a lot of things I make that’s worth selling, some I do sell like the cup holder shifters (see my other video ) but even that I had just decided to stop selling just because it takes too much time out of my day when order comes in.. something’s are better to stay as a hobby or just for fun 🙏🏻

    how much for parts and labor? willing to travel to you

    • @TeslaDIY

      Hello, parts are about $3700 including miscellaneous stuff like MDF board and extra PTC fittings. I don't want to do install for other cars since I am not a professional, and I don't want to be responsible in case anything goes wrong.

      The wrap was just from amazon, they were just plain vinyl and I CADed up the design and plot it out with my vinyl plotter

    how's the handling of the car? When you turning and is the ride bouncy or stiff?

    • @TeslaDIY
      @TeslaDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It all depends on how you setup your strut length (this affects bags pressure, longer strut length, less PSI you need to run to reach ideal set ride height), Dampening setting for your rebound. Bags are basically a coilover except you loose the coil and replace it with the bags, you still get your height adjustment on the strut housing, dampening, but a coil springs are set at its spring rate, but the bag pressure can be adjusted, higher pressure will ride stiffer/bouncier, lower pressure will still be firm but rides smoothly

      @@TeslaDIY hey there again :D what's your ride hide preset? I just got my rear airlift bags that i replaced. I forgot what was my previous ride height so now I have reset it up. And the old bags were different company.

      @@badboytilltheend13 hello, are you talking about ride pressure? and which bags do you have now? on my Air Demand bags, i am at around 100psi, be all depends on your overall length of the rear struts and also how low do you want to ride
