Oprah and Trevor continue to empower people to be their best self!!! May God bless everyone here!
🙏 Trauma in poverty! I know from experience that even when you stop the cycle of poverty through education etc, it can still foster traumatization.
You just have to move with a force to be valued or recognized. On the other hand, don't let other people validate your progress because some people will not be genuinely be happy for your success or progress.
For me! I did my best and became a light for others even when it wasn't reciprocated.
I am still not where I need to be but I prefer to work honestly than to hurt / abuse others to get to the top or be in prison! God has been my tower of strength!
Therefore, Oprah and Trevor as we aim to know our path it's part of a greater movement to strive for excellence without becoming callous during or after the process.
We can be better, we can do better, we must be better and never give up!
    P.S. Love always Alison!
    Good interview! 🤗
    May God bless you all!!

Oprah you should speak to Harry Aponte. A Family Therapist you works out of Philly and Drexel U. He wrote a book about the “new poor”, which discussed how poor people in the US have so many multi problems they are dealing with. As a trauma therapist this book taught me a lot but his ideas have a lot of synergy with your ideas. You would find him fascinating. A little like Malcolm Gladwell.

I broke the cycle - by not having children.I didn't want to perpetuate the violence anymore. Because the need to control and properly raise my children would be there, and I don't know how to do that without using physical punishment. Part of me feels like that's what's gone wrong with the younger generations, now. They didn't get a spanking when they needed it - look what happened? But, what would have worked instead? Because it's not working. And good lord, what is up with the helicopter and snowplow parents? 18 is adulthood. What happened?

If you can't help yourself who do you think you're going to help? At some point you do have to realize who wants to be helped and who just wants things given to them and when they don't get it, watch the mentality try to suck your energy away. I don't want another celebrity president if the _only_ reason is because they're a celebrity. However, if the person is a good leader and decision maker, i.e. someone who seeks informed input from actual experts, genuinely wants what's best for Americans, and makes the important decisions accordingly, then I'll seriously consider the person, regardless of whether they're a celebrity or not.
