    Hello Serge. I first saw this amazing photograph on 500px where I liked it and favored it. I have been a fan of your for quite some time, and I agree with you. I think this has to be one of my favorite photographs you have done. Big Sur is beautiful and you were blessed to have caught it during an amazing sunset. You have inspired me to go north and make another trip up there. Thanks for telling us where this shot was taken. I too often wonder where exactly this was since I have seen this angle several times now.
    I appreciate your great instruction and enthusiasm. I also appreciate you telling us the value you set some of the sliders. Please continue to do so we can get an idea where you are making your pictures pop. Great photo and great video - Congratulations on this shot. Thanks for sharing. - Frank

    Hi Serge , This vedio was fantastic! What do you suggest best for covering panaroma 1. taking vertical shots in one row or 2. horizontal shot in two deck (as in this vedio).
    Thank you so much. I have subscribed and following your channel. here I am learning something new. I like videos because you teach us right from the base idea behind taking photo up to the post processing.

    hello Serge,thanks for you helpful vedio,but I still have a question before shooting the panorama. Do I take the photo from left to right along the horizontal line? or just take random part of the view? The lightroom will correct the panorama automatically?

  • @kalidesu
    @kalidesu 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can't believe this was with an a7s, the more I look what people are doing Sony A7S the more I want it. They seem so flexible and not just a low light camera.
    While people would say A7r or A7rII would be better for landscape, the problems of the A7r autofocus and heavy shutter issues and the expensive A7rII with overheating issues turns me off.

  • @apdeshpande

    Awesome!! This time you didn't do any noise reduction of masking for sky... any specific reason?

    • @IanLockley
      @IanLockley 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** On the subject of noise reduction and sharpening, something I noticed recently when I moved from DX to FX was that the sharpening on my old DX photos brought in a lot of noise around the edges where I was sharpening using the default Lightroom values (not so much on the FX photos as the sensor/lens is a big improvement). One way to reduce the sharpening noise is to reduce Radius to around 0.7 and Detail to 7. This dramatically reduces sharpening noise on older format photos when compared to the Lightroom default values.
      By the way, thank you very much for all of your tutorials over the last few years. They have been an inspiration.

    the video is great, the picture is realy one in million..... great great
    but when i see what u can pull out out of one file, i mean with my canon 6d id needed to do an Bracket HDR ..... and everbody on the internet is complaining because sony doesent give out a true uncompressed raw file like you would get with nikon with the same sensor..... but man i am impressed what possible with that sony cameras

    Hello Serge,
    I have a question - lets say that I want to edit this panorama photo in photoshop but I still want to have the ability to use it as a raw file to be able to play with the white balance etc...
    Can I make a panorama in photoshop,convert it to a smart object and than to use camera raw? wouldn't it be the same?
    LOVE your videos!
    Thanks!

    is it necesary to take the photos with the same settings of shutter speed and aperture to make a panorama?

    • @HarryBalsak
      @HarryBalsak 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Nicanor Villanueva That is generally recommended so your DOF doesn't change. You should not change the ISO or white balance either, so I wouldn't use Auto. That being said, I've shot using aperture priority and MS ICE stitched them together fine.

    Not photography anymore, I was a professional photographer for many years shooting on 5x4 colour slide location and in my studio where all the work was done by photographers vision and skills with the camera, now monkeys can take brilliant pics because its all done in photoshop, they used to say "photographs don't lie" I don't bother anymore and my 5x4's haven't been out of their cases for years now, I ended up working for the press The Sun, News of the World, Mirror etc but even that is monkeys with cameras...

    Digital photography is killing the art, learn to get it right in camera. Learn the art, any one can take a photograph and then butcher in post process. I have spent 45 years perfecting my photography, only to see it butchered by digital.
