Basically arguing either that the shadow hokage is the “real hokage” or that itachi was simply the ultimate embodiment of a shinobi, even more than a hokage. & boruto Carries on the idea that he will be the ninja that seeks no glory and protects the village. The fan base did make the term less exclusive by giving jiraiya the title, and tobirama for hiruzen. But it’s noted every hokage needs a key advisor either way.

In the Boruto manga The card Boruto wanted the most is The Supporting Shadow SSR level and its Sasuke so its actually called The Supporting Shadow.

Sasuke's card is an extremely rare (SSR, aka super secret rare) card that Boruto desires the the most, because Sasuke is Boruto's teacher and Naruto's rival. Sasuke's card is called, "The Supporting Shadow".

When Jaraiya was number 3, I was confused as to who could be 1/2. Then I remembered Tobirama was a Shadow Hokage before becoming a full Hokage. I always just saw him as the Second Hokage, never the First Shadow Hokage.

It’s crazy to think how much of the show would change if fugaku became the 4th hokage especially considering he was the best candidate he had immense power and intelligence and unlike minato was older and had more wisdom and experience.
Also he would have always put the Uchiha first. So no he wasn't the best choice. Minato was the best choice. The biggest problem is danzo. Had he been taken out the Uchiha would have never felt slighted
@@johnsonjohnny675 there’s nothing proving he would always put the uchiha first in fact it’s the opposite fugaku was objective and cared for everyone if you read the itachi novels you would know more about him he didn’t even want the uchiha coup it was the clan that forced him into doing it he would’ve been the best candidate for hokage at that time he wasn’t biased towards his own clan he looked at everyone the same. He was also 31 at the time they were electing while minato was only 22 fugaku was almost a decade older, wiser, and more experienced.

Never was a bad dude and didn’t want to do it but had to. If he would’ve became hokage this would’ve been years before the coup even got brought up and so it never would’ve happened.

Danzo was willing to let the leaf get destroyed during pain attack just so he can become hokage. Danzo was was the worst.
We actually saw a little about Tobirama's life so he actually might be #1 shadow Hokage, but Sasuke, yeah we saw everything about his life, so I vote for Tobirama

Itachi used Jiraiya, a member of the Sannin as the perfect excuse to back off of Naruto. We all know what Itachi did to arguably the most powerful Sannin when nobody else was around 🙃. This was also part 1 when the Sannin were so prestigious and held in high regard. Wasn’t the case in Shippuden as we know the powerful people don’t care if they are Sannin bcus they are just as powerful if not more than they are. It was simply a badge of honor for surviving long enough 💀
I mean, them 3 are crazy powerful and deserve that title. Way more than a badge, and I can fully argue and support it.

I've said this for YEARS!! Sasuke is generations Danzo, minus the horde of ROOT nin at his command. He doing exactly what Danzo did....protect Konoha from the shadows.
What I never understood is why hokage doesn't employ trusted members of stuff to deal with paperwork for him. The strongest ninja is selected to be a hokage, not the best at financial / diplomatic stuff. Let hokage be the ultimate protector. Let him train and only make decisions which are important in the grand scheme of things. They could have few members of staff employed by hokage and few sent by clans, so that it isn't complete monopoly on power...

Everyone in the comments talking about the Kage Kage word play but it makes sense when you think about it. The kage stands before the village and casts their shadow over it. The shadow Kage stands in the villages Shadow, protecting it from 'behind'.

Kinda like how George Washington has to be the best presidents/top three presidents until and unless America completely restructures itself into a better system. If Tobirama's Konoha (and it is Tobi's Konoha, not Hashirama's) were bad, it would die or be completely different than it was then.
Jiraiya didn’t actually scare off Itachi, and Kisame that’s most likely just an excuse given by Itachi because of his role as a double agent. Power scaling also supports this. Orochimaru is the strongest member of the Sannin, and Itachi beat Orochimaru with zero difficulty as a arguably weaker shinobi considering that it’s highly likely Itachi could’ve done the same to Jiraiya with Kisame as support ensuring the victory. It’s disappointing you hate Sasuke so much you speed ran the section where you laid out the accomplishments he’s made as a Shadow Hokage.

I think Jiryaya should have been second with Tobirama in third place, but no one can argue that setting the village up financially was a bad decision (just how he went about it being morally unethical).
