Where did the term catfish actually come from, like why is it called catfish?
@@JasminMiettunen I believe the name came from a story told to Nev, from his Catfishs' husband:
"They used to tank cod from Alaska all the way to China. They’d keep them in vats in the ship. By the time the codfish reached China, the flesh was mush and tasteless. So this guy came up with the idea that if you put these cods in these big vats, put some catfish in with them and the catfish will keep the cod agile. And there are those people who are catfish in life. And they keep you on your toes. They keep you guessing, they keep you thinking, they keep you fresh. And I thank god for the catfish because we would be droll, boring and dull if we didn’t have somebody nipping at our fin."
They used that to name the movie depicting his catfish experience.
Maybe that, and the obvious that a catfish is a word of two things..a cat and a fish...so ur talking to two ppl not knowing what ur getting. A cat that u think, but they could be someone totally different..a fish.

It’s because of the story his first catfish husband told just like Hiro mentioned above. It’s from the his first docu-movie. I remember when it first came out when I was in high school. There’s no play on words to it lol.

NorwegianPride it’s not all Americans, it really differs from home to home since America is such a large country. I know tons of people that ask for people to take their shoes off at the door, and then lots of people that don’t. I prefer personally not asking people to take their shoes off because some people might have some sort of foot problem they’re embarrassed about and I want to make people comfortable when they visit. I think we just have to vacuum and mop more often because of shoes being worn in the house haha, and of course there are mats at the door to wipe your feet so that cuts down a bit.

Max was the unsung hero of Catfish. It honestly will never be the same without him. He was the voice of reason and after this episode they were being catfished once again and Max suspected it early on. He gives 110% every time. Dammit I can’t watch this show now with the rotated co hosts.
