Hey old sledder,got the 440indy running a good long stretch today using the clicky clack fuel pump,still havent figured out the old n new pump fittings which is in and which is out.i just set the air screw at 1&1/2 out that seemed fine but had to adjust idles out more to keep a good idle.but i noticed something that you mentioned about needle n seats.since i dont have airbox on the clutch side carb was spewing much fuel out the carb throat more so than mag side.so yeah think its flooding in there,it must be sticking open,rather than not opening.when i go to order needle n seat,there both mikunis do i measure front of carb width or back for size of carbs or just give them yr.make n model of sled to get correct size seat n needle???????snooky pa.it ran a whole 15 minutes,thought i won lotto!!👌💥👍💥🤟
Inside diameter of the side of the carburetor that goes into the engine will tell you the size. Several websites allow you to just type in the year, make, model, etc and the parts that fit come up. You should run with your air box. Without it, the sled will run lean and possibly melt down.
Also, if you're still have questions about which arrow means what on the fuel pump, go down to any snowmobile dealer with your pump in hand. I'd think a mechanic would tell you for free. I think I said in the video, not every arrow means something. Sometimes an arrow is stamped but there is no opening. It just means that they use that body for many different engines. There should be two in arrows and two out arrows with fittings. Fuel in, impulse in, and fuel out to each carb.
Yes sir it does have the arrows but still hard to decipher as youve said.we dont have a snowmachine dealer local,but have boat and atv dealers im sure they would help me awnser those arrows.ok thanks for help.happy trails... .

Yes i know about the airbox lean issue it does have one.i just ran it without for time working on it too get it running!!
