"Critics" complaining about how slow act 1 is or why they only showed the xenomorphs on the last 3rd of the movie , which is confusing since Alien & Aliens pretty much move at same pace...
Yeah the alien doesn't show up until half way through the second act in both movies and even then it's not there long because the point is the scary thing is not knowing
Well it's good there is so much more to complain about that makes it concretely awful. The characters are poorly written except for four of them. They do illogical stupid things such as not wear suits on an alien planet, you wouldn't take your suits off for any reason in a realistic setting because foreign viruses are a more than possible thing to exist on an alien planet. It also seems to be making excuses to continue the conflict. It makes zero sense why Fassbender's character is evil and is handled poorly. It took literally seconds for the facehugger to implant the 2nd xenomorph, making the canon of the entire series completely pointless as it should in actuality take hours along with the fact that sensors would pick up the foreign body immediately, if it can do it when it is out than it certainly can do it while it is in. And the fact that there are so many inconsistencies such as how David can trim his hair perfectly to look like Walters, change into his clothes, perfectly cut his hand off the same way, and not get questioned with diagnostics that would clearly reveal how outdated he is along with the fact that he is carrying foreign bodies inside of him that would be detected and the fact that he for some reason helped save the remaining crew for some unknown reason; also how is it that Walter didn't kill him, just because David picked up a knife doesn't mean he would automatically win, Walter said that they were updated to be more durable and yet David somehow kills him off screen, especially when Walter was literally showed a second before it cut to black about to bash his skull in with a rock. The whole character of David is so abysmal. The fact that the captain didn't kill him after he proved more than capable of committing not only homicide, but genocide, is beyond human common sense. Furthermore why didn't he radio in to let people know what happened, in fact why didn't they go in pairs, splitting up is a terrible horror trope that somehow went over most casual viewer's heads. And there isn't an actual reason as to why multiple androids were not on the ship nor why they would send most of the crew down to the planet they weren't even supposed to go to. The Xenomorph being 100% CGI was a mistake, especially when most of it's scenes could easily be done with a suit, which is proven to always be preferable.
Haroun Siladjan yeah but Alien and Aliens are consistently entertaining movies with fun and memorable characters. Alien Covenant is a boring and forgettable rancid piece of shit.
Nanatsu no Taizai You know being snarky like this doesn't work when I wrote a n argument that clearly analyzes the film. It just makes you look like a moron who failed at being a smart ass.

I pretty much agree with everything you said. The Xenomorph, even though was cool to see how the first one was created, it felt like it was there only to satisfy the Alien fan who complained about that when Prometheus came out.
No, Actually, the next movie DOESN'T run inbetween Prometheus and Alien Covenant, it's going to be a sequel to Alien: Covenant, The name of the next Alien movie and probably the last prequel is "Alien: Awakening" I know right, what an original name.
this first alien is my favorite. I loved the movie. I was upset that Dr. Shaw didn't get a better send off. she was just as badass as Ripply and an amazing strong lead. the little pass over seriously dropped the ball. that women went through so much and her write off was kinda crappy.

Just because ridley scott listed the names of the film out of order doesn't mean its a prequel to covenant, thats fucking stupid to even believe that.
One of the reviews for this movie on Rotten Tomatoes - "An interstellar version of Friday the 13th, with a respectable ensemble of actors as the camp counselors and various fanged slimeballs filling in for Jason Voorhees" LMAO!
Dexter Morgan well shit, I guess that's Ridley making up for lack of alien in Prometheus. And again he disappoints by not getting to the root questions of the Engineers. Although we see destruction, there's still questions needed to be answered.
The first Alien is definite my favorite Sci-Fi horror movie. However, I feel Pitch Black often goes overlooked, and I think it's a really enjoyable movie.
I haven't watched the 1951 movie. Just the John Carpenter's 1982 version and the 2011 prequel, which for me this last one was pretty decent. I didn't know there was an original version. I think I'll watch it today. Thanks man. 👍
No problem. Both the 1951 and 1981 are based off a book called "Who Goes There?" published in 1938 and written by John W. Campbell. Just in case you would like to know. I personally haven't read it.
H E N T A I_ B L A S T I don't think it'll ever be a sequel but read "In the mountains of madness" by H. P. Lovecraft. I'm reading it and it gives me that "Thing" vibe.
The Next Film (Awakening) is set between Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, therefore bridging that 'gap' you mentioned and then the final film or two.. set after Covenant, will lead into the original Alien. Don't know why they are in a weird order, probably cause people moaned about there being no aliens in Prometheus but still, would've been nice for them to be released chronologically!
Gabriel is right so i guess we'll just have to wait see now, my opinion would be there should be one more film either side of Alien: Covenant to link them to Prometheus and the original Alien, talk of "6 sequels" has me worried though! But shooting is starting in 14 months so we should find out soon!
So Ridley just said that there are only a couple more movies planned and shooting will start within the year on the Alien: Covenant Sequel! People wanting a direct Prometheus sequel, I'm pretty sure there was was gonna be an official book to fill in the gaps leading to covenant, I hope we get that movie though!
Good deal, I'm gong to watch it. For me, Alien is first a horror and second a sci-fi. The sci-fi only serves as the framework for the horror. The brilliance of Alien, and Aliens, is in that they utilize the sci-fi genre to invoke TRUE horror, which is something that is not often or easily repeated, perhaps only in select Predator movies. The first two Alien movies were truly freaky and fit into my October round. I don't want a sci-fi adventure from my Alien movies, I want a truly creepy and freaky horror using sci-fi.
This movie is great. Ridley could not add all the action & horror as he works on the 3rd movie from this trilogy of prequels. I'm sure, we will see more xenomorphs in the 3rd film. My favorite Sci-Fi / Horror films are: the Alien trilogy (yes, I adore Alien 3 too), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), The Brood, The Thing (1982), Event Horizon, The Relic, Mimic, Signs, Scanners, Fire In the Sky, Deep Star Six, Leviathan, The Hidden, Cube.
Alien 3 needs more love! I would add Pandorum to your list, quite a cool flick especially in the first half and Swiss movie Cargo, not totally original but a good vibe throughout. Really enjoyed Life as well. But ultimately nothing beats Alien as far as sci-fi/horror goes.
Am I the only one who thinks that "Alien Covenant" is better than "Prometheus" BUT Elizabeth Shaw is still better and more likable than Daniels? Don't get me wrong, I love Daniels but Shaw is my 2nd inspiration in this universe (after adorable Ripley of course)
Andre Maldonado form experience He probably saw at the premier The premier always play a few weeks before it comes out in theaters It's worth I get tickets for all the marvel movies Cause of the deal I made
Mike Awesome yeah I know it's just Damn I remember when he used to put of the Review like the weekend of the movie coming out. Looks like I just have to get use to it.
Alien is a great horror flick. Aliens is a great action-suspense flick. Alien 3 Assembly Cut is decent. Alien Resurrection is a good popcorn flick. AVP is a good time no alcohol required. AVP Requiem is dog shit. Prometheus is a great horror-sci-fi-suspense flick. Predator is a awesome action flick. Predator 2 is a good time no alcohol required. Predators is a meh flick. Alien Covenant....... We'll see!!
thats funny.... the movie made perfect sense to me. only 1 question though.... wtf was the queen ? if there were eggs......but david did mention to the captain that they were waiting for mom
I'm just going to say it either Tom Hardy or Karl Urban for the next Wolverine. reboot x men and for the love of god stop messing up the time lines and continuity by either giving the rights back to Marvel or share them like Sony is doing with Spiderman..... just thinking of the mess that was apocalypse and the fact that Logan is only 8 years after the happy ending of days of future past smh
Despite Xmen fucks up good outweighs the bad, i love how they the good Xmen films are director driven not studio. Also Dinsey Marvel would never make an R 18 Deadpool or wolverine film and let directors do what they want.
This is the worse idea in history James Howlette Wolverine is gone for a long time now and Laura Kinney will likely take over the Wolverine title like in the comics and Marvel would only screw up the greatness that Fox has done with most of the X men films and Wolverine solo movies and the New Deadpool series Marvel would never make an R rated super hero movie and apocalypse wasn't really that bad it just didn't know how to time itself right the third act wasn't strong and they didn't do enough with the villain but that was mostly it and Logan easily the best super hero movie to ever come out since The Dark Knight.
Cannot wait for this, i am going for both and from what i heard Ridley Scott will be making three more films and one of them will bridge the gap between Prometheus and Alien Covenant.
Logi Bro his channel is just nothing but movie reviews and reactions. The uproar became so bad he mad a video "promising" to do less movie reviews and 1 angry review every other Tuesday or something and he did that once. Never stuck to the schedule and just does 1 angry review after 30 movie reviews it seems. He's really fallen off
Leo Gabriel Roque Fariñas I feel like Ridley did that shit on purpose again to piss people off. You can't make the same mistake twice unless Intentional. I also feel like the whole not wearing protective suit was part of the thing like they all that technology on ship
Yeah at least Alien 1 and Prometheus had them using the helmets in the new planet. This one had a human-tolerable atomsphere though... The weird part was seeing them ignore all quarantine and medical protocols. BUT HEY, that's how you create the conditions for the mess up that happens. So yeah, lazy but still the rest of the movie rocked.
I thought that some of the characters made some stupid choices and that some parts at the end were predictable. Also, many of the crew members were there just to die. On the other hand I liked the acting, visuals, philosophy, gore/suspense, the neomorphs, the tone, and the characters of David, Walter, Daniels, Oram, and Tennessee. i think that those five are just as good as Ash and Ripley in the original. Also while Karine, Farris, and Upworth aren't given much depth, they all do something that made me remember them. Honestly if you think about the original alien the characters aren't anything special they just feel like real people. Same thing with covenant. Overall I'd give it a 7/10 that's very close to an 8. I think people are being way to harsh on this movie. I see people complaining about the lack of character depth and characters making dumb choices and they treat it like its the worst thing in the world even though there are plenty of other big movies with far weaker characters that also make dumb choices that audiences just ignore. Not to mention that those other movies are usually far less ambitious and are far weaker on a technical level. Also people that didn't like prometheus because it didn't have the xenomorphs and did have the engineers are also upset that covenant had the xenomorphs and didn't have the engineers. I like that we don't have all the answers. It lets us think about what could have happened. Wait...holy shit I watched angry joe's review and realized what the problem is. These people are so driven by nostalgia and fanboyism that they want alien 5 directed by Blomkamp because they want more ripley and xenomorphs. They don't want all of this interesting philosophy or these new android characters and alien creatures. They just want straightforward fan service instead of something more interesting with fan service. Well Blomkamp's alien sequel would have been terrible. The guy has had a faster career dive than m night Shyamalan
Leo Gabriel Roque Fariñas I'm sorry, but this film is a poorly made, poorly paced snore fest. Characters? Who? Plot? Predictable. CGI? Average at best. Direction? Meh. Writing? Piss poor. Dialogue? Amazingly bad. Scary? No. Well paced? Felt like it lasted forever. No jumpscares? That's good. No real horror apart from gore? Eh.....it was poorly done. I couldn't stop laughing throughout the film because everything felt so artificial and forced. 3/10, time to pass it on Ridley, nostalgia helps you skate past the worst of the year so far.
Holy crap Jeremy. I have been watching your videos since your avatar review in 2009! I can't believe it's almost been 8 years!?? I'm proud of you for becoming so big and I'm glad you stuck to it all this time. You're the only movie reviewer I've even watched in these almost 8 years. I believe I said something along the lines of thinking you were gonna be big one day on my first comment. I'm really happy for you, keep up the great work!
So its just a filler in order to cash in from the franchise success.....sad, that prologue with Fassbender got me interested in seeing more about the whole Engineers thing.
Jay Billz... Children of men is phenomenal. Matrix also. ...but War of the worlds? They defeated aliens by giving them cold? Cmon we don't have the same root of origin so it is very unlikely to get virus infection from extraterrestrial species. Besides the aliens were examening our world for ages. How could they not know everything there is to know about our world? And star Wars is just hmmmm. Ok, live and let live :)... you get a pass for the first 3 movies you listed.
Alien is my fav sci-fi horror. Also that outro is just about the coolest outro I've ever seen (even though I've been here for a while I've never commented on the outro so there ya go)
Y'know my favorite parts about this were the parts without aliens actually. Walter, Walter in general, going about the ship before anything bad happens, the flute scene of course, the ship powering up. It just felt like the last twenty minutes they were trying to cram in as many visual cues from other movies as possible. *Spolers* Remember when they try to blast the alien into space in the first two movies? Remember when Ripley was in a tank top and armed with a gun at the end of Aliens? Remember when Lambert is disturbingly implied to be raped with the alien's tail? Remember when they wore big space suits like in Alien? Because they sure look different from the one Tenseness and Arkon used for repairs. I sort of wish Scott stuck to the the Engineers. I mean they aren't that interesting compared to the Xenomorphs but they had potential. I still wish they were elephant people though.
What is missing from Ridley Scott's new "Alien" movie is human villain, like corporate head Paul Reiser from James Cameron's "Aliens." Scarier than xenomorphs and renegade robot is human who sees dangerous lifeforms as a weapon of control.
Just watched this movie, really fell short of expectations. Prometheus was way better. Too many plot holes ruined it for me. The biggest being Walter could heal his wounds, like that neck puncture from the flute, yet the surviving crew didn't notice David's inability to heal the scar on his face. When they escaped from the temple, the first thing they should've done was confirm if it was David or Walter.
I think Ridley Scott needs to pass the Alien franchise along. He's trying to be different but still make alien movies. Be different, Ridley, let go of the past and move on.
true. I think that is what is really going on here. He really just wants to tell a story about creation and comment on AI and has to use the Alien name to get it out there.
This story is bs I fell like writer did next things "Who Enginiers are and why we have same DNA? Kill them", "Explain us why Engineers want to kill us? Kill them". This is fucking trash, it is not a movie
I guess science fiction is just action in space now. This film had no memorable characters, consistent internal logic, or coherent story. Everything that happened in the first 40 minutes of this movie was just about getting the face hugger on that dudes noggin. How long until the alien shows up, that's what the original one was about right. It's pretty hard to build tension on screen when characters are so unimpressed they ash cigarettes on the newly discovered world and pee all over it 5 minuets after landing. If you do go and see this movie, try to understand why a character is doing a thing, or better yet, try to remember most of their names. By the end you'll be wondering: Hey, what happened to that blond guy who helped East Bound and Down guy fix the space sail? Or: Was most of the crew not wanting to get back into their space pods really strong enough motivation to explore an unresearched alien world? Who cares just turn your brains off and wait for a dumb drooling cgi monster to show up for no reason other than to take your money I guess.
practical effects are shit. xenos are supposed to be fast and deadly not just a bunch of NBA players in costumes. I for one, thinks the cgi portrays them quite well
pussydestroyer the fault of the movies is giving too much exposure and screen time to the Alien. the great thing about the original was you RARELY saw the alien, and when you did it was for a brief moment. the practical effects are better because you shouldn't be seeing the alien flying around all over the place. that is a fault with every sequel to Alien. I fucking hate seeing the Aliens running around like a pack of ants. original will always be the best for its use of practical effects and suspense.
Garrett I couldn't agree more ! Aliens just felt odd with the army of xenomorphs who were getting slaughtered just by a few bullets which weren't as menacing as the one single xenomorph in Alien.
CGI was bad at the second half of the movie..... xenomorph look pretty fake compare to the old alien movies including AVP, maybe they use more real life model than CGI in the past Reasons for why all this Shit happening in the first place unacceptable, maybe in a typical horror movie i would allow it but not for a sci-fi horror because they are not any ordinary human. sometime it's so stupid, u start to wonder why like seriously why? Certain Plot "Surprise" are so obvious, i rather have more time on the crew trying to figure it out slowly. The good? Michael Fassbender, what can i say he is that good!!!!!!! IF u wan a Alien film u will be slightly disappointed, Prometheus Fans sorry to say NO more Engineer stuff....sad
Whats actually very usefull about Jeremy's channel is that whenever I don't know what movie to watch I watch his channel and I just look at Jeremy's face on the thumbnail and that way you can tell if the movie is good or bad and when its good and looks interesting watch the review and then I can go watch a movie xD
Okay so I'm like a few years late! so the black goo is a bio-weapon that creates infantry that are xenomorph like and kill any survives of the first attack, but are then perfected... Still better than palpatine coming back!
I watched Prometheus and Alien Covenant for the first time in one day. Pretty sweet. Love the theme (as in the message/idea for the movie) in these two movies and I love Michael Fassbender being the leading role in both of them. He's brilliant and I love the characters he plays, specially David
To be fair, Ripley and Hicks were the only people in the Alien franchise that consistently made smart decisions.
Granted but I don''t think Vasquez was lesbian
Don't you know if a girl has short hair she's automatically a lesbian? duh

ditto Bishop, all the Aliens survivors really

Standard logic of character in Alien film:
What's this an egg opening? I better put my face *RIGHT OVER IT*
Dormammu So true.
I figured out why....it's the only sex they'll ever get to have...great sacrifices were made...
They want to know whether or not they can make an omelet out of it
Dormammu I've come to bargain
Dormammu Real humans do this because we are curious and like watching animals.
That poster is spectacular
HappiestSadGuy was thinking that too and wondering why nobody pointed it out.

Bst sci-fi horror thiller? Alien of course.
Just as The Thing is. I think most people can agree that these two are among the greatest science fiction movies of all time.
Alien was just a slasher in space movie.
The movie should be retitled 'Alien: The Ballads of David'
It's a *presequel* movie

Best Sci-fi Thriller-Horror movie: The Thing. Anyone???
Which one? There are three. The 1951 original, the 1982 remake or the 2011 prequel?
The Thing for me too actually
The last good Aliens movie was Aliens 2. Prometheus and Covenant lowered the bar more than I thought possible!
No...Awakening was the initial title for Alien 5 which is dead now.
i hope we finally get a prometheus sequel bec i want to know more about the engineers!
Yea based on what I saw in the movie it doesn't seem like there's much room for a direct prometheus sequel.
Chocolate?
Did you say, Chocolate?!
fncsp yes sir. With or without nuts?
CHOCOLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYTE!
Hahahaow! *FINALLY*!!! I've been trying to catch you boys all day, now that I've got you right where I want you....!!!
"...I'd like to buy all your chocolate."
…………… thank you for your patronage.
I personally loved the movie
no
Yeah!!
Try the movie Life it was awesome sci fi movie
I grew up with Alie....oh wrong reviewer...
Go raise Pan
Pickle-Lo LOL
If a movie plays in the woods and no one is around to watch it, did Stuckmann still grow up with it?
The Chris Stuckmann meme 😂
Never gets old lol
This movie is great. Ridley could not add all the action & horror as he works on the 3rd movie from this trilogy of prequels. I'm sure, we will see more xenomorphs in the 3rd film.
My favorite Sci-Fi / Horror films are: the Alien trilogy (yes, I adore Alien 3 too), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), The Brood, The Thing (1982), Event Horizon, The Relic, Mimic, Signs, Scanners, Fire In the Sky, Deep Star Six, Leviathan, The Hidden, Cube.
I'd add They Live and Pandorum but your list is fantastic
I agree. I even think Cube inspired the whole Saw franchise and tons of other films
Believe me, I adore Pandorum plus Cargo was awesome too. I guess I love almost every sci-fi/horror film. It's my favorite genre
irina1296 The movie was great? Well, we know who has shit taste.
What I literally said when that guy leans right over the alien egg
"Come on dude, have you never seen an alien movie?"
0:59
People acting dumb in a horror movie ? Not too surprised bout that, since stupidity is the genre's common theme. Awesome review, Jahns :D
fanofwar40k actually the boyfriend is lights out was actually really smart in certain situations
I need watch prometheus before I watch alien covenant?
You will be like confused for like two characters but Prometheus isn't that bad just not great lol
not really but you should anyways. you may really like it.
Prometheus was awesome
André Filipe Prometheus is an awesome movie, definitely check it out
André Filipe yes they r connected
These 2 movies were so badly done they didn't do the third. Let that sink in. Should have been titled "Idiots in Space".
Alien is my favorite Sci Fi thriller horror movie. Goosebumps to this day.
ViolaXZ it would be perfect if they just made these two movies into one.
Yeah, it's like Picard over Kirk, but The Original Series over The Next Generation.
ViolaXZ HONESTLY! What's it with people and the love for E. Shaw? It just surprises me that she gets a lot of love
ViolaXZ i kinda hated Shaw lol
Daniels was kinda boring...
This movie comes out 2 weeks from now!!!! How the hell??!?!?
Andre Maldonado form experience
He probably saw at the premier
The premier always play a few weeks before it comes out in theaters
It's worth
I get tickets for all the marvel movies Cause of the deal I made
Mike Awesome yeah I know it's just Damn I remember when he used to put of the Review like the weekend of the movie coming out. Looks like I just have to get use to it.
It's called early screenings duh
MG3 yeah I know I'm just use to him making a review the weekend of the movie coming out lol.
obviously not this time and this isn't the first time he's got to see a movie early
We'll see!!
King-Of-Nightcore-VEVO Alien: Resurrection is dog shit. I wanted to die!!
I thought Prometheus was good, but not as good as the first two Alien films.
King-Of-Nightcore-VEVO saw this on Chris's review lol
I like your way of thinking I would only change two on this list but still love the ranking.
Nah, Resurrection is a "guilty pleasure" film, it's a good popcorn flick.
I'm Marry Poppins y'all !!
lmao I just saw Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Great movie.
You're beautiful
on the inside.
Matt Garcya it's a delightful mix of kindness and savagery
A TH-cam Account I hated it. Guardians 2 was shit
Captain America You're joking right?
0:02 When my mum opens the curtains on a VERY sunny day
7 years later & this comment killed me 😂😂😂😂
@Chris-q4h seven years later and I'm glad to hear:D
@@chrrybmbz5362 have you seen romulus ?:D
thats funny.... the movie made perfect sense to me. only 1 question though.... wtf was the queen ? if there were eggs......but david did mention to the captain that they were waiting for mom
We will probably see that in the sequel
Will you be doing a spoiler talk on Alien Covenant Jeremy?
Oscar Johnson When it comes out in cinemas, probably.
Oscar Johnson pls do one that will be awesome and I would love to know more about what happened In the movie also the gore aswell. Whoop!!!
Not until release I think. It would kill the hype if he makes a spoiler talk early on this.
This franchise is a masterpiece
alien 3 and 4 was ass though
Ellen79 only the first 2 were good though
Alien, Aliens, and Prometheus are the only good ones. Alien 3 is ok at best. Resurrection, AvP, and Requiem are complete and utter shit
Agreed!
I actually think Alien 3 was a pretty good movie. I'll fight you on that.
You know I think Jeremy is one those people who gets handsome when he ages more.yup.
You're like the intravenous equivalent of a good movie review. Straight to the point and quick. Subscribed.
I actually enjoyed it as much as the original Alien movie. Maybe less impresive than the original one, but an awesome movie. Loved it.
I WANNA SEE THIS MOVIE SO BAD
I'm just going to say it either Tom Hardy or Karl Urban for the next Wolverine. reboot x men and for the love of god stop messing up the time lines and continuity by either giving the rights back to Marvel or share them like Sony is doing with Spiderman..... just thinking of the mess that was apocalypse and the fact that Logan is only 8 years after the happy ending of days of future past smh
Robert Vega
X-Men are fine. They just need better writers is all.
Despite Xmen fucks up good outweighs the bad, i love how they the good Xmen films are director driven not studio. Also Dinsey Marvel would never make an R 18 Deadpool or wolverine film and let directors do what they want.
This is the worse idea in history James Howlette Wolverine is gone for a long time now and Laura Kinney will likely take over the Wolverine title like in the comics and Marvel would only screw up the greatness that Fox has done with most of the X men films and Wolverine solo movies and the New Deadpool series Marvel would never make an R rated super hero movie and apocalypse wasn't really that bad it just didn't know how to time itself right the third act wasn't strong and they didn't do enough with the villain but that was mostly it and Logan easily the best super hero movie to ever come out since The Dark Knight.
agreed Logan this is the best Marvel film of all time (2nd for superhero) and coming second is Spiderman 2
@Dynamo HD God you need to learn how to use ponctuation. This was horrible to read.
Can someone make a loop of that intro thanks
Cannot wait for this, i am going for both and from what i heard Ridley Scott will be making three more films and one of them will bridge the gap between Prometheus and Alien Covenant.
My favorite Sci-fi horror movie ever is John Carpenter's The Thing (1982)...That Xenomorph impression was hilarious LOL!
Cool. Very Cool.
thank you Jeremy for sticking to your content and not ruining your appeal like angry fucking joe
Carbon Based Life Form I haven't watched angry Joe in a while. what did he do?
Logi Bro his channel is just nothing but movie reviews and reactions. The uproar became so bad he mad a video "promising" to do less movie reviews and 1 angry review every other Tuesday or something and he did that once. Never stuck to the schedule and just does 1 angry review after 30 movie reviews it seems. He's really fallen off
Saw it yesterday. It was fucking amazing. Everything except the security and quarantine protocols of the worlds dumbest crew = PERFECTION .
The whole David-Walter interaction and comparisons are top class. The Xeno looked better than ever, while still looking like Alien 1.
I don't think i'll ever be able to unsee Jeremy's xenomorph impression from the opening of this, aliens will forever remind me of this
Holy crap Jeremy. I'm really happy for you, keep up the great work!
me, personally, I loved this film
Eli Propeck lol who are you mocking?
Darth Michael chill it's an rlm reference
Me too, I personally loved this movie. It was very cool, very cool
What are you drinking?
bleach
I loved you in the Matrix
Jeff The Theorist Except he took the other pill..
Whelp, I was going to go to sleep. I have different plans now
Andres Vazquez tf you going to sleep for its saturday
monearthe$ lmao ikr
LMFAO, probably one of the funniest intros, I´ve ever seen you do, Jeremy!
Your Xenomorph hiss made me shit my pants laughing, Jeremy.
So its just a filler in order to cash in from the franchise success.....sad, that prologue with Fassbender got me interested in seeing more about the whole Engineers thing.
Jeff Herc they're stretching it into 2 more films. giving parts of the engies history throughout the sequels
+Badabing Bing A movie should be good on it's own without relying on prequels and sequels
Gray Fox obviously
So, basically making more fillers with a little bit of actual lore....sad
How tf did you gather that from what Jeremy was talking about?
My 5 Favorite sci fi movies??
Children of Men
The Matrix
District 9
War of the Worlds
Star Wars
Mostly great picks. If I'd have to play "which one doesn't fit with the others" I'd say District 9.
mabusestestament I just can't like District 9. Begins as a science fiction movie and all of a sudden turns into a action shooter movie.
2001, The Thing, Aliens, T2, Robocop but that's just off the top of my head
I could actually throw I Am Legend in there too, replacing D9. Loved that movie
I loved Prometheus and I love this one even more
dont you feel the scientists are so dumb? or girls like that kind of decisions ?
Alien is my fav sci-fi horror. Also that outro is just about the coolest outro I've ever seen
(even though I've been here for a while I've never commented on the outro so there ya go)
Jeremy doing the Xenomorph impression at the beginning made me laugh so hard
1. John Carpenter's The Thing
2. Alien
3. Aliens
I just got back from the movie... It was fucking amazing.
The thing! That movie still gives me chills. Love it though.
The fact they killed shaw offscreen is criminal
I loved it! This is the Alien film we've been waiting for, an ACTUAL Alien film!
The Alien movie I'm waiting for is Jar Jar Binks Meets Alien.
I feel like Jeremy Jahns doesn't actually watch films before he reviews them..... His statements are so general.
What is missing from Ridley Scott's new "Alien" movie is human villain, like corporate head Paul Reiser from James Cameron's "Aliens." Scarier than xenomorphs and renegade robot is human who sees dangerous lifeforms as a weapon of control.
cnoevl67 so a marvel alien movie?
Jeremy, is that a bottle of Furphy at 3:38!? :D If so thanks for buying / supporting Aussie beer, that one's my favourite down here. Cheers to you.
Nowadays it's hard to get your movie financed if it's not of a popular brand.
true. I think that is what is really going on here. He really just wants to tell a story about creation and comment on AI and has to use the Alien name to get it out there.
Uh oh he's turning into George Lucas since he canceled the Neil Blomkamp alien movie, I don't think he wants to give it up.
Yeah like every blomkamp guy is totally not living the past with wanting a new ripley and hicks movie! Sure!
Let go of the past Ridley!
How about Scott read a few vintage Heavy Metal comics so he can remember what universe Alien was in. I wish to see a movie set in that not Star Trek.
This story is bs I fell like writer did next things "Who Enginiers are and why we have same DNA? Kill them", "Explain us why Engineers want to kill us? Kill them". This is fucking trash, it is not a movie
Viktor Lipovka the engineers want to kill us bc we are a disappointment in there eyes .
Finally someone who doesn't shit on this movie :) Good review
Favorite sci-fi horror thriller..? Signs.
That birthday party scene scares the skittles out of me TO THIS DAY.
2 of the producers of the Alien franchise, up till Resurrection are named David Giler and Walter Hill. David and Walter.
Alien covenant sucks. David created the Xenomorphs. The aliens are shitty CGI. James Cameron made the best alien film.
practical effects are shit. xenos are supposed to be fast and deadly not just a bunch of NBA players in costumes. I for one, thinks the cgi portrays them quite well
Alien is far better than Aliens, it's not even close.
I feel like CGI works a lot better if you blend it with practical effects like in Jurassic park.
pussydestroyer the fault of the movies is giving too much exposure and screen time to the Alien. the great thing about the original was you RARELY saw the alien, and when you did it was for a brief moment. the practical effects are better because you shouldn't be seeing the alien flying around all over the place. that is a fault with every sequel to Alien.
This franchise has now died. Alien is supposed to be smart horror. This film is dumb dumb dumb horror.
That Alien impressions made me laugh so much! 😂
great review Jeremy. Can I put Sunshine as my answer? I really like that film.
This dude didn't even watch the movie lmao
Nah, it was shit.
CGI was bad at the second half of the movie..... xenomorph look pretty fake compare to the old alien movies including AVP, maybe they use more real life model than CGI in the past
Reasons for why all this Shit happening in the first place unacceptable, maybe in a typical horror movie i would allow it but not for a sci-fi horror because they are not any ordinary human. sometime it's so stupid, u start to wonder why like seriously why?
Certain Plot "Surprise" are so obvious, i rather have more time on the crew trying to figure it out slowly.
The good? Michael Fassbender, what can i say he is that good!!!!!!!
IF u wan a Alien film u will be slightly disappointed, Prometheus Fans sorry to say NO more Engineer stuff....sad
are these guys payed to give good reviews to shitty movies?
Yes, because it is impossible to have differing opinions
Whats actually very usefull about Jeremy's channel is that whenever I don't know what movie to watch I watch his channel and I just look at Jeremy's face on the thumbnail and that way you can tell if the movie is good or bad and when its good and looks interesting watch the review and then I can go watch a movie xD
been waiting for jeremy to do his alien impression for ages
Does Sunshine count? The ending always freaks me out.
Almost Heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River...
Favourite sci-fi horror? Well Alien is the obvious answer
But just to be contrarian I'd sad Pitch Black.
i've been watching you for years and I've never noticed you having your laundry going while doing a video before
That happy face got me happy so you know Somthing good is coming
Okay so I'm like a few years late!
so the black goo is a bio-weapon that creates infantry that are xenomorph like and kill any survives of the first attack, but are then perfected...
Still better than palpatine coming back!
A Jeremy Jahns and Chris Stuckman collab will probably clear my skin completely.
That was probably my favourite intro by you
"So that's it, huh? We some kind of... Alien Covenant?
I watched Prometheus and Alien Covenant for the first time in one day. Pretty sweet. Love the theme (as in the message/idea for the movie) in these two movies and I love Michael Fassbender being the leading role in both of them. He's brilliant and I love the characters he plays, specially David
