    Okay, before the reveal, I'm going to call it: The vault cover no longer 'rolls' down into the underbody. They've run it right into the roof! No bending, far less parts and complexity, and if it comes equipped as a solar array, it can operate all the time, whether retracted or extended. I wish the shot could have seen from inside looking up. I'll bet you can't see through the roof glass when the vault is open. Take a look at the close-up front windshield shot - see the material extension above the sun visors where the upper light bar used to be? I'm certain that's the edge of the tonneau cover. And if THAT is correct, the midgate can drop! Holy crap, I sure hope my little theory is correct!

    • @simonlindley2950
      @simonlindley2950 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@eternalbalance7703 Yeah, exactly. In the post-reveal prototypes, I was always wondering why Tesla had extended the glass down beyond the truck bed from the original, and put a 'lip' there, which seemed to serve no purpose but shrink the overall upper access length of the bed. However, if you include that extension it seems to make sense. In the most recent image where we first saw the new triangle mirrors, the tonneau cover isn't fully retracted but visible, and yet one can still see through the midgate glass to the driver. The only explanation for this is that the solar array/vault tonneau no longer runs vertically down into the under body, but across and up. With my work, the midgate is really important. Here's hoping!

      Agree. If the wheel well intrusion into the vault is necessary for all-wheel steering, I hope they make it an option. Rectangular bed is important for Cyberlandr add on. I'd love all wheel steering, but not if it means I can't have Cyberlandr.

      Yeah, I really like this steering wheel design. Regular round steering wheels are too big and often get in the way. The flat top gives better views and the flat bottom makes it a lot easier to get in and out of the vehicle. The 'yoke' went a bit too far, but this compromise seems just right. • @geirmyrvagnes8718
      @geirmyrvagnes8718 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1) The top of the passenger side of the windshield is normally not covered, anyway. The top of this particular windscreen is probably mostly for birdwatching, so I think it could work OK. It should cover the same parts of the windshield that is normally covered if you consider only the lower half where you actually look at the road/traffic. The geometry of the whole vehicle is so unconventional that conventional solutions would also be wrong. Two wipers in "normal" configuration would cover about 1/2. I think.

    It's hard to imagine that giant wiper blade swinging across the windshield fast enough to remove water during a very heavy downpour. Two small blades would look a little less crazy than one giant blade. That's literally the only thing I don't like about the truck.

    The only thing I'm not super happy about is that they didn't go with the original bed design. The original had slots like aircraft straps use. Other than that...👌👌👌

      I agree. The 'normal truck bed look' is way less cool than the steel slots...but I admit it is probably more practical this way for average people.

    Hello Rob. I hope the manufacturing is well refined when it comes to actual deliveries. I am looking forward to getting my Cybertruck.
    Well, I got a kick out of everyone thinking that Elon would announce another car or go further into Robo Taxi ideas during investor day. In case many missed it, Elon was launching the 'bigger' idea of energy sales and expansion. This is something Elon said could and would be even bigger than car sales... Now that car manufacturing is on a decent path, 5-year material contracts are fairly solid, and global social and political pressures are even deeper into electrification, his announcement should have been well received.

    • @4literv6

      $47,490 for a basic no frills single motor rwd with 280 miles of range, won't be available until 2025 at a minimum though sadly(this would replace my 2019 f-150 xl immediately if available at that price and in a reasonable time frame. Fleets of all type's would scoop those up by the thousands as well.
      Best seller is a dual motor 350+miles of range for $59,990+options of course. Bye bye bye gm/stla&fomoco ev dreams with this at scale. 😀
      Mack daddy plaid tri motor whatever it's named top spec version?
      1,000-1,200+-hp fsd inc 500-550 miles of range. $99,990 minimum starting price. Top production priority to start. 🙂

    One thing that has me curious is the frunk. I've never seen the hood open. The wiper base looks fat and now i need to see the hood open and clear it. Also Ford has set a pretty high bar for their frunk. I hope we get somewhere close to it.

  • @SolveFixBuild
    @SolveFixBuild ปีที่แล้ว +1

    New observations: bed liner, frunk looks to have a flat load floor at the bumper similar to Lightning, there is a panel in the bed (AC power?), big wiper looks like it’s going to stay, insulation and liners around door and window openings… anyone else see something new?

    • @brokencactus9854
