Good video. Try the Airpods Max :) - while they don't quite match high end phones like the Sennheiser HD600 at optimal volumes for well mixed music, but they sound fantastic in any environment. They are tuned to favour enjoyment over accuracy at every volume level and you can tell how the mixing changes as you change the volume, they remain super full and immersive even at extremely low volumes, which is awesome and quite a unique experience. I also have the Airpods Pro2 (for lightweight travel), Airpods 3 (for exercise) and my Sennies (reference sound). I had the Sony XM4, Bose 700, Jaybird X1 and a few other highend-ish headphones and while they trade blows with Apple, none of them were as well rounded and enjoyable. Yeh, let's be honest, the Raycon are trash 🙈
I always keep my eyes peeled for deals on the Airpods Max because they look insane, but I never liked the fact they weren't usb-c. Looks like they are finally coming out soon (Sept 20?). Those are great points you make about it... would you still recommend it even for Android users though? Sadly I never made the complete switch over to the Apple ecosystem. Haha and yeah, you've got some good experience too with a variety of headphones from over the years. I just... I have kids, and teenage nephews, and I'm not convinced they would benefit from the highest quality ones. When it comes time to buy my own kiddos buds etc, I want to keep their expectations low so that something like Raycons or whatever is more affordable still makes them happy you know? But for guys like you and me... yeah you aren't wrong ;) 👊
@@TheSAHDLife I've never used them outside of the Apple ecosystem so I'm not sure, but the controls are similar to the Pro 2 in terms of head tracking, transparency mode, etc (transparency mode is dramatically better though, it's like you're not wearing anything) - so if your Pro 2 work on Android, these should have a similar experience. Oh yeh, it would suck for someone less gentle with tech to ruin a pair of $500 headphones!
Yeah the AirPods have a lot going on right? I'll be curious to see what the next gen ones are like. I've got some Soundpeats coming, I'm curious to hear how good they are.
Thanks for watching!
