The fact that Priya and Seth’s first date was this picturesque first date and Sohla and Hams was walking through a cemetery was perfect 😂😂😂😂like I expect nothing else both are great dates
I love this holiday tradition because there are no winners or losers. Just two VERY different approaches to the same set of instructions. AND this year we get the added bonus of personal questions about their relationships sprinkled in!
This gives me old Bon Appetit Test Kitchen vibes with the maturity of a NYT-style documentary, which I LOVE! I'd look forward to an annual Priya and Seth vs. Sohla and Ham competition.
I remember watching this last year. Seth’s dedication to create the FallingWater residence was breath taking. My heart hurt when the structure was not completed. I am so glad that this gingerbread building challenge is back! Thanks everyone who made this possible!
Nah it's good they balance each other out. Source I'm type A married to a type b. You need the it's OK it didn't work out let me distract you with a plan b type person for every type A or they're still trying to get the first step done perfectly and nothing ever happens.
one of the very best things about this video is seeing the behind the scenes work that goes on, like seeing how the "interviews" are in the same room, or shots of camera people in the background. gives it a more homey feel rather than just manufactured
Just like last year, we get each couple making gingerbread houses that are polar opposites so that everyone wins. They're both so perfect at their respective goals. Priya and Seth had the best structure, while Sohla and Ham had the most inspired theme. Best combination of elements of the creation? Priya and Seth. Best off-script meal? Sohla and Ham. Best diorama telling a legendary story? Priya and Seth. Most extravagant pyrotechnics show? Sohla and Ham. Best snowman? Priya. Most resourceful use of beer cans? Sohla. Most wonderfully overzealous ambition? Seth. Best take on a fast food combo? Ham. Best gingerbread house? The judges are completely tied. Most adorable couple? Again, a dead tie.
That might be putting too much pressure on them, I think it’s better when this is kept fun and light. And as long as it’s fun then why not keep it going? Maybe you could personally add a family gingerbread competition to your traditions? My family has before and it’s a blast.
@@PaigeWeso You're definitely right, they've all been pretty busy for at least the past 2 years... guess I'll just loop these 2 videos until the next one comes out XD plus a family gingerbread competition sounds fun! Merry (sweet, spicy, and tasty) Christmas :D
The Brief: Gingerbread House Showdown Ham and Sohla: Amazing savoury meal, with a fun gingerbread house on the side Seth and Priya: Every sweet baked dough except gingerbread
@@cherrymate20lite24 I agree entirely. The whole time I'm thinking - does Seth have a single gay brother who just happens to live across the street from me? :P
So glad they did another one of these! Just an fyi also about pretzels, you don't need to boil them if you're using lye, you can just dip them or brush them with a lye solution so you don't have to worry as much about wrecking the shapes
this needs to be a yearly tradition! I really want to see that Home Alone house next year kids! Put Priya and Seth in charge of the structure and Sohla and Ham in charge of the interior
Please make this an annual tradition. It's just a splendid combination of all the good things. Thoughtful, silly, fun, relatable, imaginative, creative, kind, badass people doing cool things. I genuinely laughed out loud at so many moments, and also felt inspired. Cheers to all four of them! Excellent stuff! Looking forward to their combined forces for the Home Alone home next year!
Holy Moly! My jaw just slammed into the floor after seeing Priya and Seth's finished creation. I didn't think anyone could top last year's project, but this turned out amazing.
Sohla and Ham made, if I remember correctly, a savory house. Again, they are keeping with tradition, lol! Seth is incredible with the architecture experience and his patience! Priya is just amazing! She doesn’t loose her cool and is one of my favorite chefs… actually all four are my favorite chefs ❤️
I'll never get over that one of the first introductions to Seth on the channel was Priya's fridge organization video and Seth's milk habit. "How much milk do you drink?!" "That's not important."
I don't feel so bad that four professional bakers/cooks can run into as many problems as I do, but I will say... If you want to make gingerbread houses watch Erin Jean McDowell.
I really enjoy these two couples and this setup and I hope it keeps happening annually, but I'm totally with you on EJM and gingerbread. I love her soft gingerbread cookies and her whole approach to holiday gingerbread house fun!
I'm barely 2/3 in. Priya is overcome with mad laughter over a melting snow man, Seth somehow conjured a ship made of burnt waffles, Sohla is hoping for death, and Ham is hiding beer in the gingerbread house. Every bit of this is amazing.
Did Seth and Priya choose to make a boat because if Seth had to make a gingerbread building he would end up trying to recreate something like the Eiffel Tower due to sheer competitiveness?
priya and seth are so cute. they are like perfect example of a control freak person with a super chill supportive partner. they balance each other well.
These are two power couples, love them! And I love that this is becoming a Christmas tradition. You couldn't choose a better idea or better people. Keep up the good work guys 💪

So glad to see them back again this year! Wish we got more money shots of the final builds though! I liked seeing closeups of all the individual elements.
This is one of my new favorite holiday traditions. The couples are so wonderfully matched and a joy to watch as they work together. And even though things didn’t turn out exactly as planned, there was nothing but support all around. And who knew Modelos could be so handy…
The comedic effect of ham saying "we're not architects" and then the scene moves into seth explaining their base structure
Major props to the editor for this entire video. It's an editing masterpiece
@@michaelacheong They know what theyre doing
Cuz Seth is literally an architect.
I love how Sohla and Ham just basically decided to feed the crew amazing food with a gingerbread house on the side.
