When Jess said that she missed fluffer-nutter sandwiches, and Sohla stopped everything to make some for everyone... That really touched me, for some reason. So wholesome.

Sohla is, I think, a genuinely happy person, who is happiest when she can bring joy to others. She certainly brightened my day with this masterpiece.
I've never had flutter nutter sandwiches, but I can imagine melted marshmellows, crunchy peanut butter, and a pinch of salt sounds so delicious. Kind of like a s'more, cause I've never had one of them either. I wish I could afford the ingredients to make both.

even sadder: activated charcoal can deactivate or interfere with certain long-term medications, including antidepressants and hormonal birth control. if you're on antidepressants, it might literally make you sadder. (if you want to make food black without the side effects of activated charcoal, squid ink works too)

Babish's greatest achievement is bringing these people together.
Bon Appétit, it was the youtube cooking channel (I liked their content) Sohla was on before this. A higher up there made some bad choices and there were some institutional issues with sexism/racism. she fought for change and got sidelined(or decided to leave depending on source, I’m guessing a mix of both). Bad situation all around-they had some enjoyable stuff.

It affects everyone differently. Both my husband & I had it back in June & neither one of us are weak or short of breath. But some people I know are pretty slow to recovery. It looks like she's recovered very nicely but it could be a remaining "gift" from covid. The real kicker is that no one really knows how this thing will affect anyone !
