I’ve been binge watching you , on and off, today. Oh, how I envy you! I would love to be able to live in the native country which my parents had such a strong connection and love for even though their parents came from France via Quebec. I was raised with such a true respect and love for my French heritage. So sad my ancestors left France under the rule of Louis the XIV. My six times great grandfather was sent by the king to assist in establishing”New France”. His name was Michel and he was very well educated for the time : He left France , about 1716, and settled along the St. Lawrence River. He was the town judge, among many other things, during this time. One other ancestor was a Filles du Rois or king’s daughter. You probably have heard of the kings daughters. She , also, left France to settle in Quebec. I have researched and found so much information concerning my French ancestors. I am so happy I have found your channel. Please do keep the videos coming!
Fascinating! I just read the Wikipedia article on the filles du roi. City girls for the most part. You would think they’d have been selected from rural populations where they would know how to run a farm. Though an urbanité would indeed have been better suited to the duties of an administrator like your great great...... grandfather. She must have been very pretty. They said the prettiest girls settled in Quebec! You’ll have to come over and do some research! You may be related to Madonna or Angelina Joly!
Thank you for your lovely video! You asked about the green berries, which are Hypericum, available in soft white, peach, various shades of red and green. From a floral designer in Estes Park, Colorado… USA.
What a pleasure to see these individual flowers being put together in one delicate set. A sort of allegory on what human relations ought to be. Thanks again also for this poetical stroll in your beautiful Paris. I can’t wait to fly out there again!
What I lovely video! I miss Paris so walking around the city with you brings me so much joy. The arrangement was absolutely beautiful and I love your apartment as well. P.S. Your ring is gorgeous!
Thank you so much Richette, I’m glad it brought memories! I admit I’m pretty happy with the arrangement. I’ve only discovered recently how easy they are to do and I want to encourage everyone now to make their own 🤗
A lovely arrangement! I enjoy fresh flowers and treat myself now and then. I just planted herbs and lavender. My lavender did not make it through the winter this year. Happy Easter!!
Hi Leslie, I’ve only recently discovered how fun and easy it is to your own arrangements. I’m thinking about planting lavender too this year, on my balcony, to replace the boxwood balls that died when we were away all summer escaping Covid gloom. Hmmm, maybe we should try lavender arrangements 🤔
I enjoyed your guided tour to the wonderful florist. The plants and flowers were amazing and I liked the moss plant containers at the first shop. You did a great job on the arrangement the green berry’s really added to it. The other day we had a Koala come in our tree just out the back and I thought of you and even took a video. Blessings and Happy Easter to you x🐇💐
@@VelvetandToads so glad.....yes she is a gentle little girl. Sorry the videos aren’t that great but when we heard the noise we ran out...then he stopped and went to sleep....very high up and you can just see a dark ball shape.
Thank you so much for this amazing video! To see the streets of Paris and the lovely flower shops just made my heart sing! I love the arrangement that you made. Happy Easter! Mayfield Manor
Another gorgeous and stunning video:). Do you watch as they arrange the flowers or is it already arrangement. I figured since it is Paris, they do things differently haha. Gorgeous flowers:)
I did the arrangement, at the end of the video after selecting the flowers. But French florists will do simple hand tied arrangements if you ask, and they do have some pre-made 🙂💐
@@VelvetandToads Ahh got it. Beautiful arrangement and please keep the videos coming. I love that it is different from all these chateau videos. I am " chateau'd out" at this point. Please have a good weekend:)
@@GuilfordGardenCT Thank you! 🙏🏻 My complex over not having a chateau to show has been growing faster than my channel, so I appreciate the encouragement 🤣
@@VelvetandToads Aww, you are welcome. Please take solace in the fact that you a different from all of them and show a different side of Paris. I am actually getting tired of watching the chateaus as some seem so contrived and pretentious. Keep going❤️
@@VelvetandToads I am a florist in the US and will be coming to visit Paris next month for the first time. I was scoping out the French flower culture before my visit to glean any insight. Thanks for your channel. Let me know if there are any fun flower events July 25-26 that I shouldn't miss! Merci.
Darn! You just missed one in the Tuileries. I don’t know of actual events, but you might see if you can tour the flower pavillon at the Rungis market, the largest wholesale food market in France, outside Paris. Not sure how you’d go about it 🤔. Were I in town then I’d go along!
💐 Happy Easter everyone! 💐

PS I love the moss covered pots too, someone gave me one last year, right before Covid. It was the first I’d seen. They seem to be catching on!
