Thanks! I still find myself smirking whenever I watch the scenes where Craig Charles scoffs down anything that's food in his sights, especially this one, the one where he's eating cake in bed, and also on Starbug during that chase scene... except it's not really him... it's Rimmer in Lister's body!!! ;)
+Mister Alcohol Your welcome, even though rimmer said he was going to lose some weight on Lister's body but instead he was fatting him up even further. Talk about not living up to the end of the bargain. Still all that food looks tasty.
+Mister Alcohol Yeah, the lightly poached mimmion bladder fish, the 4 dozen oysters, the ducks feet in abalone sauce, a roast suckling pig stuffed with chestnuts and truffles, Mashed potato with a pint of cream and a full pound of butter. Oh man, now i'm hungry.
I can't help but notice that the only thing Craig actually eats is the sushi, which makes me think that all the other food are inedible props. Especially that roast suckling pig that looks like it's made of melted plastic.
A friend just revealed that she has managed to burn out her taste buds, even the hottest peppers no longer affect her, I'm trying to find a clip that includes Rimmer revealing that Lister's taste buds are likewise shot, :)
It's probably just a fictional species, and that they used the fish you were referring to as near-substitutes. After all, the plant Serenna Veriformans from "Jurassic Park" isn't real either, as there has never been reported a prehistoric fern genus named "Serenna" or a "veriformans" species - Michael Crichton just made that one up to try and gain some authenticity, so it's likely that Grant Naylor made the Mimian Bladder Fish up for similar reasons: to throw something unique and strange into the mix, for a mixture of both old and new. ;)
That's alright. The fish in "Body Swap" and the fish in Can't Smeg, Won't Smeg" were probably just two individuals of the same species, similarly to the Predators from the Predator movies, none of whom look exactly the same either. And, while we're still on this particular topic, another example from Red Dwarf itself is The Polymorph. ;)
Just in case you were not aware. The bad dubbing was intentional, you see in the episode two people swap bodies, and the only indication of this is that they both have the other person's voice coming out of their mouths.
This is me as soon as the restaurants open again after London lockdown
how did it go?
@@KaniTokenwe need to know!.
Craig's voice suits Chris.
It really does!
I always thought that.
Seeing this makes me wonder if the crew and cast made any decisions on which food they want Lister (Rimmer) to be eating.
my favorite episode :D

The roast suckling pig prop they used looks kinda nasty, to be honest.

they are 100% props

Claaaaasic
The mimian bladder fish in this episode looks like a carp or something, but the one in Can't smeg won't smeg looks more like a monkfish.

***** I guessed it was a fictional species. I was just pointing out it's inconsistent design.

Maybe there's some bizarre gender dimorphism going on.

@@GAZArts I was joking.
Actually I find it amusing.
Bender from Futurama needs to learn cooking lessons from kryten

Me every time I aim to lose weight.
Not one curry dish? I thought Lister ever ate curry.
Rimmer is in his body. They switched minds.
0:17 Bad dubbing.
