    This video confirms adaptive steer by wire. It only takes 180 degrees of steering rotation to turn the front wheels to the stops (or close to it). For comparison, my '22 Tundra requires 540 degrees to do the same. It will make the yoke usable, in fact, preferred.

    This is very interesting. Looks like from nose to rear of cab it is almost identical in length to that four door crew cab truck, with a box perhaps a bit shorter.
    Although now that I am taking a second look, the sun seems to be fortuitously directly perpendicular to the road. Looking at the length of the shadows cast on the ground, I am thinking the CT is definitely shorter (the Ford trucks shadow is wider front to back). Not having access to any image analysis software, I second the request for a view from directly above next time to make the comparison more robust.

    I'm sure somebody's already commented, but just in case, I love how in tight turns that the rear wheels turned in the other direction as the front to keep the turn radius small such as when it pilled away from the charger and when it pulled a u-turn. Thanks for the bonus video!!! 👍😎

    What was the small dark car behind the Cybertruck? It had what appeared to be a partial “T” logo on it. It looked considerably smaller than a model 3/Y. The roof reflection did not look like it was glass. In fact, further back was a white Tesla that with a glass roof. It was definitely longer than the mystery car I am asking about.

    4ws, been around for decades,
    4ws has also been working this way as long as I remember, slightly turn and the wheels turn the same way but turn more and The rear wheels turn the opposite way. Thats not a new idea, if they would turn the opposite way from the start it would be crazy dangerous at higher speeds.

    • @JoeTegtmeyer
      @JoeTegtmeyer  ปีที่แล้ว

      The old mechanical 4WS systems and toe-out flexible bushing systems like the Porsche 928 sort of worked, it were extremely complex mechanical systems that tended to be unreliable and maintenance headaches. More modern steer by wire computerized systems have come a long way and I think this is the latest example and probably much more reliable. That is what is important to see in the Cybertruck.

Sure some will pay the 10k to get a wrap but most won't so again the same vehicle, same variant and same Stainless body. You know how if you get an old, inept dog and throw a hotdog to it and it totally fails to carch it and the hot dog bounces off its face and falls into the gutter? Yeah. That's the camera operetor that made the first portion of this video. Guy needs to be taken "hunting" out back and replaced with a fresh one.
