I love my Nintendo switch. Tried to save up for a ps4 pro and decided on the switch because I had to do chemotherapy for 5 months. Glad I got the switch In June 2018. Got me through boring sleepless nights in the hospital and can play it at home, on the plane, etc . Connect it to a tv easily. I love this machine. Mario odyssey is super fun.

+Gungho73 The port on the switch is USB C but the connector on the other end is a standard 3.0 connector. That way you can plug it in to pretty much anything.

You see even if the camera is recording at 30fps it can still see 60fps screens. I noticed that for example on E3, people try out games for themselves and people are filming the TV-screens. and you can see that the gameplay is 60fps, because the camera can see it and looks very smooth. I don't know if this made any sense, but.....yeah :)
if the video is 30 fps. it can't tell the difference between a steady 30 fps with no drops and a higher frame rate. obviously if it drops below 30 it can pick it up but otherwise it can't unless the timing of game play changes which it will if there is no frame skipping. which frameskipping in itself can make a game look slightly choppy.
go check Digital Foundrys vids when they do games tht both had 30fps (previously or switchable) to 60fps and they do side by side comparisons of it. U can clearly tell the diff. on a 30fps vid. It just takes a little bit of training of watching those kind of vids (this vid we're on right now) to notice.
+Blueblur64 the port makes it run slightly smoother due to it also being a cooling station But the difference is minimal. Nintendo just shoved a next gen console into a tablet
The main catch would be battery life, but considering reports came out about charging cables being (Blueblur might be able to help me here) 3.1 USB-C it means it would charge rather quickly. The dock itself is a charger and might add to ventilation but ultimately the guts are in the handheld you saw itself. It'll clock itself to normal docked with added air cooling and the power source not being a concern and underclock when in handheld mode for battery. that being said, even underclocked it looked fine. Wish we had a higher resolution screen other then a projector background...but that's only real gripe I had.

The 3DS has the best catalog for a video game console right now. It's being supported for years and it's not going down. I can tell you that the 3DS it's still worth it's money.
I showed the trailer of this console to my friends, I was advertising it and the results was them calling it gay cause it's made from Nintendo and not PlayStation. Wtf, they wouldn't want a PS4 like console on the road or anywhere they can play NBA??? I don't get gamers these days. They are so picky. Most of them ride PlayStation and don't want to experience something new and different.
The commercial featured a 5 year old game so what did you expect? They spent more time on skyrim than any other title and people don't spend money on new systems to play old games.

I wanted a switch since it's launch but couldn't afford it. On my 18th birthday in late 2018 I finally got a nintendo switch smash bros bundle, but on October 2019 i accidentally left my switch on the public bus because I am a special ed student but last month after trying for months to find an official retail nintendo switch (I didn't want to buy from people selling for anything above the original $300 pricetag) I was finally able to get a new nintendo switch alongside a copy of super mario 3d all-stars and since I original had a NSO subscription I didn't lose any of my data (exception for splatoon 2 so I lost probably 12+ Hours of save data including the splatfest exclusive items) but I can get used to a new start because I'm just happy I can finally play my old switch games again.

you can't tell the framerate from the 30fps video, and it did however look like it had a slight hickup when they where panning while showing it on the big screen.
TheGoreforce it's not gonna be perfect but for the most part it's actually really impressive, much more smoother than the Wii U version, making this superior

I'm pretty sure they have been slowly marketing it since they announced the NX's development in 2015. It almost feels like they have even been purposefully providing small leaks because the viral marketing took off on its own.

Djean Buie Yes. I was hoping that it would be obvious what I was implying. I know a lot of people who still think the Wii U is just a controller for the Wii. This was solely the fault of bad marketing and the name.
It is unreal how fuckin seamless that was, literally just picked it up, no effort at all and within a second, the system switched video output, changed to battery powered, and ran 100% smooth. I'm super excited for Nintendo, I think the switch is gonna be big, maybe not Wii big, but it'll be a major contender I think.
Don't fret....I'm 46, and I can't wait for it either. I bought my first Nintendo 8-Bit Entertainment System in 1986 when I was 16, and I still have it....works great. I even have the original Punch-Out with Mike Tyson, and yes, I beat him. ;-)

Well another reason is the corporate reason. He works for NBC, and NBC owns universal, and universal and Nintendo is working on an attraction at Universal parks. So now it all makes sense Nintendo would go to Jimmy first before anywhere else.
PC and Nintendo are in my opinion the companies with the best exclusive game, the only other game that buys me which is not on Nintendo and PC is The Last of Us Series.
Why not? I was a console gamer all my life, but slowly started warming up to PC, when my house got broken into and my stuff all stolen a few years ago. I had to rebuild and the one place I still had games was the few I had on PC. So I built a PC and never went back to consoles, never saw the need, besides a few exclusives, didn't feel like I was missing much. But this Nintendo Switch, looks amazing and combines Nintendo's home and handheld markets. You add in some 3rd party support hopefully this time and you have an amazing gaming machine that will go well along side my PC.
After 10 years in Los Angeles radio myself, I love Jimmy's energy, especially unbridled. I think its his energy that makes him unique and likable. He works hard to remain authentic, even in moments with stiff guests, and I think he is really the type of broadcaster I wanted to develop into. Even being a teacher now, I see him having fun in live broadcasts and it makes me appreciate it all the more.

Magic Elephant This is just a rumor so take it with a grain of salt, but supposedly they'll be making Pokemon Stars (the third version of Sun and Moon) for the Switch. But again, this hasn't been confirmed so I wouldn't get your hopes up too high just yet.

A few Devs have stated now that the switch is on par with Xbox one. That's good enough for a handheld console hybrid.for Devs like Bethesda to be putting out games for it it has to have some power behind it. I can't wait for this console,don't get me wrong I've got both ps4 and Xbox one and they are great. But for me nothing beats Nintendo games, anybody that doesn't get to play mariokart 8 or 3D world is losing out both games are just pure magic.

I never got around to them on either the NES or the Snes in the 80s and 90s. so by the time PS1-2 and Xbox came out, I had so many other games to contend with that I had no reference of where to start ... And now - the early Zelda games aren't attractive to me but this new one looks damn good.

The main catch would be battery life, but considering reports came out about charging cables being (Blueblur might be able to help me here) 3.1 USB-C it means it would charge rather quickly. The dock itself is a charger and might add to ventilation but ultimately the guts are in the handheld you saw itself. It'll clock itself to normal docked with added air cooling and the power source not being a concern and underclock when in handheld mode for battery. that being said, even underclocked it looked fine. Wish we had a higher resolution screen other then a projector background...but that's only real gripe I had.

I wanted a switch since it's launch but couldn't afford it. On my 18th birthday in late 2018 I finally got a nintendo switch smash bros bundle, but on October 2019 i accidentally left my switch on the public bus because I am a special ed student but last month after trying for months to find an official retail nintendo switch (I didn't want to buy from people selling for anything above the original $300 pricetag) I was finally able to get a new nintendo switch alongside a copy of super mario 3d all-stars and since I original had a NSO subscription I didn't lose any of my data (exception for splatoon 2 so I lost probably 12+ Hours of save data including the splatfest exclusive items) but I can get used to a new start because I'm just happy I can finally play my old switch games again.

It is unreal how fuckin seamless that was, literally just picked it up, no effort at all and within a second, the system switched video output, changed to battery powered, and ran 100% smooth. Why not? I was a console gamer all my life, but slowly started warming up to PC, when my house got broken into and my stuff all stolen a few years ago. I had to rebuild and the one place I still had games was the few I had on PC. So I built a PC and never went back to consoles, never saw the need, besides a few exclusives, didn't feel like I was missing much.
But this Nintendo Switch, looks amazing and combines Nintendo's home and handheld markets. You add in some 3rd party support hopefully this time and you have an amazing gaming machine that will go well along side my PC.

After 10 years in Los Angeles radio myself, I love Jimmy's energy, especially unbridled. I think its his energy that makes him unique and likable. He works hard to remain authentic, even in moments with stiff guests, and I think he is really the type of broadcaster I wanted to develop into. Even being a teacher now, I see him having fun in live broadcasts and it makes me appreciate it all the more.

when reggie lifts up the screen, it transitions after roughly 0.75 seconds after being disconnected, turning on the screen and using a sort of "pop-up" or "zoom" effect on the game.
Immediately after this effect, the game is frozen for a couple of frames while a system menu (visible at 7:47) kind of like the wii's pause menu, appears, and reggie presses the - button on the left joycon to minimize it (you can hear the click sound too).
The game resumes, and plays at over 30 fps at a presumed 1080p on the matt switch screen.

@@msanchez1680dthey are going to reveal it in this fiscal year and then in 2025 January just like the Nintendo Switch they will have a presentation for the new console
@outrightflame4280 I highly doubt it will be revealed this year. Also, the fiscal year in Japan starts on April 1st and ends on March 31st. So by now it's obvious that the Switch successor will be revealed in early 2025.

A few Devs have stated now that the switch is on par with Xbox one. That's good enough for a handheld console hybrid.for Devs like Bethesda to be putting out games for it it has to have some power behind it. I can't wait for this console,don't get me wrong I've got both ps4 and Xbox one and they are great. But for me nothing beats Nintendo games, anybody that doesn't get to play mariokart 8 or 3D world is losing out both games are just pure magic.

Jose Rivera I know - it's pretty sad. I never got around to them on either the NES or the Snes in the 80s and 90s. so by the time PS1-2 and Xbox came out, I had so many other games to contend with that I had no reference of where to start ...
And now - the early Zelda games aren't attractive to me but this new one looks damn good.
White Noise understandable. i love the new games with the graphics and all but im still attracted to super nes games. the legend of zelda:a link to the past is to me the best game ever its what got me liking zelda.

I'm highly doubting it will win, but I think it will get Nintendo back in the mainstream picture. They can use the console generation after that to capitalize on that momentum though.
