Great detailed review of the Gen 5. You showed me some tricks that also apply to my current LG Sport Watch. I'm considering a Gen 5 to replace it, mostly because of the increased memory and improved processor, along with a slimmer body, and better options for the straps. I had read in another review, that battery replacement is impossible, and once it's out of warranty, the watch is just disposable, in case of battery failure. UPDATE: Subsequently, Fossil support replied to my query, that they can replace batteries on any of their Fossil smartwatches, so that is apparently not an issue. The other review was apparently incorrect.
So I went back to the Fossil shop yesterday and upon examining the watch they told me that the reason this has happened is because if you leave the watch on charge over night the watch becomes to hot and causes it to swell up inside then loosens up the case back cover so not impressed as the watch cost me £269 .THEY TOLD ME NOT TO LEAVE IT ON CHARGE FOR MORE THAN ONE HOUR ! So really the charging circuit has floor in as that it should cut out once the battery has been fully charged or supply a dedicated charger that has current limit cut switch built in to avoid OVER CHARGING . They have given me a replacement watch but im going to sell it im not happy with it at all as i've had several smart watches before and never had this problem
That's absurd. I had the same problem with my 4. I would put my watch on the charger at night when I went to sleep. An hour at times would not enough time for a full charge if the battery was drained. If they went to wireless charge, it may alleviate this issue. I switched to Samsung. I used to love Fossil. 😒
To add to this, I purchased this watch because I want to use it to track my runs without having to carry my phone. I had some problems with this watch. When turning on Google fit to get a GPS signal (without phone).. it can take up to 15 minutes while outside to get a connection. and if i'm inside I had it on for an hour and still no connection was made. I took the watch back to the store who happily changed it for another, however I experienced the exact same problem with excessively long wait times to connect to GPS. So I've had times where I was standing at my start point in the freezing cold wind, waiting for GPS to connect. Another problem I encountered is that the running pace appears to be incorrect. Both at times during the run and after the run is completed. At the end of my run, I pause the workout, but i'm too exhausted to go through the app and 'end' the session for another minute or so. And I believe it includes that time in the overall pace that is measured, making it seem like you ran a lot slower than you actually did. Another problem I had during the running is, like Mike stated in the video, the watch takes a moment to light up after lifting your wrist, which is rather frustrating when you're running to your fullest and you just want to quickly check your time and pace. There is an 'always on' feature on the watch, but there is no 'ALWAYS on' feature to keep it going no matter what. I asked at the store but they said, to save battery, fossil doesn't let you set the watch to display constantly. which is a shame because I really only need the watch for about 30 minutes when I'm running. I considered returning the watch for a refund since the sole purpose of buying this $500 watch for me was to track my runs 2 - 3 times per week to obtain data and improve myself. (without having to carry my phone with me during the run). However I decided to hold on to it, simply because it is a very classy looking smart watch and all the other features appear to work well from what I've experienced so far. If you're a runner and you're considering buying this watch.. keep in mind the GPS can take excessively long to connect. If this is a problem for you, maybe you can look for an alternative option. Otherwise, the watch is a joy to own.
I know this is late, I am considering buying this watch, but I have heard that this issue has been resolved in a recent software update, has this been the case with you where the issue has been solved? Thanks.
@@omaralmitwally3475 Hi Omar. I still use this watch and no I don't feel as though these issues have been solved. I ordered my Carlyle in smoke stainless steel as soon as it was announced and released by Fossil. I have always been a fan of Fossil and was waiting for a smartwatch that ticks all the boxes. I think this one is a real winner and I'm very happy with it.
Thanks for watching, Tim! Like I said before, I love the way this watch looks. So far I am really happy with this watch too. I agree with you that this seems to be a real winner!
I will definitely buy this watch! My first watch was the Moto 360-the very first round smartwatch out there. Then I bought the Huawei Watch (1), which improved upon the Moto with a snappier CPU, a speaker (love to make phonecalls in my car, Knight Rider style, because no car kit) and OLED display. But over the years, the OLED has burned in and I'm missing NFC for payments. Just imagine when asked for a loyalty card, I show my watch with the barcode, but then I have to get out my phone for the NFC payment. Yeaaaah, First World problems 😁
Great review. However it seems like you were a bit picky when it comes to the tiles and apps. You have to keep in mind that this is, when it is all said and done...a watch and not a phone. So as far as apps there is only so much it can do. I would not want to be playing on my wrist anyway using a bunch of apps. But as far as smartwatches it is probably the best one out now; as far as all that it can do other than telling time. Thx for your review.
The November update has improve battery life tremendously. I don't use any of the battery management options but gets 7am to 11pm with 40-45% left. I used to get 65% remaining on my samsung frontier but can't complain as I charge it overnight.
It's good that the speaker is back. But battery still not good enough. And they still need to fix the screen so it goes all the way to the edge. Baby steps. A few more iterations and we may get there.
nice review. as of 11.May.2022 I just bought the model DW11F2 - it was a breeze to set up. Main reason was my 3rd fitbit charge 2 failed so I thought I'd try Android Wear and Fossil is one of my favourite brands. Trickiest part? adjusting the watch bracelet to fit!!! took minutes to set up with my Samsung S20+ Looking forward to test driving over the weekend. If I am still happy, I'll look to getting one of the new Google/Fitbit watches just launched.
It’s a good watch, the metal band versions are really high quality. The battery is going to feel like it drains quick the first week or so because of the constant fiddling and setting up but after the new car smell leaves it will do just fine. Turn off all non essential features and your off.
You helped me decide to keep my Samsung Galaxy watch 46. I don't see anything different except a downgrade to the battery. GW battery is 4 days at least with most of the features on. In addition GW supports wireless charging.
I'm excited to see what the Galaxy Active 2 has in store when it's released this fall. The standard wireless charging is definitely a big plus, especially when you have a phone with reverse wireless charging capabilities
I've had this watch for a few days and battery is fine. With the always on display active I finished the day with 45%. I only use it to glance at notifications, use Google pay and check the weather. To me that's pretty solid battery life and much better than the Gen 4.
I like my gen 3 but the battery live absolutely sucks, I would never use that watch when I’m traveling, there are enough days it doesn’t make it through a regular work day.
@@christianemden7637 really? My Gen 3 Fossil Q Explorist's battery life is fantastic. It typically ends the day with around 70% or 65% of battery life left or higher.
- Great review for Fossil Gen 5, i was looking for a new watch and found this one..saw your complete thorough review (made me actually pull out my card and purchase one).. thanks again, liked and subscribed for sure..
Mine is arriving tomorrow! I've been watching and waiting on a Nexus/Pixel watch for 5+ years. For non Apple users this part of the tech space just never seemed ready imo until now. 🤞🏽
Do you ever have a problem with pushing the middle function button when your wrist is bent? This was always a problem with my Gen 3 Explorist. Also, the new smoke steel band does not provide the same cover up to the face of the watch and you can see the band release nobs while on the wrist. I called Fossil and the only option is to pay $40 and buy it through the spare parts number. I really liked the look of the old style band.
Got mine a few days ago and while the watch feels great and smooth, the speaker seems to make some crackling sound. Not sure if I received the bad apple of the bunch but I'm most certainly will return it back to Fossil and swap out with a new one. Otherwise it's a good watch though the battery is still 12-20 hour use only. I just got spoiled with Samsung watches with their respectable battery life.
Does the watch need to be paired to a phone to use Google Assistant on the watch? Or, can you simply connect to a wifi network if you have access to it without using your phone?
excellent review, I have had seven Fossil Smart watches, and I am compelled to say that in comparison to the Apple Watch, and the Movado, I own those as well, the Fossil, in my view, is equal to, if not more competitive than the high-end watches just mentioned. That includes functionality and cost. I repeat you did an review. Oh! I might add that Fossil(website), and Amazon usually have seventy percent sales on the Fossil. A three hundred dollar watch can sell for as low as one hundred and seventy-nine dollars. That’s why I have so many. 15
Just amazing review, watched your reviews for moto 360, active2, ticwatch pro&pro3 etc. Whats the hardware on this watch? I am trying to chose between Fossil Gen 5 and TicWatch Pro 2020, could you help me decide? Two of my most important considerations is the battery life which is better with 2 displays on ticwatch and hardware (smooth functioning), as you mentioned the hardware is outdated on ticwatch, so need help to decide between these 2, thanks in advance.
How many days will the watch last if I use it only as a watch? That is all I do with my smatwatches except when I am out training, when I explicitly activate monitoring.
I purchased the watch to use with an I-phone. To work with the I-phone it had (2) blue-tooth connections on my phone. I could not keep both connections connected. I call support & they said that i could not close the app or i would have to reset the phone and delete & reload the app. It take a littles less than an hour to perform this task. I saw this as a problem i did not want to deal with so i sent it back. Other than that, i thought it was a nice watch!
I really wanted to like this watch. First, it is gorgeous (Juliene). However, I had nothing but trouble getting it to give notification vibration. First, I had to switch my Google + messaging to Pulse in hopes of making it work more smoothly. I still did not get notifications for texts or reminders. The speaker was good. The watch faces were nice. I will be returning do to notification difficulties. And yes, I restored factory settings, turned on and off, and turned off the ability to turn off notifications when watch was off wrist, as some said this function does not work. Use the watch before reviewing. Look up trouble with notifications and you will hear from others.
Thanks for the detailed review Mike - how what you sum up the battery life? I'm deciding whether to buy this now or wait until the google watch is released.
First, I'll say that I recommend turning off Always On Display and turning on tilt-to-wake. It saves a lot of battery power just by turning the screen off when I'm not even looking at it. To answer your question: I found that as long as you don't leave stupid things on like NFC and Always On Display, you can easily get 1.5-2 days per charge without limiting any common functions. I don't sleep with it on, so I just charge overnight. If you go to extended mode it can easily last longer. This batter is better than many other smart watches I've seen
@@MikeOBrienMedia I really wouldn't consider AOD as stupid, this is why I have the galaxy watch you can easily get 2 days with AOD on, I would love to come back to Wear OS but this is the main reason I wont
@@minus1db I've gotta disagree with Mike on this as well. I keep AoD enabled on my 5th gen, and tilt to wake off. TTW just crushes my battery, to the point where I cannot make it through one whole day with it on. I use mine to sleep track at night. Charge while I shower in the AM. Normally, device is put on charge around 630AM, off charge around 730-8am. I can get a full 24 hours use out of it, with the device being used a good bit. Weekly disc golf adventures, and using the watch to track them, walking, spin workouts in the AM etc. Could the battery be better? Absolutely. I honestly cannot tell the difference in the battery modes, they don't seem to effect my watch that much. I think that I get just as good of battery out of the daily mode as I do the extended mode, which makes absolutely no sense to me.
@@MikeOBrienMedia I don't think . Ticwatch Pro, Samsung Galaxy watch , amazfit stratos battery far better than this. Every night charge is not possible due to people always use mobile too. Mobile is portant than watch. So smart watch should run minimum 4 days.thats why this watch will not be famous.
Im still messing with mine a lot. But it has definitely been lasting me two days. Im used to having to charge the gen 4 a lot. But the gen 5 battery is sooo much better. I seriously recomend this watch.
Do the buttons ever have false clicks if your hand is bent upwards? Great video. Many thanks. I think this is my next watch in the new year. Subbed ;-).
I just wanted to say thank you! I was thinking about getting this watch, but I wear my watches on my right wrist. I would have never thought about the crown placement being a problem, but that would be really annoying. Now I'll just wait for the Galaxy Watch Active 2.
Did you find out how to download with spotify? Kind of a dealbreaker when you're at the gym without your phone and only use spotify for your music needs.
Id say this is definitely one of the best smart watches on the market. It's quite expensive but if you can dish out its got quality. Also fossil has sales going on regularly, take advantage of them!
How hard would it be to make a setting on the watch for right and left hand use? I mean what am I missing? Just set it to left hand use and turn the display over.
Great video Mike showing the true day to day performance of the watch. I am a spending idiot, and have six WearOS watches already with the Gen 3 and Gen 4 Fossil's already. I have to say though that as tempting as this Gen 5 is to buy, Fossil said they are releasing over a hundred styles in the next six months. Makes me think that they're gonna be updating their lines for Michael Kors, Diesel etc. That being said, if they only put a 3100 and stick with the low RAM of 512MB, that'll be a huge mistake.
Hi it doesn't actually have working gps without being tethered to a phone. Just incase people watch this and actually think you can go for a run using Google maps without your phone , you can't.
I hope future Smartwatches have built in voLTE like the amazfit verge 2 & ticwatch. For me, having vibrant display with excellent battery life and the ability to make & answer calls, plus compass, altimeter, barometer, HRM, several other sensors and also with swimmable IP certified is the ultimate Smartwatch.
Its functionality with different uses. Being able to see notifications without taking your phone out or having it on you, fitness things as well ass more portable music
Me personally I don't like taking my phone with me when I walk my 3 dogs but still want capability to contact someone if an accident happens. Also looking at getting one for when my daughter goes on field trips to Disney or Universal, she won't have to carry money on her, just pay via the watch.
I purchased a Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle, I found it had some annoying characteristics like I was unable to turn off my phone's alarm using the watch, something I never had an issue with using my Noto 360 Gen 2. But the most annoying thing is that nearly as soon as my watch ran out of warranty it became stuck in a reboot loop. On investigation, I found others with the same issue. I tried for months before giving up and buying a Ticwatch.
Just ordered this watch last night with Christmas gift cards lol, very excited to receive it, this review just reinforced that One thing I would've liked to see, when you called the clunky phone from both the watch and a phone, if you'd shown that the other way around, how it sounds on the watch users end for phone calls is kinda important
You’ve done the most thorough review to date - great job. It would be nice if Fossil would consider offering upgrades to those of us with the 4th Gen Fossil Sport. Battery life is so bad on my Fossil Sport....45 minute workout before going to the office means I have to charge the phone by noon or it won’t get my past 2pm. Also, the Speaker in the 5th gen is a great addition! I’ve grown tired of asking Google something and the screen on the Fossil Sport reads “check your phone” for the answer and not being able to make or receive calls from the watch. Thanks!
It's a refreshing change to see such a detailed no-nonsense review. Loved and watched your review on the TicWatch Pro 2020 and now the Fossil Gen 5 because both of these WearOS watches appeal to me at the moment but which to buy!?! Keep up the good work, Mike.
Left handers are used to dealing crap like poor ergonomics. I actually prefer the dials on the right because when I lift up my wrist they don't get accidently pressed by the back of my hand and I also find that uncomfortable. I do have different techniques for turning them depending on the situation. Thanks for mentioning it though. I can see possible issues if it's stiff turning but I saw you turn it with one finger earlier so it'll be fine for lefties.
Oops. I misunderstood your comment. I agree that there should be a setting for that. It seems like an easy firmware update if that setting doesn't exist. It does exist on the Galaxy Watch Active...
Very nice review. If someone is left handed, they would simply change the band orientation and the buttons & dials would be on the other side. Unless you are saying the phone doesn't have an option to switch the vertical orientation which would be a big over site by Android Wear & Fossil.
Thanks for the review, I am experiencing an issue with this. I had the watch connected to my phone via bluetooth, which was using mobile data. But I am not able to use Google assistant on the watch. (I have to connect to Wifi in my phone to use google assistant) It says something like, "Make sure your watch is connected to wifi or to your phone" . Can someone help? Should I get this replaced??
that was like the perfect review I found on the internet. I just would like to know a thing that is there any difference between using apple phone or an android phone.
So, I have the Gen 4 currently and my biggest gripe is the lack of accessibility. I have a severe vision impairment, so it's a little tough to use a watch that can't read to me. I understand why it wasn't included in the Gen 4 since it has no speaker, but what about the Gen 5? It looks very nice, but I need to know if there are more accessibility options; like Google Talkback for example. I would really appreciate it if somebody could look into this.
Does this count calories burned all through the day? The main reasons I want one is to calculate calories burned during a workout and also through the day, as well as steps and heart rate. Also, I see it is largely connected to google. Does it work well with iphone or do you need an app to support its functions?
I owned this same watch, in terms of the program it is beautiful and good touch and all its advantages over the others, but there is a problem which is the speed of(the charge discharge )
Nice review..i have a question..I am able to receive calls on this watch but when i try to call someone, google assistant understands the context but doesn't make a call. Is this because of no LTE? I was expecting that watch would inform phone and make the call.. please assist.
Thanks for all the info. So... does this watch do good for reminders? On my TicWatch Pro, if i set a reminder, i might get it on my watch and I might now. Who knows. TicWatch says it is Wear OS and Google seems to say it is the watch. I've not seen many reviewers report on this. Thx!
Thanks for a good review. How did you access the double-click feature of the 2 buttons? I didn't see that in the Customize menu...maybe I just missed it. My Gen3's battery finally died, so I got a refurbished 5, like yours, and I do like it, and appreciate all the improvements Fossil has made since v.3.(which I also liked, but the connectivity on this Gen5 seems much improved over v.3!) (to an iPhone.) As far as battery, I keep it on a custom setting that doesn't answer calls (though it allows me to accept them) and no NFC, no lift-to-wake (too slow, so i save battery there) (but I keep always-on ON, I like that!) - anyway I always last the day, even with whatever status the phone had when I bought it refurbished. (Probably a new battery? - they promised at least 80%.) I use FACER to have some fun with watch faces, and designed one of my own too; but honestly the FOSSIL ones are really great, once you customize them with the native editing options. The leather band develops an aroma that I could do without, which persists on my wrist when the phone is back on the charger. I'm experimenting with rubbing the rubber inside of the band down with witch hazel to see if that helps. Thanks again!
Please tell me which smartwatch to buy Armani exchange smartwatch or fossil gen 5 Both have same price But armani looks premium And fossil has good specs Please help me
Wait until after IFA in September. Fossil makes the Armani watch and there may be a new version announced at IFA (along with other brands that fossil makes watches for like Diesel, etc).
If I could get this watch $200 off the general retail here in Australia, should I get it over the new TicWatch Pro 3? Would really appreciate your opinion as my main concern is this watches battery life.

Update: I have bought the watch 😃😃😃
@@MarcKloos how do you like it?
@@moose4577 it's not good, he didn't get the notification about your reply to this TH-cam comment 👎
Exactly! There’s some picky techs I’m here! All I want to know is will it work well with my iPhone lol
@@MosleydollMUA An Apple watch will work well with your iPhone. Apple doesn't play nice with others.
Where u can carry the Fossil to check to see if it needs a new battery
Just bought this watch on Prime Day, hadn't seen this review yet, I'm reasonably more excited now that I've seen this!
How much?
I love the Samsung watches and I can't wait for the Galaxy Active 2 to come out
Definitely gonna buy one during Black Friday/ cyber Monday
Get me one too bro

The battery modes are just a compromise for bad battery life in general.
I've had this watch for a few days and battery is fine. With the always on display active I finished the day with 45%. I only use it to glance at notifications, use Google pay and check the weather.
To me that's pretty solid battery life and much better than the Gen 4.
@@wmurch3 hey are you have any physical issue with this watch as I heard it gets rust or it's back gets off( source subReddit-wearos(
I like my gen 3 but the battery live absolutely sucks, I would never use that watch when I’m traveling, there are enough days it doesn’t make it through a regular work day.
@@christianemden7637 really? My Gen 3 Fossil Q Explorist's battery life is fantastic. It typically ends the day with around 70% or 65% of battery life left or higher.
@@DeadmanInc336 yes same as mine 65 to 70% at the end of the day. Nothing sucks on the batteries
This guy is best in reviewing.. just watched only one video and subscribed.. he knows what to say instead of telling some unrelated shits ...
That means a lot to hear that. Thank you!!
I just got the Gen 5 for Christmas and liking it over my Tickwatch Pro I have had for 2 years. the 1gb of ram helps out and the design is great
- Great review for Fossil Gen 5, i was looking for a new watch and found this one..saw your complete thorough review (made me actually pull out my card and purchase one)..
thanks again, liked and subscribed for sure..
Thank you!! I am really glad you liked this review!
Good review, but please fix that focus problem in the future... quite annoying
Mine is arriving tomorrow! I've been watching and waiting on a Nexus/Pixel watch for 5+ years. For non Apple users this part of the tech space just never seemed ready imo until now. 🤞🏽
Really like this watch, the battery is fine for everyday use.
Excellent review. Great camera and audio quality, well spoken and well presented. Cheers!
This dude is a new gem to tech product review. Comprehensive and very fluent in speech. Keep the good work!
Thank you!! That really means a lot. Much appreciated!!
Just bought this smart watch. First one. Excellent tour sir.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy your new watch!!
Yes. I sometimes do accidentally summon Google assistant when I bend my wrist. I should have mentioned that in the video. That's a great point
I’ve switched from an Apple Watch to the Fossil gen 5 as it does everything I do plus it works with both the iPhoe and the Android.
Kerry Dawson this gen 5 fossil watch is it smooth no lags?? How about Apple Music does it run on this watch??
Got mine a few days ago and while the watch feels great and smooth, the speaker seems to make some crackling sound. Not sure if I received the bad apple of the bunch but I'm most certainly will return it back to Fossil and swap out with a new one. Otherwise it's a good watch though the battery is still 12-20 hour use only. I just got spoiled with Samsung watches with their respectable battery life.
Does the watch need to be paired to a phone to use Google Assistant on the watch? Or, can you simply connect to a wifi network if you have access to it without using your phone?
The one measurement that no one mention is the distance from lug tip to tip, that would be a vital info for small wristed people 😉🙂
excellent review, I have had seven Fossil Smart watches, and I am compelled to say that in comparison to the Apple Watch, and the Movado, I own those as well, the Fossil, in my view, is equal to, if not more competitive than the high-end watches just mentioned. That includes functionality and cost. I repeat you did an review. Oh! I might add that Fossil(website), and Amazon usually have seventy percent sales on the Fossil. A three hundred dollar watch can sell for as low as one hundred and seventy-nine dollars. That’s why I have so many.

You just sold me this watch 👍🏼 super detailed review. Sub’d
This watch is $139 on amazon right now. Worth it?
I'll be reviewing that when it comes out too! Thanks for watching!!
Did you find out how to download with spotify? Kind of a dealbreaker when you're at the gym without your phone and only use spotify for your music needs.
Wearify for Spotify is what you are looking for my friend. Download it on watch from playstore
Love your reviews! You can tell you're putting a lot of effort into it
Thank you, Anna. That means a lot!
Great review. Just me, I see zero use for a smart watch when my phone does everything I need.
Just ordered this watch last night with Christmas gift cards lol, very excited to receive it, this review just reinforced that
One thing I would've liked to see, when you called the clunky phone from both the watch and a phone, if you'd shown that the other way around, how it sounds on the watch users end for phone calls is kinda important
Excellent review! Can I sync my activities from watch to iPhone?
You’ve done the most thorough review to date - great job. It would be nice if Fossil would consider offering upgrades to those of us with the 4th Gen Fossil Sport. Battery life is so bad on my Fossil Sport....45 minute workout before going to the office means I have to charge the phone by noon or it won’t get my past 2pm. Also, the Speaker in the 5th gen is a great addition! I’ve grown tired of asking Google something and the screen on the Fossil Sport reads “check your phone” for the answer and not being able to make or receive calls from the watch. Thanks!
I think I am choosing this over the Samsung. Hope there is a decent golf app for it , so I will not need two watches on the course.
Great review, i'm considering changing my Amazfit GTR but the battery is a deal breaker for me. Does this track blood preassure?
Does the screen stay awake if not in use or do we have to raise to wake?
And if it stays wake how much is brightness? Is it fairly visible/bright?
You have the option to have it stay awake or awake with raise or touch screen. You can also choose to have it very dim or really bright.
15:03 This actually seems really simple to fix, you can't just change settings that flips the screen upside down?
Where is that setting? I never found it
@@MikeOBrienMedia Oh no, I was just confused why the watch doesn't have a setting like that. Sorry for the confusion.
Great review as usual thanks so much.
Thanks for the review, I am experiencing an issue with this.
I had the watch connected to my phone via bluetooth, which was using mobile data. But I am not able to use Google assistant on the watch. (I have to connect to Wifi in my phone to use google assistant) It says something like,
"Make sure your watch is connected to wifi or to your phone" . Can someone help? Should I get this replaced??
I found out that the problem was that I didn't have Bluetooth tethering on. Once I switched it on this issue is fixed.
Is there not a left handed function - where you would wear the watch with the function buttons pointing towards your fingers?
The only info I couldn’t find is what type of glass these fossil smart watches use.
that was like the perfect review I found on the internet. I just would like to know a thing that is there any difference between using apple phone or an android phone.
Would it actually be a problem to wear the watch on the right hand? Is there really no lefty mode so the buttons can be on the left side?
That's what I was wondering. You can switch the straps so the buttons are on the correct side but will the face of the watch flip?
There might be a lefty mode, but I can't find it. I've been looking for it
So, I have the Gen 4 currently and my biggest gripe is the lack of accessibility.
Good review. If you have an iPhone are you able to send and receive messages from the phone?
Does this count calories burned all through the day? The main reasons I want one is to calculate calories burned during a workout and also through the day, as well as steps and heart rate. Also, I see it is largely connected to google. Does it work well with iphone or do you need an app to support its functions?
How to set/customize the DOUBLE CLICK on top and button buttons?
Its doing for single click but can’t figure out how to configure double click.
Thanks
I bought this and the biggest upgrade needed to this is the "Battery"!!!
heyy there! can you use apple music on the watch?
Has anyone ever had the issue where the assistant doesn't respond and you just get "cannot connect to google" or something like that?
I'm finding it is a oswear issue not the watch itself
Great review. This watch would be my first choice for a smart watch - if not for the thick bezel. So much wasted screen real estate.
I care about the moon phase. have a moon phase app on my phone and I love that it's on my new fossil watch.
Sweet!
Look nice except for those buttons sticking out. Would have been much nicer if they were inset like the analog version.
Great review very thorough one of the best I've seen.. Would like to see you review the Tic Watch Pro and compare the 2 watches..
Hi! Liked and subscribed! Do you have a go to now that Google play is no more?
I owned this same watch, in terms of the program it is beautiful and good touch and all its advantages over the others, but there is a problem which is the speed of(the charge discharge )
I have one question to you. I have Samsung s20. i thinking to buy this watch. by this watch can i control the Samsung music app?
Nice review..i have a question..I am able to receive calls on this watch but when i try to call someone, google assistant understands the context but doesn't make a call. Is this because of no LTE? I was expecting that watch would inform phone and make the call.. please assist.
Cool review. Can you navigate the menu without using the hardware buttons?
Yea you can. You just swipe on the screen
My Gen3's battery finally died, so I got a refurbished 5, like yours, and I do like it, and appreciate all the improvements Fossil has made since v.3.(which I also liked, but the connectivity on this Gen5 seems much improved over v.3!) (to an iPhone.)
As far as battery, I keep it on a custom setting that doesn't answer calls (though it allows me to accept them) and no NFC, no lift-to-wake (too slow, so i save battery there) (but I keep always-on ON, I like that!) - anyway I always last the day, even with whatever status the phone had when I bought it refurbished.
Hey Mike.Great review. I'm looking to buy a smartwatch and have a samsung phone. Would you recommend this one or the active 2?
Both are great! Active 2 is better for health though thanks to it's many workout integrations and sleep tracking.
@@MikeOBrienMedia Thanks a lot! Your channel is amazing
