I have a Audi 4000 quattro, the drive shaft in that looks almost the same, only it uses universals in the middle instead of a CV center, it's much easier to service than that one from the looks of it, Porsche dealer probably want's a grip for a new drive shaft lol....

Hi, may i ask did it came with that round flex join rubber thing on one end ? How did it went, working good so far ? Possible to replace by your own ? Thank you !

Goorood yes it came with that. When it’s not hard but not easy either. It’s best if the car is suspended and that the tires rotate easily. If you can’t do that you need at least a ramp to get the car up a bit. Taking it out is not hard but you may have to remove the exhaust system (front of the car section) to slide the shaft out. Also, very important you have a torque wrench to put the correct specs. So far no issues

When they go bad does it make a kind of "thumping" sound? I have VW and I thought it was coming from the front end but after two visits to the dealer they couldn't find ANYTHING wrong from the front suspension. I'm suspecting its this and the thumping is worst on bumpy city streets or on cobble stone roads.
