Nice flying and with the new setup the plane seems to have unlimited vertical. What prop are you using with the 4S? and does the stock motor support 4S?
Thank you much! The extra power allows this model to cruise around at around 40 - 50% throttle and pretty much has unlimited vertical. The motor and prop are stock. I think the stock esc can handle 4S, but I changed it out just for a little extra peace of mind.
@@frankflyrc I bought the 1700mm and my ESC (stock 45A FMS predator) caught fire after a totally normal flight. It did happen while the plane was upside down, but I also inverted it in the air. Might get a spektrum avian 45amp to replace it. How did you get in there to the ESC? Don't have easy access in mine...
@@misaelramos83 That sucks your ESC caught fire! The ZTW ESC 45A ESC I replaced the stock 40A one with is only slightly larger. The cowl and motor needed to be removed to access the ESC to change it out. Hopefully your upgraded ESC will work without issue.
Hi there, can you please tell me why you replaced the esc? My motor burnt out after about 3 flights, only on 3s though. I've got a new motor, esc, and receiver on the way I've lost confidence in the stock electronics, because I kept losing radio link. I'm running a tx16s as well, but it isn't the radio that's bad as I fly lots of other aircraft with no issues. They sure seem to need the battery a long way forward for cg to be correct. Looks like you got yours flying well?
Thank you much! I replaced the esc just for added comfort since I fly with a 2200 4s pack. It's not a big jump, but it's a ZTW 45amp esc rated to handle 2-6s batteries, plus it has a reverse lead. See Description, where I put my general setup of each plane I have. Hopefully you can get your radio signal issue squared away. It maybe the RX. I'm still kind of figuring out the cg. I'll have it moved slightly more forward the next time I bring this plane out to fly.
It did clip together, but I don't have much confidence in the plastic button style holding it together. Especially on a hard landing. My Durafly EFXtra and EFX Racers have that same style, and I ended up using Foam Tac to secures those elevator halves. One of them came loose on a hard landing. Using the screw (spare one from a servo kit) gives me more piece of mind about the elevator staying intact.
@@frankflyrc Oh you woulda loved the old parkzone planes where they used 2 pieces of scotch tape to hold the elevator in place! This blew my mind that they felt that was adaquite enough
@@frankflyrcit may pop out by design to release the energy of the impact so it doesn't go into shearing the elevator or bracket. It's probably not a bad idea though

@@jwthomas73 Good point. I can see that. But yeah, I like the screw securing the two elevator halves.
