You say the too has a bow for extra strength, is that something you decided to do or that shown in the plans? Im about to start building one myself and was wondering about eliminating oil canning and any strength modifications.
the bow in the top of the sides is part of the design. oil canning comes from slight flexing causing a small deflection in the unsupported skin panels. some people have added supports such as foam, etc to the skin in the open sections. I added longer diagonal supports across all the frame angle joints in an effort to minimize flexing. first flight is sometime in the next week or so, so will let you know if it worked.
