I actually really like this "switch" style interview. Besides being a fun gimmick, it actually really forces both of them to get to their points, and not beat around the bush. Honestly, quite ingenious. Kudos man.

He's a great marketer. However, he doesn't actually hold much decision making power for the company, that goes to Nintendo of Japan. That means his job is effectively to hype you up about Nintendo of Japan's decisions...an increasingly hard job, but one that I'm sure pays him well.

+Robert Wallen Definitely. I'm not sure how game presentations are usually conducted in Japan (there could be a regional aspect we're missing out on. Maybe they're not quite as sensational as they are in Europe and the US), but the Switch's was boring. They took a console I'm incredibly excited about and made it dull.
It was all the interviews, commercials, and gameplay shown after the presentation that got me hooked. Happy to say there will be a system waiting for me on March 3rd.

I gotta say, I been a PC gamer for a long time, last time I owned a console was the Wii and before that was the PS2. Switch is making me hungry to play console again and Xbox and Sony don't interest me because most of the games I like to play are on PC already. Zelda lookin tasty, too bad though I'm strapped for cash during the beginning of the year. It's really bringing back the magic of when I was 12 and saw Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time in Nintendo magazine.

What I really want for "Nintendo Switch" are "Bundles" of older games with updated graphics.
Examples: "Kingdom hearts 1.5+2.5+2.8 bundle", "No More Heroes 1+2 bundle", "Metroid Prime 1+2+3 bundle" and of course "Splatoon 1 Deluxe", Kingdom heart 3 and "Xenoblade 1 HD".
They're already coming out with Splatoon 2, there's no reason for a deluxe edition that no one would play because everyone would be on 2

Out of all the 3rd party games you could have said....you said monster hunter? Seriously... Its pretty much a given that we will get a monster hunter on the switch. Why not say something like Red Dead 2, Kingdom Hearts 3 or GTA? I know that its pretty much meaningless anyways... but its still an indication to Reggie of what consumers want.

I'm sure that people that make those game would be free to port it on the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo can't force a developper to do so unless they want to risk some backlash of trying to buy exclusives or something like that. It is really up to the publishers/developpers to say "yeah, I would like this game to work on the Switch"

SMoj Considering Nintendo is saying Switch and 3ds have two different audiences, it makes sense to ask about MH for Switch because they have refused to put it back on consoles for quite some time. The Wii U game was just an upscale version of the 3ds game, and both of those were just updated versions of the Wii game. After that, we only had handheld games. Which were fantastic, but MH fans have been wanting it back on consoles for years now. And you can't expect a rabid MH fan like Jared to say something else. You have your desires, he has his.

I like Reggie a lot... he embodies much of what Nintendo stands for, in my eyes. Seems like a genuinely fun dude. Great interview, very entertaining :D
He put Jared on the spot with that "worst thing you've said about us" question. I actually don't think Metroid Other M was a waste of time, though. It certainly didn't live up to the pedigree of Metroid games past, but it had some fun gameplay, IMO.

The switch audio jack supports microphone input. Plus headsets are available to purchase that say "plug into the system." I am almost certain Nintendo won't limit voice chat to just the phone app.

After talking about how Jared didn't like Other M and Phantom Hourglass, Reggie says (as they switch) that "It's a good thing the Switch happened then" almost like the Switch will have a Metroid that will live up to the expectations. This combined with the Game Spot interview makes me think we'll most definitely get a Metroid game by mid 2018.
Nah he just said "it's a good time the switch happened then" as in " good thing i didn't have time to get angry with you, because it's your turn to speak". He was talking about the switch in the interview not the Switch as a console.
