You might of made my decision on getting the fossil gen 5 watch. The biggest complaint I saw was the battery life. Why I was leaning abit to the Honor Magic Watch 2. But seeing as these tips you mentioned gets you about 2 or more days...I might have to go with it. Most of the features you disabled are ones I dont care for or will use on my watch...as I will have my phone with me as well for things like those. The only thing wish you did was like a real world test video with the settings you did in the video. Nonetheless....thank you very much!

Can notifications be adjusted in the Wear OS app, or only through Android's notifications settings? I'm using Pebble, can adjust app notifications on that old watch in the Pebble app.

Its good for cardio activities like bike, run, jog but terrible for strength training as it does not auto detect moves and entire workout. More so if gps is on the battery drains fast. My fav for exercise tracking is Galaxy watch,huawei GT 2, apple watch. So theme of the video is to turn off all smart features and turn it into a dumb watch. Why not buy a normal watch? You will never need to recharge. Good video otherwise, I am just critical of inefficient Wear OS.

You are Bluetooth versions are low energy so I guess it wouldn't make a significant difference in terms of battery consumption which Bluetooth vs Wi-Fi. I have a Fossil gen 5 Julianna HR watch and the problem is that when I try to access Google or TH-cam from the Samsung Internet browser, it won't let me navigate.

In terms of calling I will select active 2 as it has bettery battery lkfe when talking from the phone plus when you pair it with samsung phone you get whole home connectivity over wifi so even if you left phone in basement you still get notification. I do not know what the watch icon does. I mean the watch icon you can find when you swipe down from the main screen. Does anyone know what that icon does, because when i press mine, the watch goes blank and returns to the main screen?

That watch icon is to turn off the screen and to turn the screen back on you have to press the rotating crown button which will take you back to home screen. @@vidstube not overheated and I take it off when it gets to 100%. I've uninstalled 3rd party apps like Nick and Cardiogram like you advised. Was hoping it could last more than one day.
Hmm I think then its just the battery I have been using my gen 5 since the day it was announced and now for me the battery barely goes past a day & few hours. I suggest doing charge cycles helps battery health like full charge and full discharge and not leaving the watch on charger for whole night.
Lmao but why would you disable always on display? It barely consumes power on the W3100 chip (since it is running on a coprocessor) as well as the fact that an always on display is a basic watch feature (unless you use tilt to wake, however, it does drain a lot more battery than AOD since it constantly spins up the main processor)

You might of made my decision on getting the fossil gen 5 watch. The biggest complaint I saw was the battery life. Why I was leaning abit to the Honor Magic Watch 2. But seeing as these tips you mentioned gets you about 2 or more days...I might have to go with it. Most of the features you disabled are ones I dont care for or will use on my watch...as I will have my phone with me as well for things like those. The only thing wish you did was like a real world test video with the settings you did in the video. Nonetheless....thank you very much!

Can notifications be adjusted in the Wear OS app, or only through Android's notifications settings?

Its good for cardio activities like bike, run, jog but terrible for strength training as it does not auto detect moves and entire workout. More so if gps is on the battery drains fast. My fav for exercise tracking is Galaxy watch,huawei GT 2, apple watch. So theme of the video is to turn off all smart features and turn it into a dumb watch. Why not buy a normal watch? You will never need to recharge. Good video otherwise, I am just critical of inefficient Wear OS.

You are Bluetooth versions are low energy so I guess it wouldn't make a significant difference in terms of battery consumption which Bluetooth vs Wi-Fi. I have a Fossil gen 5 Julianna HR watch and the problem is that when I try to access Google or TH-cam from the Samsung Internet browser, it won't let me navigate.

In terms of calling I will select active 2 as it has bettery battery lkfe when talking from the phone plus when you pair it with samsung phone you get whole home connectivity over wifi so even if you left phone in basement you still get notification. I do not know what the watch icon does. I mean the watch icon you can find when you swipe down from the main screen. Does anyone know what that icon does, because when i press mine, the watch goes blank and returns to the main screen?

That watch icon is to turn off the screen and to turn the screen back on you have to press the rotating crown button which will take you back to home screen. Hmm 🤔 Is your watch over heated when you charge it to full? Als you can try a reset as some third party apps are battery drainer.
@@vidstube not overheated and I take it off when it gets to 100%. I've uninstalled 3rd party apps like Nick and Cardiogram like you advised. Was hoping it could last more than one day.
Hmm I think then its just the battery I have been using my gen 5 since the day it was announced and now for me the battery barely goes past a day & few hours. I suggest doing charge cycles helps battery health like full charge and full discharge and not leaving the watch on charger for whole night.
Lmao but why would you disable always on display? It barely consumes power on the W3100 chip (since it is running on a coprocessor) as well as the fact that an always on display is a basic watch feature (unless you use tilt to wake, however, it does drain a lot more battery than AOD since it constantly spins up the main processor)

I completely don't care about this "health monitoring" options. I wish there would be ONE place to turn off all this options. Also, why GPS on the watch if you have your phone on you...
