I think that removing all the hype, all the training, all the brand associations, etc., Seulgi is one of the truly naturally talented (sing, dance, art, etc.) among all major mainstream Kpop artists. Others do not have the talent at all and just acquired the skills through the efforts of their agency or their talents are just magnified by their visuals or reputation.
Sometimes I don't understand how Kpop focuses on/prioritises visuals, when really the whole idea of being an artist is the ability to perform music well (whether it be singing or rapping). This deviation from the true meaning of being an artist in the Korean music industry really exposes it for being materialistic, and ultimately a hyper artificial, industrialised, money-making business. Of course it's similar in Western pop, but I think it's much much more in your face with Kpop, especially with the whole appeal of companies moulding their idols into specific character archetypes (eg. the indie girl, the ice queen, the girl next door). However, I have some respect for SM entertainment, as it is clearly evident that they put most (if not all) of their idols through proper musical training, and they are known for producing some of the best vocalists in the industry.
I love when she sings "don't be afraid to let them show." Her lower register is phenomenal! I wish SM let her showcase that more often. As for the dancing... I love the way she hits every beat with precision. Her timing is excellent as well. Her sharp to fluid and back to sharp movements are fascinating to watch. Seulgi does interpretive dancing very well reminiscent of Taemin, Kai, Lay, and Taeyong. Her aura is hypnotic. As I watch her I'm all caught up in a reverie, lost in time as she moves. She got me reciting poetry 🤣🤣🤣 She is definitely one of the best dancers in SM and the Kpop industry!

I hate that most people's definition of best dancer is only based on how powerful, sharp, smooth or clean they perform on stage. They are forgetting that DANCING is a FORM OF ART. And this is why I think Seulgi is the GREATEST DANCER from all female kpop idols. Only few in the industry has established their personal style and Seulgi is definitely one of those. Even her technique is very remarkable! And most importantly the emotions conveyed from her overall performance is always what makes her stand out from everyone. I hope more people sees that :)

I think that removing all the hype, all the training, all the brand associations, etc., Seulgi is one of the truly naturally talented (sing, dance, art, etc.) among all major mainstream Kpop artists. Others do not have the talent at all and just acquired the skills through the efforts of their agency or their talents are just magnified by their visuals or reputation.

Sometimes I don't understand how Kpop focuses on/prioritises visuals, when really the whole idea of being an artist is the ability to perform music well (whether it be singing or rapping). This deviation from the true meaning of being an artist in the Korean music industry really exposes it for being materialistic, and ultimately a hyper artificial, industrialised, money-making business. Of course it's similar in Western pop, but I think it's much much more in your face with Kpop, especially with the whole appeal of companies moulding their idols into specific character archetypes (eg. the indie girl, the ice queen, the girl next door). However, I have some respect for SM entertainment, as it is clearly evident that they put most (if not all) of their idols through proper musical training, and they are known for producing some of the best vocalists in the industry.

I love the way she hits every beat with precision. Her timing is excellent as well.

Seulgi does interpretive dancing very well reminiscent of Taemin, Kai, Lay, and Taeyong.

Yes she is my favorite female dancer of the 3rd generation, I can also see that she would go a similar style of music like Taemin. I love her voice especially her lower register, it would be amazing if SM would let her sing it more often in RV songs.

I hate that most people's definition of best dancer is only based on how powerful, sharp, smooth or clean they perform on stage. They are forgetting that DANCING is a FORM OF ART. And this is why I think Seulgi is the GREATEST DANCER from all female kpop idols. Only few in the industry has established their personal style and Seulgi is definitely one of those. Even her technique is very remarkable! And most importantly the emotions conveyed from her overall performance is always what makes her stand out from everyone. I hope more people sees that :)
