Hi Dave, is there any alternatives to this pen that have also “true” flex nibs in the price range 300€ or less? I have Pilot 742 with FA nib and I like it, but would like to test more softer nib
You could always look for a vintage flex nib pen. Anything under 300€ is difficult, there's a Noodlers Flex nib but typically they can be a bit more problematic in getting to write, or you could go up slightly to an 823 FA nib which is better than the 742 FA nib.
@@PenultimateDave Sorry, actually I have 743, not 742. So the nibs must be the same as 823, both Nr. 15. To find one vintage pen in good condition is also difficult 😞. Maybe I will make a birthday gift for myself in September and get a MAG 600, 350€ wouldn’t hurt so much 😄
@@e.meisner3824 I recommend the FPR steel flex nibs. Very comparable in initial quality, and gives excellent flow. The steel is not as soft, but more snappy. I would avoid their 14K nibs, which are too soft, and burpy. Good luck :)
I'll tell you now these nibs are amazing... I have the Mag 650 in stacked amber resin from Goldspot pens. It drinks A LOT of ink, but the nib is awesome!! I have a lot of pens and this is up there in the top 5 to top 10 for sure.
@williamcatalano1762 the amber stacked resin is one I would really like to get my hands on, although I'm trying to tell myself I don't need 3x flex nibs.
Love the design of that pen … thanks for doing videos
Thank you for this review.
